Congratulations! You have been approved to meet and potentially adopt a MatchDog. Below are a few important key items for you to read and understand. It is very important that you read them in their entirety.

Unfortunately, no current family pets are allowed at the meet. If you do bring a pet you will be asked to leave and we will consider it a no show.

If the dog you are approved for is not yet spayed or neutered you have 180 days from the date of the adoption to complete it. Unaltered dogs will have a $125.00 deposit added to the adoption fee which will be fully refunded once the dog is spayed/neutered. Please reference the Online Adoption Folder on our website (matchdogrescue.org) for details.

I understand that I must have my dog spayed or neutered within 180 days of adoption and that information is available on matchdogrescue.org on the process for spay/neuter reimbursement

This is an approval to meet the dog your application has been reviewed for. You are the only one who has been approved to meet this dog. We will only move forward with the adoption if all concerned parties agree that it is a great match. If the dog you have been approved to meet is arriving on transport day MatchDog reserves the right to place the dog into foster care for a few days before being adopted in those rare rare instances we feel the dog needs more time to recover from their journey.

I understand that this is a guarantee of a meet only with the intent to adopt, but either party reserves the right to not complete the adoption

MatchDog requires a deposit from the approved potential adopter at the time the MatchMaker and adopter agree to move forward. All deposits are made via Venmo only to @Matchdog-rescue. The MatchMaker who approved you will let you know what the deposit amount is. If when you come to the meet and any party decides to NOT follow through with the adoption your deposit will be fully refunded. However, if at any time after paying the deposit a potential adopter asks to withdraw or cancel the meet for any reason, or does not show at the agreed meet for any reason, the deposit will not be refunded and MatchDog will retain the deposit as a donation. In rare cases we bring dogs who require the entire adoption fee upfront and those dogs will only travel when they have an approved adopter. In these cases this is not a meet but a confirmed adoption and the fee is not refundable.

I understand that I have been approved to meet a MatchDog and it is my intent to adopt my chosen MatchDog, but neither party is obliged to complete the adoption. I also understand that if I cancel, withdraw, or otherwise do not show for the meet I will have forfeited my deposit.

The combined Adoption Contract and Vet Care agreement are now online in the Online Adoption Folder at MatchDogrescue.org. Please DO NOT complete this eContract until the date of adoption. When entering the adoption fee, please enter the full amount of the adoption fee that includes your deposit and your balance.
