I/we understand that: Three Little Pitties Rescue is entering into this Foster-to-Adopt Agreement as a courtesy to me/us to allow me/us to have custody of this cat for 7 days (kitten under 6 months), 10 days (cat over 6 months) starting the day the pet is in my/our possession, which is: (Enter Start Date of Foster-to-Adopt below)

You must notify your coordinator on or by this date if you intend to proceed with adoption. Payment in full is required on or by this date if you decide to proceed with adoption.

I/We agree that the rescue makes no representations or warranties, expressed or implied, about said animal's condition, health, or temperament, and is hereby absolved from any liability for future claims, legal actions, losses, damages or injuries caused by said animal, starting the moment the animal is handed over to the foster

I/We acknowledge that Three Little Pitties Rescue has provided in good faith what it believes to be appropriate veterinary and other information about this cat, that the cat is provided by Three LIttle Pitties Rescue “as is”, so that the cat’s temperament, health, habits and physical condition are not guaranteed.

I/We understand the requirement to follow the post transport decompression instructions provided by the coordinator.

......... and that I/We will follow the guidelines for slow introductions in my/our home.

I/We Agree that for all foster-to-adopt pets I/we agree to keep the pet in my/our home until a replacement foster or adopter can be located. If I decide not to adopt, I agree to foster said cat until adopted. I understand there is no time frame to which this could happen.

I/We have/will review the animals intake medical form and understand the current status' listed. I/We understand that, due to the delay between infection and the ability of a test to detect infection, the rescue cannot guarantee that the pet will remain FIV negative. FIV is transmitted to other cats in the household if a major fight occurs and a positive FIV feline bites a negative FIV feline. Three Little Pitties Rescue requires that all of our felines be kept as indoor only pets to avoid further chances of infection.

It is imperative that you follow the rules of quarantine when bringing a new pet into your home when you have other felines. It is recommended that pets be kept apart during the Foster-to-Adopt period before going through slow method introductions.

FIV positive felines typically live a normal life span, however if infected with both FIV and FLV it may lead to shorter life span. FIV is species specific and does not affect other species or humans.

I/We acknowledge that I/we are responsible for any harm or damage my/our new pet may inflict on any person, animal, or property once I/we take physical possession of said pet. I/We commit to set my/our pet up for success with structured interactions and appropriate leash usage (if you decide to train your cat on leash).
I/we understand that the rescue does not condone time outside of the house at all during foster-to-adopt.

I/We agree that I/we will under no circumstances de-claw the cat/kitten and understand that doing so will entitle Three Little Pitties Rescue to reclaim the cat immediately regardless of foster/adoption status.

I/We agree NOT to register the pet’s microchip upon receiving the new pet, and to not replace the Three Little Pitties Rescue Tag to my/our own contact information. Once/if adoption is formalized the foster may register the chip and replace the tags.

I/We agree that the cat will be kept inside the home and not permitted to go outdoors at all during the foster-to-adopt period, except when being transported. When transport occurs, the cat shall be secured inside a pet carrier or backback specifically designed for pets.

*that Three Little Pitties Rescue may terminate this agreement at any point with verbal and written notice if they feel it is in the cats best interest; conditions and requirements are not being met and I/we will allow Three Little Pitties Rescue or representative to remove cat without argument, harassment or retaliation.


*that every person residing in my/our home is aware of this agreement, has no allergies to cats, does not display aggression towards animals/humans and will also comply fully with all conditions and requirements.


*to communicate with Three Little Pitties Rescue when they attempt to reach me/us via phone, text, email


*to comply with Three Little Pitties Rescue policies concerning this cat while the cat is still in temporary foster care


*to provide the cat with safe care, including but not limited to, quality food, fresh water, comfortable place to sleep, cat will reside inside my/our home with proper temperature (air conditioning/heating), exercise, grooming, training and medication when required, including monthly preventatives.


*that I/we will comply with all verbal and written instructions received from the Three Little Pitties Rescue and will not deviate from any instructions as to the care and maintenance of the cat without consulting with a representative of Three Little Pitties Rescue.


*that if I/we move, change phone numbers, email, etc.. I/we must notify Three Little Pitties Rescue in advance and in writing of the new information


*and understand that the custody of this cat will be temporary, to make it official I/we must complete adoption contract and pay remaining balance due


*to pay the deposit fee of $50.00 at the time of the signing of this agreement, which holds the cat so that no other parties can adopt during this agreement, unless said agreement is terminated in writing and agreed to by both parties. The remaining balance due is required upon completed adoption contract and/or expiration date of Foster-to-Adopt contract if I/we do not notify Three Little Pitties Rescue of my/our intention to adopt by such date, or whichever date comes first.


*the cat is and shall remain the sole property of Three Little Pitties Rescue until the adoption is finalized. If for any reason the adoption is not finalized, I/we understand that upon the request of Three Little Pitties Rescue the cat shall be relinquished to Three Little Pitties Rescue or representative.


*to provide current photos and videos of cat within 2 days of the request by Three Little Pitties Rescue.


*not to abandon, trade, give away, or sell the cat, nor will do to be used or sold for any use or research purposes. The cat is NEVER to be turned over to an animal shelter or passed to another owner.


*that the animal must stay in my/our direct care during the foster-to-adopt.


*to keep the cat under my/our control, not let the cat roam freely outside of the home. Cat may not be kept locked up in a crate.


*to provide basic training/reinforcement of proper house manners and obedience skills, never yelling or physical contact with cat.


*to properly supervise said cat at all times. I/we will be physically present when the cat is introduced to any new people, animals during foster-to-adopt.


*that I/We have been informed of any known prior behavior (good and bad) and I/We agree that said behaviors could be present while in my care.

*to contact Three Little Pitties Rescue immediately in the event the cat runs away, escapes or becomes lost. I/we agree to follow any instructions by Three Little Pitties Rescue in the attempts to locate and secure cat. I/we understand this may mean notifying local animal control, shelters, posting on neighborhood websites, local social media.

*that I/We will not bring the cat to pet stores, daycares, kennels, boarding or any location during the foster-to-adopt.

*that If the cat needs medical attention, a member of Three Little Pitties Rescue must be contacted immediately and must approve all vet visits. Said visit must be with one of Three Little Pitties Rescue’s approved vets. If FOSTER takes cat to an unapproved vet for any reason, FOSTER agrees to be responsible for ALL medical bills incurred for unapproved vet visits except in cases of emergency when the cat’s life is in danger.

*that Three Little Pitties Rescue will make arrangements for any vet appointments and I/We agree that I/We will take said cat to appointments and for any other necessary veterinary care as directed by Three Little Pitties Rescue unless other arrangements have been made by mutual agreement. I/We understand this may require time from my/our schedule at work, school, etc.

*that I/we give permission to Three Little Pitties Rescue or affiliates to enter premises/property at any time upon reasonable notice, unless said cat is feared to be in danger for determining whether or not I/we are complying with this Agreement, and to remove the cat in the event that I/we or anyone I/we allow access to cat violates the terms of this Agreement.

*that I/we understand should Three Little Pitties Rescue deem necessary; charges of neglect, abandonment or cruelty will be charged against me/us in regard to said cat.

*that I/We recognize this is an Agreement and have completed this Agreement freely and voluntarily.
