This Volunteer Agreement (“Agreement”) is made between The Rescue Crew, a Minnesota-based nonprofit animal rescue organization, and the undersigned volunteer (“Volunteer”). By signing this Agreement, said Volunteer agrees to the following terms and conditions:
I. ROLE OF VOLUNTEER. Volunteer acknowledges that service with The Rescue Crew is voluntary, unpaid, and at-will. Volunteer may discontinue service at any time. Likewise, The Rescue Crew may terminate a volunteer relationship at any time, with or without cause.
II. CODE OF CONDUCT
- —Treat all animals, fellow volunteers, staff, adopters, fosters, donors, and community members with respect.
- —Follow The Rescue Crew’s policies, procedures, and instructions of designated leaders.
- —Maintain a safe and supportive environment for both animals and people.
- —Represent The Rescue Crew positively in the community and online.
III. CONFIDENTIALITY & SOCIAL MEDIA. Volunteer may have access to confidential information, including adopter/foster details, donor records, and internal communications. Volunteer agrees not to disclose, copy, or misuse this information.
Volunteer agrees to abide by The Rescue Crew’s Social Media Policy.
- —When discussing The Rescue Crew online, volunteers must be kind, accurate, and make clear their views are personal, not official.
- —Inappropriate posts (defamatory, discriminatory, harassing, threatening, or false information) will not be tolerated.
- —Failure to comply with the Social Media Policy may result in corrective action, up to and including termination of volunteer service.

IV. ASSUMPTION OF RISK & WAIVER OF LIABILITY
- —Volunteer understands that working with animals involves inherent risks, including the risk of bites, scratches, illness, property damage, and injury.
- —Volunteer assumes full responsibility for these risks and agrees to release and hold harmless The Rescue Crew, its Board, officers, volunteers, fosters, employees, and partners from any and all liability arising out of volunteer activities.
- —Volunteer acknowledges that The Rescue Crew does not provide health, medical, or liability insurance for volunteers.
V. MEDICAL AUTHORIZATION. In case of accident, injury, or illness, Volunteer authorizes The Rescue Crew to seek emergency medical treatment on their behalf. Volunteer affirms that they are covered by a personal health insurance plan.
VI. PHOTO & MEDIA RELEASE. Volunteer grants The Rescue Crew permission to use their name, image, voice, or likeness in photographs, videos, or recordings for promotional, marketing, fundraising, or educational purposes, without compensation.
VII. BACKGROUND CHECK AUTHORIZATION. Volunteer authorizes The Rescue Crew to conduct a public background check, which may include criminal history, as deemed necessary for volunteer service.
VIII. COURT-ORDERED COMMUNITY SERVICE RESTRICTION. The Rescue Crew does not accept court-ordered or court-mandated community service volunteers. The Volunteer affirms that their participation is entirely voluntary and not required by any court, probation, diversion, or legal program. Any misrepresentation of this information may result in immediate termination of volunteer privileges.
IX. MISCELLANEOUS. This Agreement represents the entire understanding between Volunteer and The Rescue Crew. If any provision is found invalid, the remainder shall continue in full effect. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota.
