REHOMING YOUR DOG—Read this first!!!

Before you fill out this application:

•Are you 100% positive you want to rehome your dog? Please really think this through.

•Have you reached out to wherever you adopted or purchased your dog? In most cases, they will at least want first refusal to take your dog back and there is a return policy.

We unfortunately can not help every dog in need. It really hurts us to have to say no. If your dog does not fit in our foster based program, we will do our best to refer you to other rescues that could be a better fit, we will also offer trainer options and other ideas that could help you to keep your dog.

If your dog has a bite history, or behavioral issues unfortunately we cannot move forward. GBP is a foster based program and the safety and welfare of our foster homes is very important to us. We will be calling the vets office and local animal control through this process.

STEPS TO REHOMING:

**IMPORTANT** email team@galsbestpal.com BEFORE filling out this form or sending any documents.

1) Submit surrender form **your dog must be able to pass a temperament evailuation & dog test through an approved trainer from our list (on our website) - although it hurts us to say no, we can only take friendly/social dogs into our foster based program.

2) Call your vet and have them email all of your dogs vetting history and vaccine history to team@galbestpal.com

3)Be prepared to bring your dog to a professional trainer for a behavioral evaluation and dog test.

4)If your dog passes the evaluation and dog test and is accepted into our rehoming program, your dog will need to be fully up to date on vaccines; Rabies, DHPP and kennel cough, have a recent negative 4DX heartworm test & fecal test and they will need a recent heath certificate from your vet- (The health certificate, 4DX and fecal need to be completed within 30 days of surrender)

5)Once your dog has passed the professional evaluation and dog test and is fully vetted, please allow us two weeks to find a compatible foster home. If you need to move the process along faster at this point, we could set you up with a boarding facility to care for your dog( at your expense) while we secure a foster home for your dog.

6)Please trust that we will do our best to find a safe and happy home for your dog. Once they are adopted and settled we will happily send you an update!
