Baxter is a 3 year old Jack Russell Terrier mix. He has great hair!! All his vet work is done and he is ready to roll! He is extremely sweet and loving with his owner and is always ready for a tummy rub and a hug. Baxter walks well on a leash. He's super duper cute. He's great with people, friendly and playful. He enjoys running around in the yard and looking for varmints! Baxter will keep you safe from lizards, frogs, gophers, moles, and pesky squirrels. Like all JRTs, he wants to "get after things”. In order to adopt Baxter you need JRT experience. If you have never had one he will not be a good fit for you. He will need a securely fenced yard and an owner who can give him a lot of attention and positive reinforcement. If you are gone 8 hours a day he is not going to be a good fit in your home. Baxter requires a home with no kids, no cats, and no other dogs. We will not do an out of state adoption for Baxter. His adopter must be able to drive to the Corsicana, Texas area to get him. A home check and good vet reference are mandatory to adopt Baxter. His adoption fee is $200. If you feel that this adorable little bundle of dynamite is the right dog for you please fill out the online application at www.russellrescue.com. I will get back with you as soon as I get it. Braveheart!!! What a great dog!!! This little guy is about three years old and is an extremely well bred Jack Russell Terrier. He is super healthy and has had all vet work done. Braveheart is in the prime of his life and he needs a Jack Russell savvy owner. If you have never had a Jack Russell before, he is not the right dog for you. If you are gone all day, he is not the right dog for you. Braveheart needs to be an ONLY DOG. He does not get along with others. He will not tolerate cats or any other critters. Also...no kids. Like all well bred JRT’s he is easily stimulated and very excitable. He needs a lot of exercise and attention from someone who will love him forever. Braveheart needs a securely fenced backyard and an owner who is home at least part of the time. He also needs a lap to sit in and someone to snuggle with. And did I say exercise...he needs a lot of exercise! Running and playing in the back yard with a loving owner is what he needs!! If you are interested in Braveheart, you will need to go to www.russellrescue.com and fill out the online adoption application. A home check and a good vet reference are mandatory to adopt him. You will need to call your vet and let them know that it is okay to talk to me when I call them. His adoption fee is $200. Braveheart’s adopter must be able to drive to the Houston, Texas area to get him. Contact: jolleyjames@sbcglobal.net show less

Dulce in Goliad, Texas!! Everyone say hello to this cute, cute girl!!! We got this little girl in several weeks ago. I know she's a mix, but she is going to need a home that understands Jack Russells. We named her Dulce, meaning sweet in Spanish, and she is SUPER sweet. Of course, she has over the top energy! She is maybe about 2 or 3 years old, weighs around 15 pounds. She has been fully vetted, spayed, heartworm tested negative, vaccinated, wormed with strongid, microchipped, first dose of heartworm preventative, and a Nexgard, and she had a dental done where they had to pull a couple teeth. She seems to get along great with other dogs. Not sure about cats, but she does not seem overly excited when she sees one! Dulce is very agile and athletic so no chain link for this girl. She was found at a local motel in Goliad, Texas and sadly, no one ever claimed her. She just needs someone to adopt her that understands this breed, and a family that understands her terrier personality. Dulce needs to be an indoor dog, but needs a securely fenced yard to play in. A home visit and good vet reference are mandatory to adopt her. Dulce requires a home with no kids under 12 years of age. Her adopter must be able to drive to the Goliad, Texas area to get her. **Courtesy Post** Finn is a darling 5 year old Jack Russell Terrier. Before children I used to be a volunteer foster home for JRTs. I have had at least one for almost 25 years. I have a neutered male that has some anxiety issues. Finn can get along with other dogs - he lives with two others, but he is very territorial. He will guard food and toys. He would be best with an experienced owner. Maybe not with other dogs unless you believe it is a good fit. He does play with my other dog, tug a war or just rough housing. He does give up on the tug a war with the other dog so there is potential. Sometimes he gets too territorial so I break them up and redirect his attention. He needs lots of work in that area and may be happier as an only dog. He is so cool! He has an amazing personality and wants to play all the time. He loves to snuggle and get under the covers. We have teenagers which he loves, but he does not like small children. So...no kids under 14 years of age! I really want someone who has had previous experience with JRTs and have enough time to dedicate exercise time to him. He loves walks. I do not let him interact with other dogs on a leash just because I do not know what will happen. I’m sure with some training it would be something he could handle. Finn is also crate trained. He will whine for a few minutes then he is okay. He goes to his crate on command. He also does well being left out of his crate. Finn needs a securely fenced back yard to play in. He cannot be adopted unless I can do a home visit and you have a good vet reference. His adopter must be willing to drive to the Kansas City, Missouri area to get him. His adoption fee is $200. Please fill out the online adoption application at www.russellrescue.com if you are interested in this handsome boy! Contact: jolleyjames@sbcglobal.net show less
