Our adoption fee is $400-$800. if a biography does not otherwise say then it is $400. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescueBailey is a 6 month old young man. He and his sister were rescued by a kind woman who called and asked us to take them in. How could we resist this charming guy. He is not only super handsome, he is smart and clever too. He has a good amount of young kitty energy and he loves climbing the cats tree in his foster home. He is usually the one that goes straight to the top tier. We think he enjoys keeping an eye on everyone.     He can easily join a home with another cat or cat savvy dog. He is very sweet and has a cuddly side to him. His foster mom calls him a big softy. He is already a big cat for his age but we think he's going to be even bigger when full grown, he needs to grow into those paws! Bailey wants nothing more than to devote his life to his new person or family. Is that you? Apply to adopt him today. He has been neutered, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treatment applied and microchipped. His adoption donation is $150.     show less

We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescueOur Bartok is a handsome longhaired young man that was in dire need of rescuing. He was found with dozens of abscesses on his body. Our vet said he had been attacked by something, what we don't know, but it was clear he was suffering. After he was shaved down and the wounds were tended too, he started to feel so much better and was so grateful for the help he was given.  Our vet says he is about 2 years old. He is quite fluffy, sweet and follows his foster mom around everywhere. He is being fostered in a busy household. He thrives in that type of home. He likes a lot of stimulation whether it be from his humans, dogs or other cats. He likes to be right in the middle of all the action and that's the type of forever home we would like to place him in. Many cats need a quieter environment, not Bartok, he likes an active home, that's where he will shine. Everyone loves him and we hope his potential forever home sees this profile and applies to adopt him today! He's a great kitty that deserves a happy life. Bartok has been neutered, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treatment applied and microchipped. His adoption donation is $100. show less

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fee is $400-$800. if a biography does not otherwise say then it is $400. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescueAdoption Fee: $500 Betty Boop is a 3 year old Tibetan Terrier-Poodle mix. She has a non-shedding coat that is an option for those who have allergies. She had to be shaved down because she was matted to her skin. One of her before pictures is the last one listed. She was a rescue from the shelter. She was listed as a stray. She was taken from a high kill shelter that euthanizes more than half of their intakes. We were told about her and they agreed to release her to us. She weighs about 25lbs and probably could stand to gain a few pounds as well. Notes from her Foster Mom, 'Betty Boop is generally calm and loves to sit beside me. She was shy in the beginning but her playful side is starting to come out. After a walk, she runs around the backyard and jumps into the air. I expect that she'll become more and more playful as time goes on. She often quickly settles and is happy to lie in her dog bed most of the day as long as her people are around her.' Betty Boop is incredibly food motivated. She is eager to do anything for a treat or attention from her person. Betty Boop has been fostered with other dogs and does great with them. She has started crate and housetraining but will need to continue on in her forever home. She is a great leash walker and basically heels next to you. As her personality has come out, she is increasingly interested in the world around her and sniffing flowers on the walk and generally engaging in the world outside instead of being fearful of it. Betty Boo is incredibly easy to please and wants to be with her person. Her entire body shakes with excitement when she sees you, even if you've only left the room for a minute. BB respects boundaries and is trained very easily. So if you want a smart dog look no further. She learned how to sit in 2 days. Her foster mom said sometimes she turns around and BB has been sitting behind her for minutes in hopes of getting a treat! She does not get on the furniture and her foster home has trained her to not go upstairs, so she patiently waits at the bottom (although there is no gate stopping her). Betty Boop is best suited for a home that has had shy dogs previously and demonstrates so on their application and/or an adults who are dog savvy having had dogs their entire life. If there are children in the home they need to be over the age of 8 and very dog savvy. show less

We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescueAdoption Fee: $450 Brooklyn & Manhattan are 6 month old Pomeranian x Dachshund mixes. They were a rescue from central California where their family could no longer care for them. They are both under socialized but have improved since entering our rescue. They are looking for families that are ready to show a puppy the ropes and how to be dogs. We are not looking to place them together but rather to separate them and let them blossom separately. Keeping them together only increases their shyness. They are current calmer puppies but that may change once they settle in and their true personalities begin to show but we don’t know yet. They are both dog friendly and love to play. They find their confidence with other dogs. Having another dog will make their transition so much easier. We will be focusing on homes with other dogs initially to find them a home. They are both snugglers once they have time to know you and they love to give kisses too. They have started house and crate training but will need to continue those in their forever homes. They know how to use a doggy door.  Brooklyn and Manhattan are only options for those who have had a dog of their own in the last 3 years and those with experience with under socialized dogs is a bonus. If there are children in the home they need to be over the age of 8 and dog savvy.  show less

They were rescued from a hoarding situation. He is on the shy side and certain situations scare him as he did not have proper socialization growing up. But with a confident person by his side showing him the ways of the world he will grow and blossom into the wonderful dog we know he is.  Chicken Little is currently being fostered with his sibling Dumbo. They have started crate training and potty training but will need to continue the training at their respective new homes. They are not nuisance barkers but will let their foster mom know when strangers approach. Chicken Little is a huge cuddler and kisser. He will not stop showing you his affection once he is familiar to you. He has started leash training but his new home will need to continue the training and help him boost his confidence on walks. He has met a few strangers on the walk and although he was initially scared, he relaxed very soon and was okay with being petted. He is just starting to realize how much fun it is to play with a tennis ball! We are sure he will discover all the fun about toys in no time. Chicken Little is only an option for those who have had a dog their own in the last three years. He doesn't mind going on walks but he's not a dog who wants to go on long runs or hikes. He's the dog who would rather be carted around in a purse! Clarence previously lived with dogs. He currently lives in a home with other dogs. He is an option to live with dogs or to live by himself. He could be someone's one and only. He deserves a lot of love. He had lived in a home where he has never had a bed of his own, bully sticks, pig's ears, treats, kongs, anything...We want him to have a home that smothers him in love and offers him all kinds of goodies.  Clarence hasn't proven to be a barker. He could live in an apartment or condo setting. He also could be a dog who joins Mom or Dad in their office if they have a dog friendly office. He is overall a mellow boy who gets burst of energy when it’s time to go for an adventure. Once he’s comfortable he is a spunky happy go lucky dog. He loves to go for walks, they are one of his favorite things to do.  Cody has met multiple dogs since entering the rescue. He has started to enjoy playing with his canine friends and he's gained confidence with them. He is an excellent option to join a home that has another dog. If the dog is playful, Yay! If the dog isn't, that's ok with him too. He just likes the company. He gets overwhelmed in dog park settings, so he's more of a homebody type. He could be an option for a retired couple that is dog savvy and/or has a dog of their own. Cody loves loves loves toys. He has a 'play session' every morning. His favorite toy is the plushy moose toy. But he does not discriminate. He likes all toys. So get the toy box ready for our boy. If you are looking for an affectionate dog who doesn't need to be on your lap but likes to be close and receiving affection, that's our boy. He has not proven to be a barker. He would be an option for those who live in an apartment. The only time his foster mom has heard him bark was when he saw his reflection. He will bark if he's allowed to sit in the window and watch people coming and going out of the house. But otherwise he's not a barker. Cody is a dog for a home that doesn't have a steady stream of people coming and going from the house. He'd rather be in his crate if folks are coming over. Cody is only an option for those who have had a dog of their own before and are dog savvy. If there are children in the home they need to be over the age of 8. show less

Best of luck in your search for another dog and pls check out some of the other DPS dogs!*** Adoption Fee: $650 The Drinks litter are 9 weeks old. Their Mom and Dad were both purebred ACD's. The family who had the litter didn't set out to have a litter. They simply didn't have the money to alter their dogs. We were made aware of the situation that they were looking to find homes for the puppies. The parents are being altered so there won't be more puppies. We agreed to place this litter. We expect based on the parents that they will be in the 45lbs range when full grown. It is clear they were well taken care of as were the parents. They are amazingly socialized and very friendly with people The Drinks litter is currently in a foster home with dogs, cats and children. They have a blast playing with the friendly Doodle and stay away from the Doodle who doesn't want to play but they know that the cats rule the house. They are learning manners from their canine friends. They are also learning how to respect the cats. The Drinks litter are playful, social, ready to venture off into their new homes. The Drinks litter love playing with toys. They also have been introduced to bully sticks and pig's ears. They are being taught young to chew on the appropriate toys! The puppies are starting on housetraining. They are also learning all about crate training. The puppies will be active, energetic, full of life puppies. They are a herding breed and that means a need for activity and mental stimulation. They are not an apartment dwelling breed. They are a hiking, biking, running kind of pups. The Drinks Litter is only an option for those who have had a dog in the last 3 years. If there are children they need to be over the age of 6.   show less
