Ah, APRIL, appropriately named for a time commonly seen as rebirth, regrowth and renewal. That is exactly what this girl needed when she wound up at Dallas Animal Services with her litter of obnoxiously cute puppies. APRIL has had an obvious "ruff go in life. Whether she was an outdoor dog or just never really received the comforts of knowing a loving home prior to her rescue, she will certainly never know that life again thanks to her rescuers! After performing her motherly duties like the pro she is, APRIL is slowly, but surely, acclimating to domesticated life as a new empty nester with the assistance of her loving foster home and foster fur-sibling. She's a lady of little need. She just needs a cozy place to curl up and observe the room. A doggie companion to help her learn to sniff the May flowers and enjoy that dog life is just what the doctor ordered for this sweet mama. All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. The standard minimum donation for dogs over six months to seven years is $200, puppies under six months is $250, dogs eight years and over are $100 unless specified otherwise. Hi! I'm Barron and just as sweet, gentle and loving as I can be. I'm an 11 year old cattle/heeler mix with the mildest personality. I love lounging around and cuddling, or just being around my foster family. I'm crate and house trained and get along great with other dogs, kids, or any human really. Make me yours and I'll promise to be a loving addition to your home. This pet is available for pre-adoption and may not be officially ready for adoption, as it is still undergoing medical treatment. Meet Bates the Basset Hound! Have you ever seen a funnier looking pup? This happy goof is around 8 years old and is loving life in his foster home as he waits for his forever family to find him. Bates is a good boy - he gets along with everyone! Dogs, kids, doesn't matter. He immediately becomes best buddies with anyone he meets. He's also a talkative dog. He will always let you know how much he loves his pets, belly rubs, and ear scratches by grunting. Bates also likes to patrol the house to see what everyone is up to...especially if people are in the kitchen! As for toys, he likes to roll around with them on the floor but as you might have gathered because he's a basset hound, he doesn't need to play fetch to get out any energy. An ideal home for Bates is one with a family that will work with him on house training. He doesn't know that it's bad to mark in the house! So a patient, present family is key. Being that he's so social, Bates would love companions at home, along with his people being home a lot. He also would love to accompany his people to coffee shops and on strolls around town. His long body and big, goofy ears make him quite the showstopper, so he's bound to make lots of friends while out and about! This silly pup deserves the perfect forever home. Could it be with you? Get ready to laugh and be entertained by Batty, the chihuahua!! As you can guess-his name reflects his big silly chihuahua ears, resembling bat wings! Batty loves to stay busy, running, and playing, chasing after toys, or the other dogs at his foster home. He will even play tug of war with them, or paw at their leg for attention! It's fun to also watch him fight the urge to fall asleep after a good play session-he never wants to miss a thing! When around his people-Batty becomes snuggler extraordinaire! He likes being under the covers, in bed next to you, or on the couch, touching your leg. Believe it or not-Batty was found running across 6 lanes of Northwest Highway!! Luckily he was scooped up safely and is now enjoying the comforts of a wonderful foster home! Hi y'all! Allow me to introduce myself...my name is DELTA! You're probably checking me out because I'm so lovely with my shiny brindle coat and sweet brown eyes. But I'm so much more than a pretty face! Let me tell you just how special I am and why you need to take me home and make me yours forever. First off, I am young, but I have an old soul. This just means I've been around the block and I don't let much get to me...I'm very chill. I love to snuggle up with you and watch Netflix on the couch. I am partial to historical romance, but whatever you prefer works for me! Being with my people, including kids, is my favorite! I love being close to you and making sure you are safe and protected from all the big bad scary stuff! I am very obedient and love to please my humans. I want to be friends with all the dogs, but my foster humans say it's best that I take my time getting to know them. I have met a few cats and like to chase them a little bit, but I'm learning to "look, not touch! I did want to point out, because I keep hearing how cute it is, my fantastic underbite. It just makes me even more adorable and special, yes? I have had a ruff life so far, but since DPA swooped in to save me, things are looking up. I'd love to live the rest of my years with YOU! You and I were meant to be best friends...I just know it. Please apply to adopt me and I'll put in a good word for you! Love, DELTA show less

Meet affectionate Isaac. We thought she was a boy until we had her "neutered and found out she was a girl. Since she already knew her name, we kept it. She is an 8-month-old gray and white striped cat who was born in our garage. The mother is a stray who adopted us. Isaac has been handled by adults and grandchildren since she was 4 weeks old. She has been spayed and had all her shots. Isaac is quieter than her sister. Once she gets used to you she loves to be held and petted. She purrs constantly. She loves to play, run and be silly - especially with her sister. She enjoys having her back scratched first thing in the morning. She gets along with dogs (we have 3 goldens) and other cats as well as people. Isaac is litterbox trained. She has the run of the house during the day and stays in the bedroom/bathroom at night. This kitten needs a loving home. She would be a great companion for anyone! Issac is available for pre-adopt only at this time as he is undergoing medical treatment, but applications can still be completed. Meet the sweet lil' face of Koda! She is believed to be a Lab/English Setter mix of about 3yrs old. She is looking for a calm, loving Furever Home to call her own! Koda is so easy going, house broken, and best with more calm dogs, around her, observes her foster mom. She is frisky first thing in the morning, but the rest of the day is taken up with lounging about. One of her favorite things to do is lay her head on your lap, when you call her to you. Nothing makes her happier than to be touching some how, whether it's laying across you in bed, or pressing her body into yours, on the couch. Koda likes short walks, doesn't mind treats on occasion, and shows little interest in doggy toys at this point. She will be best suited for a quiet home with a low-key environment-includung children and/or another dog. It can take her a little while to settle in and feel comfortable in a new setting. Meet Laverne! Living it up at her foster home, Lavern spends her days hanging out with her DPA sister Shirley and their awesome foster mom. These two sisters are a hoot to hangout with as they play with their toys and snuggle on the couch. Lavern is the ultimate toy lover and carries her favorite toys from room to room while keeping a close watchful eye on Shirley. While not busy with her toys, Lavern stays by her foster moms side following in her shadow. She's house trained and working on more tricks to impress her future family. These sisters love people and greet everyone with excited tail wags. Laverne and Shirley are extremely bonded to each other and will need to be adopted as a pair. Their club is pretty exclusive and they prefer you leave any third wheels at grandmas. Smile big and say "Hi" to Lolli-Pop! Her name can't come out of your mouth without reminding you of childhood, and conjuring up a little joy! Lolli-pop is only around 2 years of age, with delightful features-(much like a real lollipop)- like her pretty honey toned eyes, and velvety creme-colored coat. She enjoys her car rides, likes short walks, is house broken, and crate trained. Lolli-Pop is very well behaved, affectionate, and good mannered. Her activity level is low-moderate, so a nice sized fenced yard could be ideal for when Lolli-pop would like outdoor time and exercise! Also-that way her sensitive paws don't have to be subjected to hot concrete walks, in summer time. A perfect gentle-giant, Lolli-Pop was an owner surrender, yet she comes with an abundance of positive traits, that would only grow, in a loving, caring furever home, with a devoted owner! Who wouldn't love to laugh with daily joy, and make Lolli-pop's second-chance dreams come true?! Are you looking for a fur baby to round out your active household? Sweet MALCOLM was made to be in the middle of the action! This bright, two-year-old lab mix might've had a rough start in life, but Malcolm hasn't let a little dysfunction get him down. Instead, this boy is all smiles--even in his crate! Malcolm knows basic commands like "sit" and "shake," and he's working really hard on his potty training! He lives for walks, and he's hoping to find a forever family who can help him get lots of exercise. Malcolm would do best as the middle sibling in a home with dogs his own size. While he's not a fan of cats, Malcolm IS a fan of toys, and he's a rockstar at playing alone or with others. If his foster humans don't have time to play fetch, Malcolm will throw his toys up in the air and catch them all by himself! When he's not playing or running around, Malcolm is completely content to curl up at your side and solicit some snuggles. He understands that a good nap gives him the strength he needs to conquer the next great adventure--and you'll definitely want Malcolm there for all of your adventures! Meet the ever-so-adorable Mina! This sweet, gorgeous girl sports the most beautiful tuxedo coat and is sure to charm anyone she meets. Found living in a feral cat colony by Dallas Animal Services, Mina was deemed too young and itty bitty to return to this environment, so she is now living it up with her current foster family! Mina is gradually getting more comfortable with humans and other animals, slowly coming out of her shy, timid shell. She is great with using a litter box, taking to it right away! Mina does fine with small dogs, though she prefers to hide from them rather than play. However, she loves the company of other cats, getting along swimmingly with her foster family's current feline. While a little timid at first, Mina can be quite the cuddle bug. Her foster family gushes about how cute she is when she is happily curled up purring on their chests, snoozing away comfortably. She is still getting used to the concept of toys and playing, but she does love a good toothbrush that she can play with and bite the bristles of. Mina would do best in a home with older children and adults who can be gentle and patient as she learns to conquer her shyness. She would love to have a home with other cats and could get used to mellow dogs if introduced slowly. With some patience and a lot of love, Mina could be the purrfect companion! Percy, a 6 and a half year old, 12 lb chihuahua mix, is proof that all lives are worth saving! He was very feral, hovered in the corner with his face buried behind another house mate at the shelter. You probably would not have known he was there if you did not look close enough. Percy had no clue what it was like to encounter normal social interactions with humans or be loved. Since coming into foster care Percy has gone from a scared baby in the corner to going on what was most likely his first walk ever! You can bet it was not as quick as putting a harness on and heading out the door. It was an intentional work in progress meant to help build his confidence. This gave him the confidence he needed join his foster siblings and start learning how to just be a dog. He now goes outside with confidence, is potty trained, uses the doggy door, enjoys sunbathing on the patio, meal time with the pack, playing with the other pups in the house, and so much more! Percy has had many "firsts over the past couple of months. Each one are the result of his hard work. They show how far he has come and how far he can go with a family that will continue working with him. Percy is still learning how to be a dog. He is still shy to sudden movements and is still working on trust. He will come to you and sniff in a calm setting but is not open to being handled yet. Percy is good with dogs; untested with cats but would most likely be fine; older kids would be ok but smaller kids would probably make him too nervous. If you have time and patience, Percy's continuing transformation could be your greatest reward! Every superhero needs a sidekick-and a strong desire to save the world. You'll find the perfect boy for your Batman-and the perfect subject for saving-in ROBIN! This four-year-old lab mix is low on energy and big on love. He's constantly looking for snuggles, and he loves to be near his people! He doesn't require more than one or two small walks each day, and he's not destructive, so he's well qualified to hang around your super-secret lair while you're away! Robin is charming and social, with a big, ready smile and gentle paws. He's eager to please and learns tricks easily as long as you're giving treats as rewards! Unfortunately, Robin was injured during his last sidekick position and has lost feeling in part of his pelvic area. As a result, he needs an extra-special superhero to help him get the love, care, and attention he deserves. He has to wear doggy diapers, and he walks with a bit of a limp, but he doesn't let it slow him down! If you're looking for a friend to save and a lifelong sidekick to help you make the world a better place, apply to adopt ROBIN today. This pet is available for pre-adoption and may not be officially ready for adoption, as it is still undergoing medical treatment. Top o' the mornin' to ya, this little lass with a whole lot of sass is appropriately named after Ireland's Sinead Kane. The human version is a visually impaired double PhD Doctorate, double Guinness World Record holder (she completed 7 marathons on 7 continents in 7 days in January of 2017), and a qualified lawyer. Similarly, DPA's Sinead is also vision impaired and does some running of her own. She enjoys running in circles until she gets dizzy! It's almost as cute as she is! Affectionately known as Nay Nay, this little cutie does not know she's little. In fact, she has the fierceness and appetite of a lion. If she bumps into something outside she just bounces off and keeps on going like it was nothing. Being blind does NOT stop her! What's stopping you? Sinead is ready to run circles around your heart in record time! All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. Thumper was picked up as single mother and her tiny baby at Dallas Animal Services. Thumper is reserved and clearly was not handled with love previously. She has come around in her foster home and is warming up more and more to her foster mom and 4 year old. She was also underweight before and much prefers her new life of fresh vegetables, fruits, timothy hay, and rabbit food on a daily basis. She has stopped nipping her foster mom and even learned to permit some snuggles and kisses! She is a beautiful girl who took great care of her baby and deserves to live out her life loved and unafraid. Although she is older and bit more mature, like all bunnies, Thumper cannot be left to roam unattended as she enjoys chewing leather, woodwork, plastic, and electrical cords. Thumper currently reside with two small dogs (18 lbs each) and a three-legged cat. Occasionally they go out in soft grass in an x-pen. All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets have been appropriately vetted depending on their species upon adoption. The standard donation range for barnyard animals is $50 - $600, but completely dependent on species.
