Figgie is a young, energetic girl who would benefit from basic manners training. She's very playful and treat motivated. Figgie can get a bit overexcited and grabby when you're down at her level so she would benefit from a home without small kids at this time. We'd love to see her in a home that can match her energy level and use her food motivation to work with her on learning all the things she'll need to become a great adult dog. JUNE - Figgie is as sweet as the fruit and has the best ears we have seen in a while. She is a beautiful girl with sparkling white teeth and kind eyes. Figgie was a tiny bit shy at first, but it didn't take too long before she jumped up ever so lightly to give a gentle hug and kisses. Figgie is happy go lucky and has quickly come out of her shell. She is delightful to be around, and is so well-mannered, even if a bit jumpy at times. Figgie can be a bit of a puller on leash and vocal around other dogs, but has done well meeting a few on leash so far. We think she just has a lot to say. Hopefully if someone is looking for her, they can find her here. If not, we are certain she would make a really loving companion for whoever is lucky enough to foster or adopt her. He's vocal in his kennel because he needs to go outside to go potty. Chill and good on leash. Such a nice guy! Good mix of playful and affectionate. Easy in/out. He has good manners, excellent command knowledge, easy to handle, loves the pool— he’s a total ham. We love this guy. JUNE - Howdy wasn't super excited to be at the shelter the first few days he was with us. The kennel is a very scary place for him, but his vocalization seems to be all show. It is just how he says hello, please take our meeting slow. We listened to his request and Howdy allowed easy leashing and was pretty mellow once outside. He was all about taking in every smell possible and replacing it with his scent. Howdy was perfectly content keeping the walk going forever and can seem a little standoffish at first. Everyday he gets a little quicker to engage, especially with volunteers he's met before. Howdy is a very very smart dog. He knows sit, listens to other commands, but can be stubborn when he is asked to show them off. Maybe we didn't have the right motivators because it wasn't the treats laying around. Howdy walks well on the leash and allowed handling all over. He isn't super cuddly (yet), but his smile is constantly growing as he relaxes around his new friends. Howdy is ready to say yee-ha to a foster home. A home is what it appears he is used to. Romeo A218372 Romeo is a 5 year old neutered male who came into the shelter on 7/6 as an owner surrender. He’s here, right here! And he is the lover boy his name suggests. Romeo was found as a stray last and kept for awhile by the person that surrendered him. Who knows how long he was on his own or what type of training the previous home did with him but we haven’t seen any suggestions that he wouldn’t be potty trained outside of the shelter. He’s smart and showed off a sit on command and came when he was called, all while making great eye contact. He also walks at a perfect stroll on leash with zero pulling. Surely he’d be able to learn more commands if someone would teach him. Romeo takes treats gently and allowed handling all over. He’s an A+ cuddle type guy. His signature move is to put his head down with eyes closed to lean in. It is sooooooo sweet. We could go on forever with all the positives we think Romeo has. Rescues and fosters don’t miss out of this boy. Owner Surrender Notes: Surrendered for not being house trained. Lived with senior dog and children 6 years and up.
