Animal's Name: BellaAnimal ID Number: 179814What should your foster's bio say?My name is Bella and I'm a 9 year old retriever mix who just loves to be loved. I have a very sweet personality and will latch onto my new owners quickly, following them everywhere and making sure they're safe. I want constant pets and affection and would love nothing more than a home with humans who can provide me with that. I'm pretty smart and can learn new tricks with a bit of persuasion (read: treats). While I am generally pretty calm, I love to play and run outside so I'd love a new owner who has space for me to be active regularly and/or likes to go on longer walks, runs, or hikes - and maybe a dog playmate I can enjoy hanging out with.I don't like when my people leave me, so please be patient if I whine or bark when I'm left alone. It will take some time for me to get used to my new home. What did you implement for house training? Do you think it's working? Bella was already really well house trained prior to coming to me. She learns boundaries quickly with a "no" or telling her to back up . She never had any issues with accidents or chewing things she wasn't supposed to.Have you introduced them to a crate? If so, what kind of crate and what was their reaction? I did not use a crate, but it might be something to look into if you are leaving her in a house alone. How many hours did you leave them home alone? What was their behavior like when left alone? Bella has some separation/anxiety issues that will need to be worked through. I left her alone for 2 hours max and only left her alone a couple of times during my time with her, but she tends to bark frequently when left home alone (she doesn't bark much normally) and may scratch a door or wall near a door in an attempt to follow you. She probably just needs some time to get used to any new schedule. What is their behavior like with other animals? She wants to play with any new dog she walks by, and gets very excited, but won't bark at them unless they bark first. She's never shown any aggression towards other dogs. She also really likes to chase squirrels. What is their behavior like with new people and/or children? : Bella loves new people as her favorite thing is to just be loved and get all kinds of pets. She gets excited but doesn't tend to jump on new people (she does sometimes jump on "her people" when she gets excited, but that's usually pretty gentle). I haven't seen how she interacts with children, but I imagine that she would just be the sweetest dog to have around kids with a little bit of training. Is there anything else that you would like the new adopter to know about this dog, such as any special tricks or adorable traits? Since I've had her I've taught Bella how to shake. She has also picked up a habit of using her paws to get my attention when I've stopped petting her or she just wants some extra attention, which is adorable (she's very persistent). Personality: Bunny is a social cat who will greet our staff at the door of her room. She enjoys petting and attention from people. She is happy hanging out being pet or playing with toys. History: Bunny was adopted from us previously, she was returned due to a change in the owner's living situation. Cat/Dog Skills: Bunny is currently living in our Sunshine room and enjoys the company of other relaxed cats. We do not have a history of Bunny and dogs. Medical: Bunny appears to have a condition called allergic dermatitis or atopy. With this condition, the cat has allergies to common things in his or her environment such as pollens, grasses, dust mites, and fleas or other external parasites. As a response to these allergies, cats with this condition tend to develop itchy skin, ear infections, and ulcers of the lips/face/nose. This cat in particular has developed "rodent ulcers" which are chronically inflamed lesions along the top lip. This condition is not curable and is usually life-long, but can be managed with an owner who is committed to providing medicated baths, antibiotics, and anti-histamines, among other treatments prescribed by their veterinarian. On 7/12/20, we treated the cat with a long-acting steroid. This may improve her condition for a few weeks, but the adopting family must be willing to pursue further medical care as needed to manage her skin condition and to keep her comfortable.Ready to meet Bunny? Hi, my name is Chico. I am a sweet little boy, all black fluff and purrs. I like to set still and watch quietly what's going on, and then I'll dive in for all the fun. Once I've met you, my favorite spot is curled up on your shoulder, under your chin. But I still love my chasing my toys around the room. And I'll share a secret with you. I have a tiny bend at the end of my tail. It makes me unique. Please ask to meet me.How does your cat react when being held? How does your cat feel about being picked up? Loves being held and being picked up. Purrs when being petted or held. How do they play with you? He's one of three kittens, so plays more with his fellow kittens than with me. But he will chase wands and balls. What is their behavior like with new people and/or children? : Very docile when meeting new people. Let's them hold him. Has not met any children. What is their behavior like with other animals? Curious about my other cats, but does not run up to them. What kind of litter box setup did you have for your cat? How would you describe their success using the litter box? I had several uncovered litter boxes around the room where he stayed, plus one box in our family room, so he could always find one. He is good about peeing and pooping in the box.Is there anything else that you would like the new adopter to know about this cat, such as any special tricks or adorable traits? He's comfortable being by himself and watching the world. He likes to be on your shoulder or above your head on a chair. He purrs when you pet him. He's sweet and quiet. He knows the words "Who's hungry?" and will come running when he hears it, assuming you're about to put a plate of food down. Primary Color: Black Weight: 1.86 Age: 0yrs 3mths 0wks show less
