Mason and Maise have been adopted this week. McKarty is still awaiting a FURever home. Mckarty is a typical 3 and half month old puppy, he is learning about the world, playful, friendly and sweet. He is not fully housebroken or crate trained yet, but he is practicing each day! He is fully vetted, up to date on all of his vaccines, and is neutered. And aleady a volunteer favorite! Limone was picked up as a stray in TN, and brought to the local Animal Control, which is considered a kill shelter, as they will euthanize dogs who are not claimed within 3 days. Despite theit age, health and temperament. Limone has been in a foster home with other dogs, and farm animals. He is good with other dogs, good with children, we suspect he would do ok with dog savvy cats. Porkchop would make a wonderful family dog, or a best bud for a person looking to add a furbaby to their family! Porkchop would love a fenced in yard where he could play, and would love a doggo friend to keep him company. Porkchop is crate trained, and about 90% housebroken, show less

John wayne is your typical playful, silly, curious and friendly puppy. He needs an adopter who will take the time to train him and socialize him properly. At 11 weeks old, John Wayne doesnt know much, and will need a pateint adopter who will guide him, as well as love and care for him. John Wayne will grow to be a large size dog. Our best guess is he will likely be between 40-60lbs full grown. He is 11 weeks old so he is NOT potty trained or crate trained yet. He is medically UTD on his vaccines and preventatives. They have been fully vetted, and neutered and spayed before we sent them to New England to find their furever homes! Currently being fostered in New England and ready to meet their new families! Paddy is a shepard mix, about 3 months old and female. She is said to be a sweet heart, loves to play with toys, and get attention from people. April along with her 4 puppies were saved on Easter morning of 2022. We got a call in the middle of the night, that Easter Day (2:00AM) about a family of abandonded dogs, in the woods of a mountain. The dogs were spotted near the road on the mountain and the finder got out and picked up mom and the 4 puppies and begged for help. We contacted the finder, as the puppies were starving, full of worms and appeared sick and injured, we knew they needed rescue immediately. We got them to the vet right away, and we had mom April and the 4 puppies checked out and tests run. April is now medically up to date, spayed and healthy for adoption! April is about 1-2 years old and just the sweetest girl you would ever meet. Her foster said she is the most calmest, and chill dog they have ever met. April does well with other dogs of all sizes, genders and breeds, she has been a great mom to her pups. She is good with kids, but we do suggest older kids, dog savvy kids who know how to respect a dogs space. April has not been cat tested yet so we are unsure how she would do with cats. Milo is a one year old hound/catahoula mix. He weighs about 40lbs He is good with other dogs, with proper introductions and is ok with dog savvy cats. He LOVES children, he will nap with the toddlers in his foster home, his foster mom says if he catches you napping he will jump on the bed and get under the covers to sleep. Milo spent 4 months at a shelter (Luckily for Milo he found himself in a nonkill shelter... Paws Rescue League contacted the shelter and told them we wanted to rescue the dog that was there the longest) So many people passed up on this sweet boy. He spent his life from 8 months old to 12 months old in a noisy scary shelter. The shelter workers knew how much of a good boy he was, he was great with all the staff, good with other dogs, and was ok with the cats! He loves to run in a fenced in yard now that he is free from a small 5x6 kennel! He has his whole life ahaead of him, and he is going to make a family very happy! show less

Roy was brought to Animal Control as an owner surrender along with 2 other dogs. The Animal Control we save dogs from is a kill shelter. Dogs who are "Surrendered by their owner" have 24 hours to have someone adopt them, or a rescue to save them. We saved Roy and his brother Floyd from the euthanaisa list, from death row. To give them a chance to live. To find a furever family who will love them, and not discard them like trash once they have no use for them anymore. Roy is a great boy, his TN foster family adore him. He is amazing at fetch and brings the ball/toy back for you to throw it again, He is fully housebroken, and crate trained. He is great with other dogs, she has not been cat tested yet. He is good with children, we suggest children 8 years and up who can respect a dogs personal space. He walks ok on leash. This boy is so grateful, to have been saved, he shows his gratitude to his people every chance he gets. He will make a family very happy. show less

Peggy is AMAZING with kids, she gravitates towards them, and seems like she is keeping a eye out for them. She is also very good with other dogs, she is good at taking other dogs cues, and body language. She has not been cat tested yet. She is housebroken and crate trained. She is getting used to walking on leash, she pulls a ittle bit, but gets better daily. Peggy enjoys being around her people, and would love a family who has a fenced in yard, or who would take her hiking or traveling. She would be a wonderful adventure dog! Peggy was found as a stray, and picked up by a local TN county animal control. Paws Rescue League Inc saves dogs from kill shelters (Animal control). Stella Artois and her siblings Guinness and Amstel were found as strays near a shopping center. Their owner had dumped the three puppies in the parking lot of a shopping center becasue they no longer wanted to care for them. Concerned citizens called animal control who came to pick these puppies up. Once at animal control the state law gives them 3 THREE days time for them to find an adopter or rescue. If no one adopts, or no rescue takes them, they are euthanized to make space for other strays that need to be picked up. THREE DAYS. Paws Rescue League saved these 3 babies with the help of the local Humane Society. They were placed in a foster home, and recieved age appropriate vet care. They will be heading to New England the second week of April 2022 to find their furever homes. Stella Artois is a typical puppy, loving, playful, curious, and friendly. She is not yet potty trained, or crate trained. She is good with all people and all other animals. Their foster parents say he is just the sweetest little guy. All 3 puppies just love to play and cuddle with people. They are estimated to be about 10 weeks old. show less

Echo was found as a stray in TN. He was picked up by local animal control and placed on a 3 day stray hold. After the 3 days if Echo didnt get picked up by his owner, or a person or rescue didnt save him, he would have been euthanized for space. Paws Rescue League Inc saves dogs from kill shelters, dogs who are on the euthanasia list (death row) due to no fault of their own. We save many dogs from the situation like Echos. Echo now has a chance to find a wonderful loving furever home. Once we saved him we placed him in a foster home in TN. We have learned by Tysons behaviors, and body language that he had been abused in the past. He will shudder and crouch in fear if you move quickly behind him. He braces himslef expecting to get hit. THIS BREAKS OUR HEARTS that someone could hurt this little fluffy fella. Tyson also has an eye thay he can not see out of, due to a past injury that could have been abuse related, Fortunately he can see out of one of his eyes. He is a sweetheart of a dog, he is timid, and he can get frightened quickly, but with a loving home who will continue to work with him to show him HE IS LOVED, AND HE IS SAFE, and not all people are BAD. Echo has so much potential to be an amazing dog, he already is! He just needs a family who will help build his confidence so he no longer shudders in fear at some movements. Echo is a 3 year old neutered male Aussie, havanese mix, he is about 25lbs. He has a long coat that will requrie some grooming. He is good with people, but is shy at first and can get spooked very easily, which is completely understandable considering his past. He has not been cat tests, so we do not know how he would do with cats. He is goos with dogs, but does better with larger dogs or dogs his size, the little ones can sneak up on him and scare/confuse him. He is house broken and crate trained. Echo would love a home with another dog, bigger than him, or a home where he is the only dog. He would do well in a family with older children who can respect a dogs space, or a home with no children. He would love a fenced in yard, and thats is prefered for him. He is a mellow guy, and just wants to be loved. He is hoping there is someone out there who willl love him for himl show less

Frankie (Sinatra) and Joey (Bishop) were saved by Paws Rescue League Inc. When someone contacted a different rescue for help with 2 puppies they wanted to get rid of. The rescue they contacted were closed for intake due to the sheer volume of unwanted and abandoned animals. They shared with other rescues for help, and Paws Rescue League stepped in. Frankie and Joey are both typical 13 week old puppies. They are exploring the world around them, practicing potty training and crate training. They are both sweet pups. We believe they are Great Pyrenees Labrador mixes. They have webbed feet, and and rear dew claws. Frankie is a 13 week old male, with a chocolate coat, and mesmerizing baby blue eyes! He is age appropriate medically up to date. He is NOT neutered yet. He is currently 13 weeks old, and will be a large dog when full grown. Most vet will suggest neuter at a year old for him. Sassy is a sweet, loving girl, who is so grateful for every day she has, and grateful for her people. She just adores people, and loves to be near them. She likes to give hugs and get hugs. She is good with kids and with other dogs (cats are unknown). She is crate trained, housebroken ( using a doggy door), she knows her basic commands, "Sit", "Down", "Paw", "Come". She has good recall and comes when she is called. She is goos on leash for walks. She was rescued from a home where she was unloved, and unwanted and not cared for. She escaped and was found and brought back to the owner, and the owner said they didnt want her. So Paws Rescue League rescued her and placed her into a foster home and got her fixed, and fully vetted and ready for a furever home. She has blossomed into this big love bug. Her southern foster mom said if she didnt own 6 dogs already she would adopt her in a heartbeat. She is just so thankful to be in a better place, and thankful to finally feel loved. We promised her we would find her a home where she will be loved, and wanted. show less

Sunny, and his non biological sibling Archie were saved last minute, they were less than hours away from euthanasia. Sunny and Archie, and another dog were picked up as strays. Their owner was notified his 3 dogs were at animal control. The volunteers told us (Paws Rescue League Inc), that the 3 dogs were in the front kennels, and could see thier owner when he came in. They saw him, and they started wagging their tails, and barking as if to say "Hey Dad, were over here! Were so happy to see you! They told us their owner didnt even look in their direction, he signed custody of his 3 dogs over to the county animal control. And left. As the 3 dogs watched. Confused, heartbroken and scared. The animal control we save dogs from will euthanise a stray after 3 days if the owners dont pick the dog up, or if the dog doesnt get adopted or rescued. If a dog is surrendered by their owner the dog has only 24 hours to find an adopter or a rescue. Since Archie, Sunny, and their brother were already at animal control for 3 days now, and their owner surrendered them. They were scheduled for euthanasia. The local county humane society reached out to us about the 3 dogs at animal control who were out of time. We were able to save Sunny, and Archie in time, but sadyl not their other brother. Sunny is a wonderful dog, who loves to play and run with all dogs, of any size, or gender. We believe he is about 2 years old, and a bassett hound/jack russel mix. He is just a very happy boy. He got his name becuase he likes to bask in the sun, and his sweet disposition. Sunny is good with people, we suggest kids older than 8 years old. as he can get a little timid at times, He gets along with all dogs. We are unsure on cats. He is good in his crate, and is house broken. He is neutered, and up to date on all his vetting needs, and current on preventatives. Sunny is just so greatful to be alive, and a joy to be around. show less

Derk was surrendered to Paws Rescue League because his family could no longer care for him. Derk comes from a home where he was raised with children, other dogs and cats. Currently he is being fostered in a TN foster home, with other dogs, children and cats as well. Derk is good with other dogs, a little too curious and playful for cats (especially for cats who are not used to dogs). Derk should go to a family with no children or with older children who understand how to respect a dogs space. Derk is a large dog, who sometimes doesnt realize hes not a small lap dog and can knock small kids over unintentionally. He loves to relax and take naps on a dog bed or couch, but also enjoys going for walks or having a fenced in yard to run around in. Derk is a good boy and would benefit from an owner or family with breed expereince. He is a happy, silly, land seal looking for his furever home. 9 show less

Rain and Rufus are 5 month old American Staffordhire Terrier/Austrailian Cattledog mixes. Rain and her brother were brought to animal control as owner surrenders. Which unluckily for them, was in Greeneville TN, which has a 24 hour hold on Owner Surrendered dogs. After 24 hrs if someoen doesnt come and adopt them, or a rescue doesnt take them, they would be euthanzied. Lukcily for them, Paws Rescue League Inc saw them, and saved them with the help of the local humane society. Rain is a beautiful girl with a diluted grey brindle coat. She is 5 months old, a typical puppy where she loves to play with everything and everyone. She is currently having a wonderful time at her CT foster home. But she would love to have a family to call her own. She is crate trained, and is working on mastering potty training. Her foster mom says Rain and her brother Rufus are such well behaved puppies, its shocking to her! They love all dogs, people, children, and would do fine in a home with dog saavy cats. show less

All have been adopted except for Allie. Allie is still waiting for her FURever home. Allie is a 1 and a half year old Black Long Haired Chihuahua. She is a spunky playful little girl who is the ultimate lap snuggler! She is good with dogs of all sizes, well socialized. Good with people and children, and good with cats. She is housebroeken and pee pad trained. She is crate trained but prefers to sleep with or near her people. Allie is spayed and medically up to date. She is so full of life and a happy girl.
