Program Information

Give a Dog a Home Rescue has teamed up with Greater Good Charities, GOODS Program to become the Maine and surrounding east coast states Program Ambassador. Sharing resources with animal welfare agencies and human support organizations to help them with their organization missions.

Food and supplies are donated by the truckload from gracious donors, shipped to our location in Sebec, Maine for receipt and allocation, then distributed to qualified GOODS Program recipients for a MINIMAL HANDLING FEE.

The Greater Goods Charities (GGC) requires all of their Goods Program Ambassadors to vet all potential recipients of all donations, this is part of our contract to GGC.

As an Ambassador, we receive, organize, then distribute pet food, essential supplies, clothing, housewares, toys, and more to pets and people in need throughout the state and east coast.

To participate, organizations must meet the following qualifications:

  • Be a 501(c) 3 organization in good standing, a municipal/county shelter, or human services organization
  • Provide a website including the organization’s mission (Facebook is not sufficient)
  • Have a profile on Guidestar (if you are a non-profit organization).
  • If an animal shelter, rescue or sanctuary: List adoptable pets online and spay/neuter all animals prior to adoption.
  • If sanctuary: Agree to a site visit

To qualify, complete the appropriate application. You will need to upload a copy of your IRS determination letter and or state licences for verification to qualify.
