About Hiccup

Hiccup, and his brother, Pickles are ready for their next adventure in their new home! They are taking their show, The Hic and Pic Show, and taking it on the road. Future episodes are sure to include wrestling, running, hunting, snuggling, and purring. If this sounds like a show you would like to binge, then these are the characters for you! Like all kittens, Hic and Pic are high energy, and absolutely adore toys! Climbing, running, and jumping are always on the agenda! But when they nap, they seek out their hooman, and flop themselves down for a good snuggle! If you would like to meet and possibly adopt Hiccup, and his brother, Pickles, contact Cindy: (773)203-0215, or email: cindy@chicagocatrescue.org At Chicago Cat Rescue, we are dedicated to both the physical and emotional well being of the cats and kittens in our care. For this reason, unless expressly stated, we do not place cats or kittens in homes where they will be the only cat. Generally cats love the company of other cats, and can become quite lonely when living alone. Kittens will only be placed in pairs, or to join another kitten or young cat in your home. CCR adopts to homes in Chicago, or to homes that are within a few miles of our foster families. We do not ship cats or kittens. No exceptions. Chicago Cat Rescue is an entirely foster based organization. Our ability to help more cats in need is dependent on our availability of foster homes. If you think you could provide a loving foster situation for a cat in need, or would like to learn more about our foster program, please email us, info@chicagocatrescue.org. Thank you!

One word best describes our Angella. SWEET. If you need another word to describe her, it would be SWEETEST. This angelic young cat arrived at CCR from a downstate pound, with her four babies in tow. Angella was a stellar mom, whose gentle disposition was evident from the start. She would be a wonderful family cat for a household with respectful children. Angellas kittens have all been adopted and this momma is ready for her forever. Though we generally prefer to adopt in pairs, we think Angella will be happiest as a solo cat. While she tolerates other cats, she really would prefer a home to herself. If you would like to meet and possibly adopt Angella contact Cindy: (773)203-0215, or email: cindy@chicagocatrescue.org At Chicago Cat Rescue, we are dedicated to both the physical and emotional well being of the cats and kittens in our care. You would never know by her sweet and playful demeanor that Anneke had come to us an emaciated and suffering cat. She was found by a friend of one of our volunteers, weighing less than 4lbs, starving and sick. Her endearing personality and sweet nature were evident, even then. Now Anneke is ready for her forever home. She gets along great with other cats, and is very playful. Her favorite thing in the whole wide world is toys! This girl is addicted to them! She is ready to share toys with another kitty, and keep you entertained with her antics. Afterwards, she will snuggle in with you, and keep your lap warm. Anneke is a very petite cat, just around 6lbs, but is full grown. Most who see her think she is a kitten, and her playful ways add to the effect. Big, soulful eyes, and a bunny soft coat, and this girl is a winner, inside and out. Anneke is a very cat-friendly girl, so she will need a cat buddy. She would make the perfect "buddy cat" for your existing cat, or be paired with another cat-friendly cat. We will not place her as a solo cat. If you would like to meet and possibly adopt wonderful Anneke, contact Cindy: (773)203-0215, or email: cindy@chicagocatrescue.org At Chicago Cat Rescue, we are dedicated to both the physical and emotional well being of the cats and kittens in our care. Maybe he's so joyful now because he knows what it means to be homeless. Maybe he simply came into this world with a stellar temperament. All we know is that, ever since we pulled him from our local animal control, our sweet Barisic is one happy cat! Barisic is gentle, good natured, and easy going. He lives in a foster home with a school age child, so we can guarantee that Barisic will be your perfect family pet. He'll wait patiently as you drink your first cup of morning coffee, and greet you at the door after a long day. Yours, not his! We suspect he'd even tolerate wearing antlers for your annual holiday card! Barisic is positive for both FeLV and FIV. That's the risk we humans impose on cats who are allowed outdoors, or worse, who are abandoned outside altogether. But Barisic is grateful for the life he has now, and we're confident that he plans to enjoy it as long as possible! We don't know what the future holds for Barisic. Cats who are FeLV positive can remain asymptomatic for many years. What we do know is that giving a home to a cat like Barisic will earn you a place in this wonderful cat's heart. And that's a gift that you'll cherish forever. If you would like to meet and possibly adopt this amazing feline, contact Cindy: (773)203-0215, or email: cindy@chicagocatrescue.org At Chicago Cat Rescue, we are dedicated to both the physical and emotional well being of the cats and kittens in our care. Charlie and his kin Honey (we aren't sure if she is his mom or sister) were rescued after months alone, their owner went in to assisted living. We are thankful for the neighbor who helped to feed them and alerted us of their case. Understandably, Charlie is a bit timid of noises and will need some time to warm up to his new home; but his foster mom reports he is a love bug and loves to sleep next to her. He loves to play, as well as purr and headbutt to show his affection. They are both good with other cats. Charlie and Honey will make a great addition to a quiet home, they are a boded pair and will be adopted together. Honey and her kin Charlie (we aren't sure if he is her son or brother) were rescued after months alone, their owner went in to assisted living. We are thankful for the neighbor who helped to feed them and alerted us of their case. Honey is a dilute tortie, and follows the tortie stereotype of being a bit sassy. She is not a lap cat, but loves to sleep next to her foster mom. They are both good with other cats. Honey is very playful and trainable, her foster mom has taught her to highfive and waving bye bye is in the process! Both cats mind their own business, but Honey does love attention and she will reach out and tell you when she is in need. Charlie and Honey will make a great addition to a quiet home, they are a boded pair and will be adopted together. Those piercing green eyes, that sleek black fur. . . Klondike was voted Most Handsome House Panther of 2020! Klondike is a sweet boy, gentle, affectionate and friendly. He loves to be in the presence of his humans, sitting next to you or cuddled at your feet. Klondike loves to play with his wand toy, and a favorite pastime is navigating his cat tree. Oh, and chin scratches and ear pets are a sure fire way to win his affection! Klondike’s foster home is likely the first home that he’s ever known. It took a while for him to settle in, but settle in he did! We think Klondike will thrive in a calmer home environment, one in which he has either a good amount of human companionship or the companionship of a like-minded kitty. Klondike is “double positive”, which means he is positive for both FeLV and FIV. Cats who test positive for these viruses are not sickly cats! In fact, Klondike is the picture of health! FeLV and FIV are very different viruses, but they are often viewed as one and the same. While FIV positive cats can live long lives, Klondike’s FeLV positive status may shorten his life. FeLV positive cats are at risk for serious illness if the virus becomes active, but there is no way of knowing if or when this might happen. While FIV positive cats can safely live with FIV negative cats, FeLV positive cats may spread the FeLV virus to other cats. For this reason, Klondike can only live with other FeLV or FeLV/FIV positive cats. We realize that Klondike’s future is more of an unknown. But what we do know is that this sweet, loving cat needs a forever home. Klondike is NOT special needs. But he IS special, and he needs a special person to love and cherish him. Are you that special person? If so, please contact Cindy: (773)203-0215, or email: cindy@chicagocatrescue.org At Chicago Cat Rescue, we are dedicated to both the physical and emotional well being of the cats and kittens in our care. Hello, I am Raleigh! I have a calm purr-sonality. Very chill guy. Give me a window to stare out of with sunlight to bathe in and I’ll be one happy cat. When I am feeling adventurous, I LOVE to climb up high (like I am on a meowntain!) Also I go bananas over laser pointers. I’ll catch that little red dot someday! I am shy at first, but once you get to know me I am the absolute sweetest. Please be patient with me and I will come to you when I am ready! LIVING WITH OTHER PETS: Raleigh lived with an older dog in his last home. They got along well. He is currently paired with Tuffy, another CCR kitty. The boys get along well, and we'd love to place them together. *** If you would like to meet and possibly adopt this amazing feline, contact Cindy: (773)203-0215, or email: cindy@chicagocatrescue.org At Chicago Cat Rescue, we are dedicated to both the physical and emotional well being of the cats and kittens in our care. Reno is as sweet as sugar. Since he isn’t vocal, he seems to keep his opinions to himself! This lovable cat loves to snuggle and climb to high places, and he can often be found on top of the refrigerator or at the top of a cat tree. This little buddy loves to give headbutts and seeks to make good friends with the people he lives with. He loves to be pet and doted on, and belly rubs are his favorite! As with any cat, Reno needs some time to get to know people, but his foster mom says he blossoms the more you get to know him. He is a gentle soul. Reno has been living with his CCR foster brother Styles. The boys get along really well and play together, and they’d be great as an adopted pair. However, Reno and Styles haven’t been together long enough to qualify as a bonded pair. We’d be willing to place Reno in a home with another young male cat as a playmate and companion.
