About Carmen

Carmen is a very sweet and friendly, three-year-old, 55-pound female terrier-mix with a cropped tail looking for a loving guardian. Carmen is full of nub wiggles and kisses for everyone she meets. Carmen is great with all other dogs, although her best friend is a terrier named Kermit. She would be best in home without cats. She adores people, knows the command sit and takes treats very gently from your fingers. Carmen is crate-trained and appears to be housebroken. She was rescued by Lucky Dog Rescue from a Southern Illinois shelter and brought to Chicago to find a loving. To meet and possibly adopt Carmen, please contact Melia at melia88@comcast.net for an adoption application. Her adoption fee of $200 benefits the rescued dogs of Lucky Dog Rescue. She is healthy, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and micro-chipped. She is being fostered in Chicago.

Louie is a fun, friendly, energetic, playful and loving, four-year-old, 52-pound, male white bully breed-mix looking for a loving guardian. Louie needs a strong leader who will continue his training and give him daily exercise. Louie loves chew toys, bones and playing tug of war and fetch with his humans. He also enjoys belly rubs, walks and playing with tolerant larger dogs; he’s a hard player. In the home, he’s a Velcro dog. He’s happy to be your shadow and join you on the coach for a cuddle session. He’s great in the car and good on leash … unless he sees a bunny, squirrel or cat. Louie is housebroken when kept on schedule. He needs to go out at least four times a day. He has been professionally-trained and knows the commands sit, high-five and shake. He just loves to work and learn new things. He’s not a high-maintenance dog. Louie is happy to hang out at your feet or to cuddle in his dog bed and chew a bone while you work. He is best in a home with adults and teenagers without cats or small dogs. He is not a “dog park” dog. He would love a home as the one and only pet to thoroughly bond with his human. He enjoys food puzzles and other methods of mental stimulation including training classes. A fenced-in-yard is on his wish list, but he’d be happy with multiple walks every day. Louie is an escape artist, so without supervision, he can easily find a way to get out of enclosed areas; he needs supervision while outside. Louie would love to be adopted by a someone who works from home or is a homebody … He just loves to hang out with his human. Louie is healthy, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, de-wormed, heartworm-tested and on monthly heartworm preventative. For his health, he eats The Honest Kitchen dehydrated base food with added meat. His adoption fee of $150 benefits the rescued dogs of Villa Bark Rescue. If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting Louie, please contact Ashley at 630-379-3041 or Ashchaffin@yahoo.com He is being fostered in Chicago, Illinois. show less

Lucky is a smart, sweet, gentle and loving 10-year-old, 28-pound Keeshond//Pomeranian-mix looking for a loving guardian. Lucky absolutely loves his walks and car rides … he just lights up when you pull out his leash. He’s even good on road trips. In the home, he likes to be with you and stay by your side. He never goes on furniture or in your bed. Instead, he’ll sleep in his own dog bed right on the floor. He will however help himself to any edible treats he smells within his reach. Lucky came to Friends of Petraits Rescue in February when his human passed away of cancer. Now it’s time for him to find a permanent loving guardian for his golden years. He is protective of his food and bowl with other dogs and cats, so he is best as the only pet in the home and without children. Lucky has very thick hair that needs to be professionally groomed at least a couple times a year. He is perfectly housebroken, no crate needed, and non-destructive in the home. He’s typically quiet, but he will bark for food, or attention when someone new visits the home. Lucky is a happy and healthy senior. He is neutered, micro-chipped, up-to-date on rabies, distemper, leptospirosis, bordetella and the H3N2 canine flu vaccines. He is fecal and heartworm–tested, dewormed and on monthly heartworm protection. Lucky has a slight heart murmur and had x-rays done to make sure his heart was not enlarged. He also had full bloodwork, urinalysis and even had a dental. Lucky is currently being fostered in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood. His adoption fee of $250 benefits the Friends of Petraits Rescue. Please contact friendsofpetraits@gmail.com for an adoption application. show less

Tibbar is a beautiful and very fluffy, 18-month-old, 2.4-pound, female grey lionhead rabbit looking for a loving guardian. Tibbar was relinquished to Friends of Petraits Rescue because she was purchased to be a child’s pet but was not the best companion for him. She eats a healthy diet of timothy and orchard hays, fresh greens and carrots, and tiny bites of apple as her treats. She doesn’t need pellets. While she is not big on being picked up, she really does love attention from her humans, by sitting beside them on the couch. She is just about perfect with her litter box and doesn’t seem to mind the other animals in my house. I think she enjoys them. Tibbar is extremely healthy, vet-checked, spayed, microchipped and ready for a loving family. While her fur is very beautiful, she may require trimming the hair around her eyes so she can see. The vet did that for her while she was under for her spay surgery. Her adoption fee of $175 benefits Friends of Petraits Rescue and includes all her belongings ... carrying case, hay, litter, litter box, pen and favorite toys! Please contact friendsofpetraits@gmail.com for an application if you're interested in adopting Tibbar. She’s best with an experienced rabbit family. Please read up on rabbits and their care, at: http://www.rabbit.org/ She is being fostered in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood. v show less
