Mogo is a 2 year old Formosan Mountain Dog mix who was found living in an outdoor market in Taiwan after his owner passed away. This is the place where his owner took him as part of their daily activity. A rescuer saw him and decided to take the chance to get him a real home. To see more pictures and videos of Mogo, visit http://pets.adoptgair.org/pets.php?pid=20301 To start the adoption process, please fill out an application at http://www.adoptgair.org/adoptionapplication Mogo was initially flown to California and adopted by a family living in the Bay Area. He is quick to cuddle up on the couch while watching movies and enjoys going for daily walks. He is generally a mellow dog who likes to lounge about and sunbathe, and loves going for jogs in the cool evenings. He is working on his leash skills and will benefit from continued training. So far, he has learned sit and is learning bow, down, touch, and thresholds. Mogo can be slow to warm up to you, and is most interested in giving and receiving love from a few very close people. Since arriving in California, a few instances have occurred requiring behavior modifications. We believe that as he is settling down, he is beginning to become possessive and guard some of the things he finds valuable (e.g. high value treats or territory) and the home that he is currently in is not properly suited to address these issues. These guarding behaviors have included instances of growling, barking, lunging and on two occasions snapping (without breaking any skin or drawing any blood) at those he does not have a close relationship with. While Mogo has shown that he is okay living among cats, We believe he would do best in a home without them, and due to his more recent insecurities is better he is in a home free from small children. Mogo would thrive in an experienced home with a confident owner, who will set boundaries and invest time in training. Mogo is an incredibly sweet, loving, quirky and easy going boy who just needs some patience and stability to flourish. show less
