All volunteers must be a minimum of 18 years of age to apply to volunteer for Harvey's Hope. We strive to contact all applications with a confirmation email within 3-5 business days, but it can take 2-3 weeks for full application processing at times.

We generally know little to no information on how a dog will be in a home, car or event environment, and there are a number of behavioral issues that may arise, especially with stress. We do not have the ability to cat or child test our dogs, so it is very important that volunteers working directly with the animals are able to practice safe handling work and will with our team through many of these issues. Please describe how you would transport and/or handle the dogs if you are applying to volunteer with HHAR in-person:
Have you been involved in domestic disturbances in which the police were called? If so, explain.
Have you or a member of your household ever been arrested for a criminal offense? If so, explain.
How did you hear about us?
Is there anything else you would like to share with us?:
I understand that my application moving through the process (reference checks, interviews, etc.) does not guarantee I will be able to volunteer with HHAR and this can be revoked at any time.
I have completed this application fully and to the best of my ability, and I understand that at any time, HHAR reserves the right to deny or revoke my application.
I have read all of the documents at https://harveyshope.org/resources/ (incl. but not limited to FAQ, Welcome Guide, Parasites, Socializing, Parks, Space, etc.) and understand the stressors associated with transition.
At any time, you will be expected to keep the animal safe and secure, return it to HHAR immediately when requested to do so, and not promise the animal to anyone, or imply that you have the authority to approve a potential adoption. HHAR retains ownership of all animals, and will make all decisions regarding the adoption and placement of the animals. In the event I am provided with supplies to complete a volunteer task, all supplies will be returned to the local HHAR coordinator upon completion.
By signing below, I/we attest that I/we have read and understand the statements above. I/we certify that all the information contained in this application is true and correct. This agreement shall inure to the benefit of and be binding upon Volunteer and HHAR and their successors or beneficiaries. Both parties have fully read and understood all of the agreement, which sets forth all promises, conditions, and understandings, oral or written. I understand that although HHAR takes reasonable care to screen animals, it makes no guarantees relating to the animals’ health, behavior or actions. I understand that I volunteer at my own risk and can decline to accept any animal for which HHAR has asked me to provide care. I acknowledge that HHAR is not responsible for any property damage or personal injury suffered by me, members of my household, including my own animals, or any third parties during a volunteer task, and I assume liability to provide adequate controls, decompression and isolation to prevent such damage or injury. If for any reason I can no longer care for the animal, I agree to return the animal ONLY to Harvey’s Hope Animal Rescue. I agree that all the work I do is on a volunteer basis and I am not eligible to receive any monetary payment or reward.
