Mason is one of those Velcro kitties, you know, the kind that stick to your side, no matter what you’re doing. He is a lovey-dovey and lanky dude with all of the benefits of a tabby personality. He will snuggle on your shoulder, climb on your chest, or lay on your lap.  He’s not picky, he just wants to hang out with you. He gets along with other cats though does seem to prefer humans with hands to pet him, unless he’s playing. He has a lot of energy and curiosity and is quite playful. He is a great mentor to Vespurr who can be a bit shy and he has really helped bring her out of her shell. Mason and Vespurr are a bonded pair and must be adopted together.  Prior to adoption, all kittens are spayed/neutered, tested for FIV/FELV, vaccinated and microchipped. This cat is at The Dancing Cat, our adult cat adoption lounge located at 702 E. Julian St in San Jose.  The Dancing Cat is open to the public from noon to 6pm Thursday and Friday, with no appointment needed to meet the cats during this time.  We are also open from noon to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday; appointments required if you want to visit on the weekends. Please contact us to schedule an appointment during the days we're not regularly open.  More information about this cat and all of our adoptable cats can be found at www.thedancingcat.org/cats.   show less

Milky had been beloved by caring people in her neighborhood before being hit by a car and  rushed to the emergency vet by a good Samaritan. During the emergency exam the vet determined she had a severely injured jaw and irreparable damage to one eye. Because Milky was found to be FIV+ and did not have an indoor home, the vet's advice was to put her down. Alarmed, her neighborhood friend contacted us. Our position on Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (“FIV”) is that while it may lead to a weakening of the cat’s immune system, if well cared for, FIV+ cats can lead long, happy lives and make wonderful family members. We believe Milky deserves to find a wonderful forever home out of harm's way and safely indoors. Milky is a very gentle soul and prefers to be in a quiet environment. She loves to snuggle up in laps and sleep with people. If you have a low energy home on a quiet street and are ready to step forward into the greatest chapter of your life hand in paw with a truly great cat, Milky is waiting.  Milky is recovering well in a foster home for the next few weeks. To meet her please fill out the adoption application so that we'll have your contact information, and we will get back to you as soon as possible: https://thedancingcat.org/adopt Prior to adoption, all cats/kittens are spayed/neutered, tested for FIV/FELV, vaccinated, dewormed, deflead, and microchipped. Mr Stumpy has been coming around for ear rubs and food for about two years.  His ear is tipped, but he acts as though he was a homed pet at some point. He has a very gentle soul with people - wants to snuggle & get loving. His caregiver has been able to pick him up. He’s more than happy to hop into a lap & become a marshmallow.  His survival instinct has made him a bit feisty towards other cats (which is why he stays outside, his caregiver has 4 other cats). This also makes him a good mouser - he has brought gifts   . Even with a recent ear abscess, never once did he try to bite or scratch despite having a painful condition. He’s on the mend after the vet cleaned him up.  He is extremely docile when scruffed - he’ll let his caregiver tend to his wound or carry him to another part of the yard very easily. He's called Stumpy because of his short tail. We have no idea if he was born that way, or if he had an accident. His build is solid and he has a healthy appetite. He looks quite a bit like a Manx. Everyone at the vet hospital commented on what a sweet and beautiful cat he is. This cat is being cared for by a concerned citizen who would like to find him a safe home. He deserves to be able to sleep on a warm bed and cuddle with his people at night.   Contact us for details and we'll put you in touch with his caregiver. show less

Little Miss Vespurr is the most outgoing shy teenager you’ll ever meet. She will take her time to warm up to you as she’s a bit nervous around new people, places and cats, but really wants to be a part of the party and hates to be left out. She is people oriented, wants attention and just needs the right home to help her be comfortable getting what she wants. She can play with the best of them and is happiest snuggling on people or other cats. If you’ve got a bit of patience she will be delighted to reward you with hugs and kisses. Vespurr is particularly found of a very sweet and confident cat named Mason. Mason and Vespurr are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. Prior to adoption, all kittens are spayed/neutered, tested for FIV/FELV, vaccinated and microchipped. This cat is at The Dancing Cat, our adult cat adoption lounge located at 702 E.
