Sweet Little Mama Kitty Allison was found with her five kittens. She did a great job caring for them and raising them so that they could be adopted and now she is enjoying the comforts of being in a home. She is so excited when I give her a meal and loves to get treats. Every time I go into the kitchen, she runs in with me and asks for food. She loves to be petted and loves to be brushed. And she loves to play with her yellow mouse toy. Age: 2 to 4 years How I came to PAWS: found stray Animal ID#: A44050364 I am not at the shelter.  Friendly Bernard is a handsome boy looking for the perfect cuddle companion! Bernard looks like a tough guy but is the biggest softy around. This handsome boy loves head rubs, belly rubs, back rubs and really any kind of rub. He really warms up to anyone willing to pet him and will put up with a little bit of feather play time before going back for more pets. He is getting used to living in a home but honestly couldn’t love it more. Give him a rub and a nice couch and that’s all this friendly boy wants in his life. Bernard is FeLV positive. FeLV stands for Feline Leukemia Virus. It is a viral infection of cats that affects a cat’s immune system. FeLV is not contagious to humans or other species such as dogs, but it is to other cats so Bernard should be an only cat or live in a home with other FeLV positive cats. While there is currently no cure, with the right supportive care Bernard can go on to live a perfectly happy, normal life!  I'm the sweetest purr machine! Hi, my name is Bill and I am a 6-month old kitten that loves everyone. I have the cutest little mustache and a little heart spot on my side. My favorite toys are catnip toys and I can play fetch but most of the time I don’t bring it back :). I also love fuzzy blankets to make muffins in and to get all cuddly when it's time to sleep. When I got to PAWS, I had a broken pelvis and I was limping. I'm all better now and still gaining a little more muscles in my back right leg. Also I do have a ringworm infection but I’m on medication for it and my last test was actually negative. I'm ready to be adopted, don’t worry!    Hello Future forever family, my name is Bryson and I’m a very good boy. I’m very easygoing dude who enjoys hanging out on the window sill getting tanned and watching the animals outside. I also love being petted as I chill on the couch with my favorite human, YOU.  I recently moved to a foster home, it’s better than the shelter but I’d love to my MVP - most valuable person - just for me.  When I was at the shelter I think people were overlooking me because I have a different ear, but I just think it makes me even more handsome, at least that is what my foster mom says, and I truly believe her.  Since I’m an adult cat, I’d love to go to a home where I can be the one and only, nothing against other pets, but a place all for myself is definitely what I wish for.  Do you think I can be my soulmate?  Capella is a beautiful young lady who has lots of love to give! Capella is very easygoing and elegant. She does not require much attention, but she really appreciates it when you do give her attention! As a very calm, gentle, and friendly cat, she always purrs and sometimes rubs her body against yours to show her affection. She enjoys head scratches a lot, and she loves rolling out on a soft surface and taking a nap. Her favorite thing, other than food, is any cardboard box. She just loves them! She can be playful after she has had enough sleep, especially with wand toys. If you are looking for a mellow companion, you should take home Capella!  If you’re looking for the perfect cuddle companion (and true Netflix enthusiast), Charlie is the kitty for you! Affectionate, easy-going and friendly, Charlie is the definition of a dream cat. Charlie loves nothing more than to be in your presence, he’ll be your cute little shadow! Charlie is a special, sweet boy looking to complete your household! While Charlie was brought into PAWS a little banged up as a stray, you would never know it. He warms up to you instantly, and enjoys giving and receiving affection. Charlie is FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) positive, which is a common virus typically causing a weakening of the cat’s immune system. However, it is not contagious to humans or other species such as dogs. FIV hasn't stopped Charlie one bit! In your care he can enjoy a happy, normal life with no apparent health problems resulting from the virus. He is very outgoing, independent, energetic and curious. Charlie likes to explore new environments and is social with new people. Age: 2-4 years How I came to PAWS: Found stray Animal ID#: A44081892 Location: PAWS' Grays Ferry clinic.  Chompers is a very special cat in need of a very special home! He is an absolute joy to have around, just has slightly limited mobility and may need an extra hand here and there as he explores. He loves attention and is content to sit with you on your bed or couch and purr up a storm as you pet his super soft fur! He keeps himself occupied fairly well, likes playing with his little stuffed mouse toy and lounging as he watches the world go by.  Chomper has suspected Cerebella Hypoplasia (CH)- or "wobbly cat syndrome." Cats are born with this condition, and it will affect him for life without getting worse or better. CH occurs in-utero when the part of a cat's brain that controls motion isn't fully developed by the time they are born. Some cats have very light forms of CH, while others will be extra wobbly! Chompers is somewhere in the middle- he generally can get around just fine, but sometimes needs a little help when trying to jump in bed, for example. He can navigate small steps, but would do best without access to full stair cases, to keep him safe (he can go up, but getting down is much tougher and less safe). He has learned to improvise well with this slight limitation, but he does not climb much, rarely uses his claws (only on a scratching post, never in play) and generally just loves to take things easy and hang around his people. Chompers likes short cat trees, and loves his scratching posts. CH cats generally have an easier time in carpeted areas, but while his mobility is technically limited he has few issues getting around his foster home. He does have some sensitivity toward his lower back that prompts him to roll over when touched there, so an adults-only home may be a better match for him. He would be content with a family that's around a lot (even older or retired folks!) to give him attention, but who can be very mindful of his condition and help him out should he get stuck somewhere.  PAWS has done several diagnostics on Chompers, and he looks pretty healthy besides having CH. But if someone wanted to look further into the condition at their own vet, they are welcome to! Chompers still appears to have a great quality of life and doesn't think there is anything 'wrong' with him- he still lives his life to the fullest!  Do you like strong women? Then Fortuna is the cat for you! This survivor was found crying for help under a car in Old City. She was very underweight, grey from grime, and had an old break to her front leg that had healed poorly, rendering her leg unusable. After a Good Samaritan saved her, PAWS vets determined that the broken leg was causing Fortuna a lot of pain, so she had an amputation and entered foster care to recover. She has transformed from a scrawny, sad and dirty cat to a beautiful, happy and robust tripod! She gets around perfectly well on three legs. In fact, her little bunny hop is completely adorable. In case you were worried, she has perfect litter box habits despite the missing leg.  She loves to tuck into bed for a long snooze and is a quiet cat who would do well in a calm home where she is the only cat and her family consists of adults and respectful children (she's not a huge fan of being picked up).  Her truest enemy in the world is the vacuum cleaner.  She is very sweet, though a bit reserved, and would love an understanding home where she can blossom at her own pace. You can also see more pictures of her on Instagram at @gabz73. Age: 4-5 years How I came to PAWS: Rescued as an injured stray Animal ID#: A43469884 I am not at the shelter.  Fuzzy is the most loving cat I've ever met! He is very well behaved and just wants your love and attention. His previous owners say he is 14 but he seems much younger than that to me due to being so active! Fuzzy was a little shy at first but came out of his shell almost immediately! Fuzzy would be a great addition into your home :) Age: 14 years How I came to PAWS: owner surrender due to age Animal ID#: A44079358 I am not at the shelter.   Gilligan is steering his way straight to your heart! With his goofy grin and gregarious personality, it's hard to believe Gilligan was found on the city streets. He's an older guy that's bouncy and playful, full of energy and enthusiasm. Gilligan enjoys morning jogs and outdoor adventures, but also knows how to settle down for relaxed couch time at the end of a fun day. Gilligan will be a great fit for a dog-experienced household that enjoys staying active and having fun as much as he does!
