ANIMAL RESCUE & ANIMAL SHELTER Organizations Section ONLY

This Section of the application is for animal rescue groups only!

Donors provide wholesome, nutritious food on an as-available basis only. The majority of products is dog food, however, we do also receive cat food, cat litter, horse feed , occassionally livestock and chicken feed, and small creature feed and bedding.

Organizations are not able to request specific food types (e.g., grain-free) or brands.

Food and supplies (the "Donated Goods") are for the Recipient Group’s use only. They may not be:

a)  redistributed without the expressed written consent of the GOODS Program
b)  sold, rented, or exchanged for other goods or services, nor
c)  presented for refund

Each Recipient Organization must complete their own application. It is a violation to obtain products on behalf of another organziation.

Submitting this form does not guarantee approval to receive products. Incomplete applications will not be processed.

Please note we only receive a small amount of cat food in comparison to dog food and cat food is always in high demand. We will try and ensure you get what you need, but it will be dependent on how much we receive and how many other organizations are requesting also.
We will occasionally be offered human essential items, we do not know what they will be, until we are offered them!

What Next ?

When your application and a copy of your 501ce or relative licence has been received at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, we will move forward with processing your application.

We try and get all applications processed and hopefully approved within a few days, however, this could take 2-3 weeks, depending on our work-load at the rescue and with all of our programs.

Once approved, you will receive an email informing you and you will be added to our database. Then as we receive and accept offers of donated goods, we will reach out with all relevant information.

The pick up location will always be at the rescue at 187 Downs Road, Sebec, Maine.

We do have a tractor and can sometimes borrow forks, however, please expect to "hand-load" incase the tractor is not available.

Most if not all correspondance will be done via email.

Payment MUST be made either before pick-up or at the time of pick up. We accept cash, credit card, paypal, venmo ect.

Program Information

Give a Dog a Home Rescue has teamed up with Greater Good Charities, GOODS Program to become the Maine and surrounding east coast states Program Ambassador. Sharing resources with animal welfare agencies and human support organizations to help them with their organization missions. 

Food and supplies are donated by the truckload from gracious donors, shipped to our location in Sebec, Maine for receipt and allocation, then distributed to qualified GOODS Program recipients for a MINIMAL HANDLING FEE.

The Greater Goods Charities (GGC) requires all of their Goods Program Ambassadors to vet all potential recipients of all donations, this is part of our contract to GGC.

As an Ambassador, we receive, organize, then distribute pet food, essential supplies, clothing, housewares, toys, and more to pets and people in need throughout the state and east coast.

To participate, organizations must meet the following qualifications:

  • Be a 501(c) 3 organization in good standing, a municipal/county shelter, or human services organization
  • Provide a website including the organization’s mission (Facebook is not sufficient)
  • Have a profile on Guidestar (if you are a non-profit organization).
  • If an animal shelter, rescue or sanctuary: List adoptable pets online and spay/neuter all animals prior to adoption.
  • If sanctuary: Agree to a site visit

To qualify, complete the appropriate application. You will need to upload a copy of your IRS determination letter and or state licences for verification to qualify.
