About Jenny

A 95-year-old woman, Ruth, recently died leaving behind two cats, Ginger and Jenny. At first, Jenny was sad and very frightened. She hid wherever possible, for as long as possible, and would not eat or drink unless food and water were placed in her hiding spot. Over the next two weeks, I started to close each door in my house, forcing Jenny to move (and explore) the other rooms. Soon the only place left was the living room, with me, and no place to hide. Slowly grief and fear gave way to little miracles. One day while brushing her, I heard the most incredible sound – a faint purr! I couldn't believe it. Another day, while petting her, Jenny rolled over for a belly rub – a true sign of trust! And this morning she came running into the kitchen to eat instead of waiting for her food to arrive – another step forward! It’s been wonderful to witness and take part in Jenny’s journey through life. She is a mature cat, calm and quiet, but chatty when hungry or being brushed or stroked – her way of saying “thank you.” Adopt Jenny and you, too, will enjoy her peacefulness and receive nothing but eternal gratitude from this beautiful, baby girl.
