About Sammy

Sammy is a beautiful brown tabby who unfortunately has found herself in a sad situation. Her previous owner, a nurse practitioner at New York Presbyterian, passed away in a car accident a few weeks ago on her way to work leaving behind her wife and their twin toddler sons. The family made a difficult decision to move to Chicago to be closer to their extended family but unfortunately was not able to take the cats with them. Sammy’s brother, Brady, already found a home. But Sammy has not. Sammy is a total love–super friendly, and just wants to sit next to you on the couch and get pets. Sammy loves following her foster mom around the apartment, gets along well with dogs, and doesn’t even mind birds! Sammy is around 14 years old, and does have some thyroid issues, but they are well controlled with a daily pill that she eats as a treat. Even though she lived with another cat before, we were told that he often stressed her out so we think Sammy will do best as an only cat. Who wants to give this sweet lady another chance at life? Please contact us DIRECTLY using the instructions below if you are interested in adopting one of our Waggytails! Visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application.
