Korean K9 Rescue - Volunteer Application

Please note that KK9R is a foster-based rescue. Therefore, we do not have one central location where our dogs are kept.

1. Your services to Korean K9 Rescue are provided strictly in a voluntary capacity as a volunteer, and without any express or implied promise of salary, compensation or other payment of any kind whatsoever

 2. Your services are furnished without any employment type benefits, including employment insurance programs, worker’s compensation accrual in any form, vacations or sick leave.

3. Each party hereto understands that the other party may, without notice or hearing, terminate your services as a volunteer at any time, with or without any reason, in their sole discretion.

4. You understand that Korean K9 Rescue receives dogs from many sources, including, among others, the brutal dog meat trade, puppy mills and high kill shelters in South Korea where the dogs may have been in dangerous, unhealthy and /or cruel situations. This could result in the dogs’ emotional or physical illness. You acknowledge that dogs are animals and as such can be unpredictable and dangerous in any situation regardless of where they came from or their prior living conditions. You agree that we are making no representation or warranties about the temperament, personality, training or condition of the dogs.

 5. You understand that as a result of volunteering for Korean K9 Rescue, that you are placing yourself in a hazardous situation which could result in damage, injury or other harm of any kind or nature to you and/or your personal property. In consideration for Korean K9 Rescue providing this volunteer opportunity, you agree to release and indemnify and hold harmless Korean K9 Rescue, its past, present and future officers, directors, representatives, agents, employees, volunteers, consultants, affiliates, successors and assigns from and against any and all liability, claims, suits, actions, judgments, costs, fees, including reasonable attorneys’ fees and damages of any kind or nature for any damage, injury or other harm of any kind or nature to you, any other person or property arising out of and/or in connection with your volunteer activities on behalf of Korean K9 Rescue.

6. This Volunteer Agreement is the entire agreement between Korean K9 Rescue and you and supersedes any prior understandings with respect to you volunteering for Korean K9 Rescue. No modification of this Volunteer Agreement will be valid unless in writing duly signed by both you and a representative of Korean K9 Rescue. This Volunteer Agreement is legally binding. If any provision of this Volunteer Agreement is declared invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be ineffective only to the extent of such invalidity, so that the remainder of that provision and all remaining provisions of this Volunteer Agreement will continue in full force and effect. This Volunteer Agreement shall be governed and construed in accordance with the internal laws of the State of New York applicable to agreements entered into and to be fully performed in such state, without regard to the laws of conflict of laws. Any dispute or claim arising out of and/or in connection with this Volunteer Agreement shall be brought only in the state courts of New York or in the federal courts located in Queens County, New York.
