As a volunteer, we request that you agree to abide by The Rescue Crew Social Media Policy and agree to the terms and conditions stated herein:
The Rescue Crew realizes that many employees, volunteers, Foster Caregivers and Board Members may participate in Social Media as a way to share their life experiences and thoughts with family, colleagues and friends. Social Media includes all means of communicating or posting information or content of any sort on the Internet, including to your own or someone else’s web blog, journal or diary, personal website, social networking or affinity web site, web bulletin board or chat room whether or not associated or affiliated with The Rescue Crew, as well as any other form of electronic communication. An employee, volunteer, Foster Caregiver and Board member’s use of Social Media may involve certain risks and requires you to exercise certain responsibilities and cautions. It is important to remember that any conduct that adversely affects the job and/or volunteer performance of colleagues or others who work on behalf of or for The Rescue Crew, such as suppliers, vendors, donors, etc., may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination and removal of said individuals. To assist, The Rescue Crew has established the following guidelines for the appropriate use of Social Media.
1). A volunteer, employee, Foster Caregiver or Board Member may not use The Rescue Crew email assigned to them to register on any Social Media website or platform for personal use.
2). Any social media postings by said individuals shall be consistent with The Rescue Crew policies including, but not limited to, anti-harassment and non-discrimination policies as well as The Rescue Crew policies regarding the non-disclosure of information we are required to keep confidential pursuant to state and federal laws.
3). Inappropriate postings that may include defamatory remarks discriminatory remarks, harassment and threats of violence or similar inappropriate or unlawful conduct will not be tolerated.
4). If The Rescue Crew is a subject of Social Media content any employee, volunteer, Foster Caregiver or Board member is creating, the individual must be clear and open about the fact that they are associated with The Rescue Crew and their views do not represent those of The Rescue Crew. For example; “The views and comments stated herein are personal and do not necessarily reflect the views of The Rescue Crew.”
5). An employee, volunteer, Foster Caregiver or Board member should be honest and accurate when posting information or news and if a mistake is made, the individual should quickly correct it. Said individuals should never post any information or rumors that they know to be false about The Rescue Crew, our clients or partners and people working on our behalf.
6). Individuals who are authorized to post on behalf of The Rescue Crew should understand that they are posting on behalf of The Rescue Crew and must adhere to professional standards, values, policies and applicable laws at all times. Any content posted on mediums owned or managed by The Rescue Crew should be current and accurate. If you do make an error, take responsibility for it and correct it quickly. Do not post any information that is obscene, defamatory, libelous, threatening, harassing, or intimidating to another person or entity. Individuals may be held personally liable for such remarks.
