ENTER YOUR INITIALS IN THE TEXT BOX BELOW IF YOU AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING TERMS IF PEP'S PALS RESCUE IS ABLE TO ACCEPT YOUR SURRENDER REQUEST & PLACE YOUR DOG IN A FOSTER OR ADOPTIVE HOME WHEN ONE BECOMES AVAILABLE.
*I hereby voluntarily relinquish all claims and ownership of said dog to the organization known as Pep's Pals Rescue. I am irrevocably transferring and relinquishing to Pep's Pals Rescue legal ownership of, and microchip registration/re-registration rights to this dog on the date hereof. I further acknowledge understanding that the dog becomes the property of Pep's Pals Rescue, and that Pep's Pals Rescue will spay/neuter this dog, if intact, and will make every effort to place this dog in a new family setting. I agree to give up the dogs registration papers and all medical records available to and allow Pep's Pals Rescue to contact my vet if necessary.
When possible, you’ll be asked to bring your dog to a designated intake place, or to transport at least part of the way if you are a long distance from the rescue representative or foster home. Make sure your dog is wearing a collar and ID tags for the trip. Determine which of your dog’s belongings you can send with him/her. Having their own crate, bed, toys, jacket, etc., not only keeps the dog more comfortable by being around familiar objects, but relieves rescue of having to purchase so many of these items for your dog. Please send food that your dog is used to, and pack up medications or supplements your dog needs, along with instructions for administration of them. All of our dogs are placed first in pre-approved foster homes. Except in the case of strays or dogs coming from shelters where contagious illnesses might threaten the pets of our foster families, we do not board our dogs at kennels, veterinarian’s offices, groomers, etc. Our pre-screened and well educated foster families are provided with support from other volunteers and foster families as well as trainers and veterinarians when appropriate. When we take a dog in, we keep it in our home with our family and pets. Whether it takes weeks or months to find it a home, we keep the dog with us and incur the cost of its care and vetting. We do not fundraise and pay for our rescue work out of our own pockets. It is partially funded by our adoption fees, but this typically does not cover all of our expenses during the year.
Pep's Pals does not "own" any dog until they actually take possession of the owner surrender.
If this is an adoption return and/or Pep's Pals Rescue is mandating the return of the dog(s), you must agree to the terms of this agreement as there is no other choice.
