About Bernie

**** PLEASE NOTE: **** Given the number of inquiries we receive, before we will speak with you or answer any questions you have about this pet, you MUST fill out an adoption application. Without an application, we will not contact you back. Thank you for following our necessary steps to get answers to your questions. We appreciate it! The best thing about Bernie? Her smiles! She’s a lovely, 8-year-old lab/shepherd mix who weighs 70 pounds. Bernie loves car rides, treats, and playing with her toys. She does great inside stores. She's also a great guard dog: she'll alert you when she hears something. She’s heart worm negative, spayed, up to date on vaccines, current on heart worm and flea prevention, and ready for adoption!

**** PLEASE NOTE: **** We receive a large number of inquiries. You MUST fill out an adoption application on our website in order to get a response from us. Do not click the button on this page! Adoption application link: https://www.footbridgefoundation.org/application/  Without an application, we will not contact you back. Thank you for following our necessary steps to get answers to your questions. We appreciate it! Hope, who is three months old now, came to us as our first bottle baby of the 2020 season in March. She was found in the street in the rain by a Good Samaritan and brought to a vet clinic where Kate, one of our fosters, works. Kate rushed this tiny baby to Erin and Matt, who bathed her to get all the fleas off and quickly got her into their incubator. Matt is a veterinarian. Erin is a vet technician. And they are our neonatal experts. They have an incubator and have saved many kittens. Over the last several weeks, Erin and Matt have cared for Hope and our amazing Footbridge Foundation supporters and fans participated in a donation and naming contest during which Hope’s name was drawn at random from the suggested names we received. But, the name suits her perfectly. We had hope she would recover from the dire circumstances in which she was found. And, she gives us hope for the future. Hope is now perfectly healthy! She’s FIV/FeLV negative, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, on flea prevention, spayed, and she’s ready to be adopted! show less
