She also has several other medical conditions that need routine monitoring and daily medication. So far he can high five with both paws! That boy will do anything for some Temptations. Needless to say, the way to Arnold’s heart is through his stomach.    What's better than coffee in the morning? Cracking up when you see my paws going after those water droplets running down the side of the shower curtain, that's what! Hi there, I'm Birdie! Not only am I the softest cat my foster parents have ever had the pleasure of petting, but I am also a ton of fun. I am quite low-maintenance-- despite the basket of cat toys I could play with, my favorite things to bat around and pounce at are q-tips and shoelaces. Toss a q-tip in the bathtub, and I am a happy camper. Speaking of which, the bathroom is my favorite room in the house-- I'm not sure if it's because that's the room I first stayed in in my temporary home or if it's just because I'm a bit of a weirdo. Either way, I will ask you if I can take a nap in your tub. I don't even care it it's dry! I will even stick my head right around the shower curtain while the water is running just to say hello to you in the morning. What's better than coffee in the morning? I am very patient with young children and am getting along quite well with the other foster cat staying here. Fortunately, his foster mom found him and brought him into the safety of a warm house. He is now a happy & healthy little fur ball ready for his happy ending in a furever home. Cheese Doodle has grown to be quite the people lover. His loud purr is infectious.  Dooley is loads of fun, and loves others dogs! This playful pup is extremely smart, and knows all his basics, like 'sit', 'lie down',  and 'leave it', as well as some special tricks, like 'go around' (where he does a circle around you), 'spin', 'give paw', and he can even press a large button on command! He loves to wrestle and play with other dogs, but is very respectful if they do not want to play with him. He needs a large dog friend in his new home that will want to play with him most of the time. He is good with his crate, perfectly house-trained, walks excellent on a gentle leader harness, and loves food puzzles! Dooley is still a puppy, and needs an adopter who can work with him to train out his attention-seeking habits, but having a playful dog friend will significantly help! Dooley is not just brains, not just brawn, but also heart...he is so snuggly, and loves people more than anything! He particularly likes snuggling under the covers in bed with you, and will shower you with affectionate every day and night. Naive Fry and confident Leela were found alone on the streets before they fortuitously met in the same foster home, and their chemistry was instant. Their relationship is equal parts odd and endearing, mixing in sessions of loud and endless play with quiet cuddles and grooming. Fry was definitely a little rough around the edges when he first landed, but Leela has really taught him how to love and not act the fool (as much as one can expect from a kitten anyway). You don't need to be your own grandfather to know that these two will make any home or interplanetary delivery business better, and they would do great fitting in with whatever rogues gallery of cats and kids that already live there as well. So before you crack open another can of Slurm, why not make these two your golden ticket instead?  *Leela is also FIV+, which doesn't affect her chances to live a full and happy life, it just means that she has a harder time fighting off illnesses if she comes into contact with them, so she would do best in a quiet and calm home. During time outside of her cage, she loves to mosey around and check everything out. She loves chasing balls, toy mice, feathers, and anything that catches her eye. Kit-Kat loves to cuddle, get head scratches, and even curl up under the blankets in bed with you! She does get moody, so if her tail starts twitching, watch out: her tough side may be coming out.  Lily's soulful expression will win over just about anyone! This sweet and energetic girl loves to solve the mysteries of the world by sniffing one block at a time, but she can only go so far without a family to share her stories with! She could use some help getting more socialized with other dogs and walking better on her leash, but she's just too excited to get out and explore to pay attention to the path she's walking! If you're ready and looking for a strong-willed pupper to brighten your home, we have the girl for you right here!   Some notes from her current foster:  Lily is a happy and enthusiastic girl who is *really* excited to meet everyone.  She has shown to be very smart with obedience and behavior training. She really enjoys spending time with her people and practicing training games, receiving belly rubs, chewing bones and earning treats! When play time is done she also loves to curl up on the couch next to me and promptly start snoring. She is house trained and crate trained. She would do best in a home with no cats, small dogs or children.   She would fit in great in a house that would enjoy further progressing her obedience training beyond the basics. She is so smart and loves the mental stimulation from training games, food-related hide and seek and food puzzles. I could totally see her really enjoy taking part in agility or trick  training. She loves playing with toys and chewing bones. She generally has good house manners *except* we are still working on keeping noses off of the counter. She is becoming a good leash walker and really starting to show off her loose leash walking skills. She is still working on not reacting to other reactive dogs that pass her on her walks though.  Marth is a snuggle machine with a knack for somersaults. If you’re a sucker for squishable faces, then Marth is the guy for you. This handsome man lives for head scratches in exchange for (happily) providing his constant companionship. Adjusting to a new environment is no problem for Marth, as he will quickly seek out those willing to provide him with affection. A cast on his hind leg has meant a new way of navigation that includes the occasional side roll or handstand, but his recent clumsiness is no downer on his curious and loving nature. When he’s not practicing gymnastics, his preferred hobby is cuddling and melting you with his eyes. Marth’s current limited mobility means he isn’t bouncing all over the place, but he’s at his happiest when he’s closest to you. For the time that Marth has a cast on his hind leg, his healing will need to continue to be monitored at the PAWS clinic and he will need a space to heal to prevent further injury.  Meet Thumper (or Milkshake, as we've been calling him), a sweet and spunky boy ready to wiggle right into your heart! This cookies-and-cream boy came to PAWS after an unfortunate encounter with a car that left him with a fractured pelvis, but don't think for a moment that that's dampened his spirits. Milkshake has made a great recovery, to the point where it's been hard to keep him contained (much to his foster family's chagrin)! Play pen? No thanks. Baby gate? Not a problem. This tricky guy can saunter and sweet-talk his way around any obstacle, it seems. You wouldn't know he had any injury at all if not for his runway-ready crossover walk. This guy is a total sweetheart, and he's made friends with everyone he's met (including other cats). He loves head scritches, getting brushed, or just taking a nap curled up next to you. His other passion: food! Never met a cat so excited about all types of food as much as this guy. He can be sneaky, so keep your eyes on that hoagie! Because of his injury, Milkshake has 2 meds that he will have to take indefinitely. He's restricted to wet food because of some missing teeth (which sometimes gives him a silly lil smile), but the nice part is that he can take his meds in his food, so mealtime is a breeze! This easy-going guy is tough to faze. Milkshake is a wonderful guy with a great personality, lovely little trill, and a laid-back attitude that would make him a perfect addition to any family. She seems to have chronic congestion, but it is not as apparent when she is in a low-stress environment. Mini is an incredibly loving girl and a great cuddle buddy. She may take a little time to warm up to someone new, but once she warms up it's like you're old friends. She absolutely loves having her long fur brushed, especially on her head and cheeks. She can be playful when she wants to be, but likes being petted more. She's tranquil and relaxed, and even though she's not needy, she's always game for loving and caring company.   I'm a relaxed, chirpy little cat looking for a nice human to headbutt.  This is a friendly sweet relaxed pretty cat! She enjoys rubbing and nudging against the legs of any person who is willing to come say hi to her and chatting about her day. Mouse chirps and meows when you come home or wake up in the morning and loves having her chin, head, and back scratched. Mouse is a very laid-back cat. She spends most of the day lounging on the staircase or under a chair, watching people and her kittens. The kittens are almost old enough to go their own way now, so it's time for Mouse to find her own forever home. Mouse's ideal home would have places where she can lounge and watch the house activities, some lovely fun things to scratch (she doesn't go for many toys), and people to chitchat with and headbutt affectionately. When she is being petted and scratched she becomes a little wriggy thing and it's so cute.  This little panther will jump right into your heart. Mr. B has come a long way from the shy kitten that came to us. He is bright and very clever. He loves playing with every kind of toy, running through his tunnel and snoozing in a basket of stuffed toys. He is litter trained and uses his scratching post. Mr B is food motivated and enjoys hunting out his treats when we hide them in toys and around his area. He is very curious and is always ready to explore a new room or box. Mr B Has been in foster with his brother Mr E, the two are very silly together and play and explore the day away. They would do great staying together but Mr B would also do fine with a new older sibling to help him continue to build his confidence and show him the ropes. He has adjusted well to a very busy household with children and dogs. Mr B is always game for a light head scratch when someone is passing by. The dog often gets the full attention of rubbing and play, as that wagging tail is an awesome toy and the dog doesn’t seem to mind the sneak attack!  Mushy really lives up to his name! This charismatic and affectionate 8 year old is a big softie who makes friends with everyone he meets. A staff and volunteer favorite during his stay at the shelter, Mushy is now showing us what a wonderful companion he is in foster care. This gentle friend is happiest when he's near you and will find a comfy spot to settle down wherever you happen to be. He is meticulous in his grooming and loves getting brushed - he even loves to groom people! Mushy is a big fan of Temptations treats and will even do some tricks for that reward. In his current foster home he has lived with a dog and several cats. He does well with dogs that are respectful of his space. As for cat companions, he would prefer to be the cat in charge but given the right match he would do well with cat friends. Mushy has diabetes, which is easily managed with prescription food and twice daily insulin injections (he's very cooperative with his meds)!  Meet Zapp Brannigan, a handsome little orange guy who likes lap time almost as much as he likes nap time. He likes other cats that can match his energy, and loves any and all toys—especially wand ones and laser pointers that can get him jumping and running! Zapp was found as a stray this past Spring and was sick for quite a while, until PAWS vets determined that allergies were prompting his perpetual illness. Zapp is much more stable now on a hypoallergenic diet, and his adopters will need to keep him on that strict diet to avoid relapse into illness again. Zapp's hobbies include doing pigeon impressions, soliciting head pats, and playing tag with the other resident and foster kitties in the home. He's very food motivated (so guard your human snacks!), and toy motivated, so if you need him to do something for you just butter him up with those sweet, sweet bribes.
