About Sirius

Sweet Sirius! He's bashful, snuggley and playful. This handsome boy with beautiful markings has been fantastic with other cats and is at his best in their presence. We find him to be very affectionate and gracious with us. Because he's undersocialized to the bigger world, his next person will be his Life Coach and the cat in their house will be his mentor. It doesn't take much at all to get him prancing and spinning happy circles with a wand toy. Sirius will thrive with another cat, so adopters must already have a cat or be willing to adopt Sirius and another cat.  Prior to adoption, all kittens are spayed/neutered, tested for FIV/FELV, vaccinated and microchipped. This cat is at The Dancing Cat, our adult cat adoption lounge located at 702 E. Julian St in San Jose.  The Dancing Cat is open to the public from noon to 6pm Thursday and Friday, with no appointment needed to meet the cats during this time.  We are also open from noon to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday; appointments required if you want to visit on the weekends. Please contact us to schedule an appointment during the days we're not regularly open.  More information about this cat and all of our adoptable cats can be found at www.thedancingcat.org/cats.

Mr Stumpy has been coming around for ear rubs and food for about two years.  His ear is tipped, but he acts as though he was a homed pet at some point. He has a very gentle soul with people - wants to snuggle & get loving. His caregiver has been able to pick him up. He’s more than happy to hop into a lap & become a marshmallow.  His survival instinct has made him a bit feisty towards other cats (which is why he stays outside, his caregiver has 4 other cats). This also makes him a good mouser - he has brought gifts   . Even with a recent ear abscess, never once did he try to bite or scratch despite having a painful condition. He’s on the mend after the vet cleaned him up.  He is extremely docile when scruffed - he’ll let his caregiver tend to his wound or carry him to another part of the yard very easily. He's called Stumpy because of his short tail. We have no idea if he was born that way, or if he had an accident. His build is solid and he has a healthy appetite. He looks quite a bit like a Manx. Everyone at the vet hospital commented on what a sweet and beautiful cat he is. This cat is being cared for by a concerned citizen who would like to find him a safe home. He deserves to be able to sleep on a warm bed and cuddle with his people at night.   Contact us for details and we'll put you in touch with his caregiver. show less
