Meet Sierra, a beautiful, spayed female black Lab mix. She is young, 1.5 years old, weighs 61 pounds and is full of energy. She is crate trained, housebroken, and does well riding in the car. When it’s time for a walk, she will sit while you put her collar on, but once outside, she will pull hard and definitely needs more leash training. Sierra is high energy and tends to be mouthy. She has the excitability level of a puppy and will require strong, but calm discipline and leadership. Her forever home will need to set boundaries, providing consistent reinforcement and structure so Sierra can become the best she can be. Due to her boundless energy and tendency to jumping, young children in the home would not be recommended. To help her get the appropriate exercise and energy release, Sierra would love to have a furry play buddy, so another dog in the home who appreciates her energy would be a bonus. She has not been around cats, but with her puppy-like enthusiasm, it is likely she would chase them. So, a home without cats is a must. She loves being outside--walking, running and constantly moving. Since she does like to jump, she will need a secure backyard with a fence she cannot jump over. If you are willing to commit the time, energy and love to work with Sierra, she has the potential to be a devoted companion.
