WARNING: tiny, energetic, and utterly adorable Chihuahua mix alert!!! 😃  Hi! I'm Ruth, a tiny but mighty 6lb bundle of joy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. I'm a parkour enthusiast in disguise (don't worry, I've got the landing skills to match my jumping abilities...mostly). I have lightning-fast reflexes and a passion for jumping, running, and generally being a tiny ball of fun!  When I'm not busy perfecting my ninja moves, I'm looking for my forever home, one that's ready for adventure, willing to keep me stimulated with puzzle toys and lots of playtime, and patient enough to help me learn and grow.  I'm a smart cookie (or should I say treat?) who thrives on mental and physical stimulation. I'd love a home with a savvy owner who can keep up with my antics, provide plenty of exercise and training, and shower me with love and attention.  I'm good with dogs, cats (as long as they're cool with my sass), people, and bigger kids (8+ as I don't want to accidentally knock over any tiny humans with my enthusiastic play). My fur is a unique tiger shark inspired masterpiece. Don't worry, I won't bite....RAWWRRR! 😬  As for communication, I'm a selective talker. I only bark when it's absolutely necessary, like when my food bowl is empty, my belly needs rubbing, or I'm trying to initiate a game of chase. My barks are basically like tiny text messages: "Feed me NOW," "Pet me, human," or "Let's play, hooman!"  I am medically up-to-date and ready to bring joy and snuggles to my forever home. If you're ready to decode my barks and provide endless play and snacks, I'm your gal!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! show less

Hi, I'm Caspian! I'm a ruggedly handsome 1-2 year old neutered male Aussie/collie mix, weighing about 50 lbs. Not to brag or anything, but my coat is as magestic as the sprawling landscapes I love to run through.  I was found as a stray in east TN, but now that I' have experienced the love and care of humans, I'm hooked! I adore people, kids, dogs, and I promise to be a loyal companion and furry friend. I don't know how I'd do with cats as I've never met one, so slow introductions will be important with me.  As a mix of working/herding breeds, I need a home that understands my energy level and need for mental and physical stimulation. I'm built for action, and I thrive on having a job to do. I would love a home that could keep up with me, preferably on hikes, running, and playing a good old fashion game of fetch. I would also love a fenced in yard of my own to get my zoomies out!  I'm medically up to date, crate trained, and housebroken. Man, I sound like the perfect package. Come on, let's start our adventure together. I'm anxiously waiting for you!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Meet Sycamore, a ~2-4 year old neutered male small terrier mix, weighing about 13 lbs! Sycamore was rescued from a hoarding/neglect case in east TN along with the other Tree pups (Magnolia, Pine, Teak, etc.). He is currently being fostered in CT with Teak while he waits to find his furever home.  Sycamore is shy/nevous and timid at first. He takes a little time to trust and warm up to new people, but once he trusts you - he's a total snugglebug! He just wants to cuddle and be close to you 🥰 He is looking for someone who will be patient with him and give him a little time and space to come to them on his own terms. Sycamore is good with other dogs, cats, people, and older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space (due to his nervous/timid nature). He is medically up to date, housebroken (expect accidents the first few days while acclimating to a new environment/routine), and crate trained. Meet Kelly, a super sweet ~4 year old neutered male chihuahua mix! He is the perfect portable size, weighing about 10 lbs. Kelly is a friendly pup who gets along with everyone - dogs, people, and kids who are respectful of his small size! He has not been cat tested, however we suspect he would likely do fine with cats. He loves to snuggle and be close to his people, a true lap dog! He also loves basking in the sun ☀️  He is medically up to date, mostly housebroken (he does best when on a consistent schedule, he does tend to mark and has been wearing a belly band indoors to curb this behavior), and crate trained. Meet Turbo, a SUPER cute ~9 month old neutered male Australian Cattle Dog mix, currently weighing about 32 lbs! We don't think he will get too much bigger, he will likely just fill out a bit as he reaches his adult size. Turbo was picked up as a stray by animal control in East TN. We took him into rescue and placed him into a loving foster home, and he has been in his CT foster home for a couple months now waiting to find his furever home! Turbo is a sweet, friendly boy who is full of puppy energy and kisses! He is great with other dogs, people, and kids. He has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how he would do with cats. As a young, energetic herding breed, he would do great in an active home and would make a wonderful running or hiking buddy! He is up for all the adventures and looking for a full time best friend! From Turbo's current foster:  "Turbo is a big kisser! He is full speed - ready to go and play like most puppies. He’s a herding breed and will nose boop you when he’s ready for some fun, but no nipping. He’s looking for an active family that can provide him a fulfilling life and mental stimulation." Turbo is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. **OCTOBER SPECIAL** This dog is eligible for $100 off the listed adoption fee, valid through the end of October! Offer applies to select dogs only, and adoption must be finalized by 10/31/2025 to take advantage of this offer. "Quoth the pup, 'Evermore... playtime, please!'" I'm Poe, a ~14 week old spayed female Aussie mix puppy with a heart full of joy. As part of the Poet Litter, you'd think I'd be raven-obsessed with dark and mysterious verse, but honestly, my poetry is more like "Woof woof, squeaky toys are my heart's desire!" I love everyone I meet, human and furry friend alike, and I'm always up for a good cuddle or play session. But let's be real, I'm still a puppy. I need some guidance and training to become the best version of myself. I'm eager to learn and please, so if you're willing to invest some time in teaching me good manners, I'll be your best student! I'm medically up-to-date (age appropriate) and working on crate training. Potty training is my current 'dark and stormy night' - I'm working on it, but sometimes the accidents are 'dying' to get out! Let's trade in my squeaky toys for a pen and paper, and see what kind of masterpieces we can create together! (just kidding, don't take away the squeaky toys!). Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. My name is Spencer, and my story isn't an easy one. I came from a place where love was scarce, and hope was hard to find. But despite everything I've been through, I've held onto one thing, the desire to be loved. I'm a 5 year old neutered male mixed breed, weighing 24lbs. I'm still learning to trust the world around me. It takes me time to feel safe, and I need patient humans who understand that I'm not like the others. I'm nervous and shy, but once I know you're kind and gentle, I'll let my guard down and show you my heart. I'm good with other dogs, but I need time to unwind and relax around them, just like humans do. I'd thrive in a home with older kids who understand my skittish nature and won't push me beyond what I can handle. As for cats....well, I'm still figuriing those out. I'm medically up to date, and house broken. One thing that's really important to know about me is that crates make me extremely nervous. I'm so scared that I might hurt myself trying to get out, so I'd need a home where I can have freedom and space to move around safely. All I want is to be loved and cherished for who I am. I know I might take a little time to warm up, but I promise I'll reward you with loyalty, snuggles, and a love that's pure and true.  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Meet Nene, a charming and affectionate neutered male mini poodle/shih tzu mix weighing about 20 lbs! This sweet guy is a young 7ish years old and has lots of love to give! He makes himself at home very quickly, is food motivated, and enjoys pats.  Nene is looking for a forever home where he can love and be loved. He is good with people, shy for about 10-15 minutes and then warms up and wants to be your BFF. He is a super snuggle bug and LOVES to cuddle with his people! 🥰 He is a lower energy dog who would be content to spend most of his day curled up on the couch next to you, or under your desk while you work. He's pretty low maintenance and easy going, it really does not take much to make this guy happy!  Nene is good with other dogs after a proper introduction. He will bark at new dogs at first (not aggressive), he just needs a little time to get to know them. He may take a couple days to warm up to other dogs in the household, but after he adjusts he does well with them. He has not been cat tested, but we expect he would likely be fine with dog savvy cats (may bark at them at first like he does with new dogs). He has not been around young kids, but he does well with older kids who know to respect a dog's space.  Nene is medically up to date and housebroken. Hi, I'm Magnolia! I'm ~5 year year old neutered male doxie/spaniel mix, weighing about 20lbs. Sure, I'm 5, but let's be real, age is just a number, am I right?! My past was a garden of thorns. I was rescued from an overcrowded and overwhelming situation (the humans call it a "hoarding" situation), where love and attention were scarce. But despite the challenges, my spirit has remained unbroken, and I'm now ready to unfurl my petals and find my forever home. All I ask is for a little patience and understanding, as I am still learning how to be a dog, and the world can be a scary place for me. But it is getting less scary every day! I am shy and skittish at first, and I take some time to trust new people and feel safe. If you nurture me with patience and kindness, and let me come to you on my own terms, you'll see that behind my scared exterior is a sweet and gentle soul, who wants so badly to love and be loved. Once I know that you are trustworthy and safe, I will be your faithful companion! I adore other dogs, as they've shown me that friendship and fun can go paw-in-paw. Because of my timid nature, I would feel most comfortable in a home with no kids, or older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space. One thing that would make my tail wag with joy: a fenced in yard where I can play, sniff, and feel safe without worrying about getting loose (I'm still learning about leashes). I am medically up-to-date, crate trained, and mostly housebroken (expect some accidents as I get used to a new routine/environment). Will you be my sunshine and help me grow into the best version of myself? Hi, I'm Pine, a ~3 year old spayed female doxie/spaniel mix, weighing about 20lbs! My past wasn't easy, as I was rescued from a crowded and overwhelming environment (the humans call it a "hoarding" situation), where I didn't get the chance to be the beloved pet I was meant to be. But I'm ready to leave that behind and start fresh! I'm a little nervous, and I am shy and skittish when you first meet me. I need time to feel safe, and I hope you can be patient and gentle with me, and let me come to you on my own terms once I'm ready. I haven't had the best experiences with humans in the past, so I am still learning to trust. I want to let my guard down and show you my true, sweet self, but I need to know you're safe first. Deep down, I really just want to love and be loved. I like dogs, they help me to feel safe and more confident. Little kids are scary to me, but I don't mind older kids 8+ who know how to respect a dog's space. I think I would like cats, but maybe a slow introduction would be best for both of us. I wouldn't want to scare my potential feline sister/brother. One thing I'm really looking forward to is having a cozy, fenced-in yard to call my own, somewhere I can sniff, explore, and feel secure without worrying about getting loose (I'm still learning about leashes, as I was never leash trained in my prior life). A quiet backyard would be doggone perfect for me!  I am medically up-to-date, crate trained, and mostly housebroken (expect some accidents while I adjust to a new routine/environment). Will you give me the chance to grow into the best pup I can be? Meet Pawley, a super handsome 1.5 year old neutered male wire terrier mix, weighing about 45 lbs!  This scruffy guy is very friendly and is good with other dogs, cats, people, and kids. He is very good natured and gets along with everyone. He is an energetic boy who would love a fenced in yard of his own and maybe a doggo sibling to keep him company! He loves to throw a ball or stuffy up in the air and chase it all over! How could you not fall in love with this sweet boy?! Pawley is medically up to date and housebroken. He does have a bit of separation anxiety and is not a fan of the crate, so he would do best with someone who works from home or who can take their dog to work with them. Apply to meet this sweet boy today! Meet Bug, an adorable 3 month old mixed breed male puppy from the "B" litter, born to the lovely mama October (52 lb lab mix). We expect these pups to grow to medium sized dogs.  October was found with her 6 newborn puppies under floor boards inside an abandoned house in east TN. Over 25 dogs were rescued from this property, having been left to fend for themselves 😢 (sadly, this type of situation is not uncommon in this area). Although the B litter had a tragic start, you wouldn't know it - as they are typical happy, friendly puppies who love everyone! These resilient pups are ready to put their pasts behind them and find their furever homes!  Bug is a super sweet boy who gets along great with other dogs, cats, people, and kids!  Young puppies are like blank slates - with proper training and socialization, they will grow into wonderful dogs.  He is medically up to date (age appropriate), and working on crate and house training. **SEPTEMBER SPECIAL** This dog is eligible for $100 off the listed adoption fee, valid through the end of September! Offer applies to select dogs only, and adoption must be finalized by 9/30/2025 to take advantage of this offer. Meet Reishi, the 1.5-year-old dachshund/min pin mix with a heart of gold and a spirit of adventure! This charming pup hails from Tennessee, where he survived a hoarding case and proved to be a resilient little soul. Now, he's looking for his forever home, where he'll shower his humans with affection, snuggle up for Netflix binges, and steal hearts with his goofy antics. Reishi is as fascinating as he is adorable. Did you know that his namesake, the Reishi mushroom, is known for its extraordinary healing properties and ability to boost the immune system? Much like his fungal counterpart, our Reishi is a bundle of energy and joy, spreading positivity wherever he goes. From the man himself:  "I'm looking for a peaceful home where I can thrive - that means no tiny humans, please! I'm not exactly a fan of chaos, and kids can be, well, a bit much. Dog siblings, on the other hand, are totally my thing. If you're a laid-back human who can provide a calm environment and plenty of belly rubs, let's be besties!" By adopting Reishi, you'll not only gain a loving companion, but you'll also provide this special boy a second chance at a happy life. Warning: cute overload ahead! 😍  I'm Spice, a ~6 month old spayed female Maltese/Chihuahua mix! I'm tiny, just 9lbs, but I'm full of big personality and an even bigger heart. I'm the perfect addition to any family recipe, I add a little flavor and a whole lot of love! 💗  The best part? I've got the best mom in the whole world, Sugar! She's taught me everything I know about being smart and loving. I'm good with dogs, kids, and probably even cats! I'm still a puppy though, so I will require a little patience and training to set me up for success.  I'm medically up to date, crate trained, and I've worked really hard on house training. I love playtime, snuggles, and treats (who deosn't??). I'm a social butterfly who just wants to be around my pack and shower them with love and kisses, will you be that lucky human?  **Spice will be available at our adoption event on October 5, 2025 at Petco in Dayville, CT. Please note: only pre-approved adopters are able to adopt directly from events.** Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Hi, I'm Toby Bear! I'm a gentle soul, a 3 year old mixed breed who's still finding my footing in the world. My past hasn't been easy. I came from a place where there were too many of us, and not enough love to go around. It takes me a little time to warm up to new people and places, but with patience, love, and understanding, I'm learning to trust and feel safe.  I crave love, kindness, and companionship. I'm good with other dogs, and I love having friends to hang out with, as long as we take things slow. I'd do best in a home with older kids who understand my shy side.  I'm medically up to date, and neutered. If you're willing to offer me patience, love, and a second chance, I'll reward you with loyalty, snuggles, and a heart full of gratitude. I know what it means to be overlooked, but I'm ready to be seen, loved, and cherished. Hi, I'm Willow! I'm a ~1 year old spayed female poodle/doodle sweetheart who loves two things in life: snuggling and playtime! There's nothing better than curling up in someone's lap and gazing up at them with adoring eyes. Don't worry, I'm still lapdog size at 50 lbs, at least I think so. I also love to run around and play with my furry friends. I am happiest around other dogs and am hoping that my furever home will include a doggo sibling(s) to play with! I'm a social butterfly (or should I say, social pup?) and thrive on companionship. When I'm with other dogs, I'm in my element, and I even learn from them. Some of my best friends right now are Staffies, I just can't get enough of those adorable faces! As for cats....well, I'm not really sure about those guys. I've never really met one, so I'd need a slow introduction and some patience from my new family. My TN foster says I'm halfway housebroken, and I'm getting there. I love using my pee pads, but I'm still learning to go outside exclusively. I'm super smart and treat motivated, so I'm sure I'll get the hang of it with some consistency and tasty rewards. Don't worry if I bark a little, it's just my way of saying, "Let's play!" or "Hey, I'm excited!" When I'm around my pack, I'm quiet and good as gold. I'm medically up to date, which I think means the vet poked me enough times and gave me some yummy treats afterward. I'm not really sure what it means, but if it makes my humans happy, I'm good! I'm crate trained and do well in my crate when I'm not with my favorite humans or furry friends. I even snuggle up and sleep soundly on my favorite human's bed. I am excited to start a new adventure, and I'm excited to meet my forever family!  **Willow will be available at our adoption event on October 5, 2025 at Petco in Dayville, CT. Please note: only pre-approved adopters are able to adopt directly from events.** Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Meet Chica and Rebel, a super sweet senior bonded pair who have lots of cuddles and love left to fill your life with joy! 🥰  Chica is a precious spayed female chihuahua mix, weighing about 10 lbs! This senior gal is estimated to be about 13 years young. Don't let her age scare you away, she has lots of life left in her!  Chica is a sweet, gentle girl who is happiest when she is on your lap. She loves to snuggle up and give kisses to Rebel, which is the sweetest thing 🥹 Both Chica and Rebel will follow you around the house like your shadow, and they love to be close to you. They are really very special and low maintenance little dogs who will make you smile every day.  Chica and Rebel are good with people and they get along well with other chill, mellow dogs like themselves. They have not been cat tested, but we expect they would do fine with cats. Due to their size and age, these cuties would do best in a home with older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space, or no kids.
