About Stewie

Stewie. He is 6 years young and is a dog for anyone who loves big calm dogs.

Stewie loves people and loses his mind when you rub his belly or chest. He's good with kids, female dogs, and even cats. He is house trained and is fine left home alone and uncrated. Despite his size, he doesn't need a lot of room in the house and loves to chill and be with his family.  He previously lived in the same home for most of his life and is with us because his Mom passed away. Of course, he misses her but he has so much happiness and love still in him and he is ready to give it to a special someone. Are YOU that someone?

Stewie is currently being treated for Hypothyroidism.

This 3-year-old Brown Beauty is Belle. The petite pittie pooch is 50 pounds and is an absolute dream. She looks to her people for love and reassurance because Belle is a bit shy. This may explain why she is a cuddler extraordinaire! There is one thing Belle likes as much as hugs - toys! She loves toys. She loves to chase a toy or ball thrown for her but has not quite mastered the ‘return’ of fetch yet. So cute! Belle is comfortable both inside and outside. She walks well on a leash and loves to greet people in her neighborhood, though she is still very shy when initially meeting them. Her confidence has been building while in her new foster home. In fact, Belle has been attending outdoor martial arts classes with her foster mom. It is really helping her learn to trust people. It does take a bit longer with the men. While in foster, Belle has begun to learn about stairs, and she is really starting to get the hang of them. Occasionally, this little darling will nibble on a pillow or blanket near her face but her foster redirects the behavior, working to help Belle learn what is off limits. She enjoys leaning against her peeps, and likes a good belly rub. Belle is just such a love. She is a terrific dog and she is ready to be a part of YOUR family. Do you have a soft spot in your heart and your home for Belle? You can apply to adopt Belle at www.mostlymuttz.org/adoption-application/.  Additional adoption criteria:  Any children in the home must be 12 years of age or older. show less

Dan “the man” is a beagle/hound mix, who has had a really hard life. Dan is blind due to having a severe cataract in one eye and missing the other eye, which we understand he lost traumatically. He is also missing most of his teeth and partially deaf, but he responds to sharp sounds and commands. We estimate that Dan is nearly 12 years old, but that doesn’t stop him from showing his energy and affection. He was an outdoor dog for most of his life, so his likes are: rolling in the grass, lots of walks, and enjoying constant pets. In Dan’s newfound life, he’s gotten accustomed to the joys of couch naps, long and leisurely walks that allow him to smell everything, and fun encounters with everyone he meets. Dan is good with dogs, cats, and kids/elderly. However, high-energy animals and kids may startle him because he is blind. Dan would best be suited to a someone who can spend a good amount of time with him during the day, whether that be a family or a single person, preferably with a fully enclosed back yard. In his time as a foster, he has managed to escape through a gap in the fence and go on an adventure through the neighborhood. He is just starting to get the hang of being an indoor dog, so still occasionally has accidents, but he has learned enough to let you know when he needs to go out (I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks!). He’s also extremely affectionate and would love nothing more than to lay by your side. Please consider giving Dan a wonderful home to enjoy the “indoor” life. If you can provide the type of home that this loving old senior boy needs, you can apply to adopt OLD DAN at https://www.mostlymuttz.org/adoption-application/. show less

Peach is a very unique, Special Needs lady who is about 2.5-years-old. She is believed to be some sort of Shepherd mix and she weighs 45 pounds. Peach is an extremely Sweet and Loving girl and she is great with kids, other dogs, and even cats but can be a little fearful and snappish with men. She rides well in the car and is a terrific dog. She is currently in a foster home with several other dogs and two cats. She is crate trained and finds comfort in her "home".  Gentle and smart she is great in a fenced-in yard. While she gets along with others she would love all of the attention.    Peach was born with a rectovaginal fistula with anal atresia. In more understandable language, she has no butthole and she poops out of her vagina. She has lived a very normal life with this condition, up until now, so we are fairly certain that she will be fine going forward.   Some rescues would not even consider placing a dog like Peach. We knew what a Love she is and so now she is here and ready to find her Forever Home. If you want to be the Special Place for this very Special Girl, Peach is READY. Peach will possibly do well in a home with a doggie door and fence. Please contact us with any questions. You can apply to adopt Peach at www.mostlymuttz.org/adoption-application/. show less
