Ansel is a beautiful cat who loves to play, cuddle, and go to sleep with you when you go to bed! Ansel is a beautiful cat, who would like to spread his love and affection with his adoptive family. He is just over a year old, and is very, very active. He is a quiet cat for the most part, except when it's time for a meal! He is also a pretty relaxed cat, but he will definitely ZOOM around the house at different points during the day and night. He loves to sit by the windowsill and watch the sunset. Ansel might be part dog!! He loves to chase his tail! Finally, he is a very adventurous and curious cat, and will go on continuous explorations throughout the house.  Age: 1 year, 6 months How I came to PAWS: Found stray Animal ID#: A47990 I am not at the shelter.  A Cuddly Girl Who Just Wants a Comfy Place to Snuggle! Maman Belle currently splits her time doting on her 4 bébés and snuggling with her foster mom. Now, it's time for her to just focus on finding and loving her new human! Belle loves nothing more than to be held. She will beg for you to pick her up by standing on her hind legs and 'clapping' her paws together! If you don't do it quickly enough, she will jump on your lap or the closest table to get closer to you. She likes to follow you from room to room and watch you with her inquisitive eyes. These bright eyes give her a started look, but her foster mom says it's just her observant and curious nature. She's always happy to be scooped up and pet. She might even headbutt you to show her appreciation! She has a very healthy appetite and will let you know if her food bowl is empty. Even if it is full, it's helpful to watch your dinner around her, as she likes to share! Maman Belle only has a portion of her tail due to a past accident. Because of this, she will need a little extra patience and care when it comes to her litter box behaviors. Sometimes, she needs to be cleaned up a bit after using the bathroom. Her foster mom or adoption staff can chat with you more about what's going on! If you're looking for a cuddly girl with a calm demeanor, Bell might just be the one for you!  Why hello, my name is Bernard and I notice you have a free hand there – would you mind scratching under my chin? If not, I’ll just nudge you every now and again just to remind you that you have a free hand and could be scratching my chin. I mean, it’s only polite to let you know. Not to brag, but I’ve been told I’m the perfect work from home companion. I like to rub up against laptops for scratches, eat snacks with my fellow co-workers, and if I get too busy, I just take a nap on the couch, preferably in the sunbeam. On my weekends off, I’ve been vacationing down the Jersey Shore and let me tell you – I am a gem in the car (though I've been told I'm a backseat driver). I like to hang out with my fellow retirees and enjoy a tuna fish happy hour. I'm also an avid bird watcher extraordinaire. Though I have enjoyed my current co-worker situation, I am looking for a more permanent 9-5 position, just like Dolly Parton. I would do best in an adult environment where snacks are plentiful, and I can work from a couch stress free. Won’t you be my perfect work companion?  Bernard has tested positive for feline leukemia virus (FeLV), which causes a weakened immune system.  FeLV cats have shorter lifespans than other kitties, but don't  require medication or daily treatment. With a caring home and attentive person who can catch any early signs of illness, FeLV cats will live perfectly normal, happy lives. Only cats can catch  FeLV , so they are able to live with other species (or other cats who are  FeLV  positive).  Staff will be happy to tell you more about FeLV if you have any questions at all! He wants people to think he’s a shy introvert, but he really loves to be by his owner’s side, and be pet all day long. Bowie loves to be under the sun and relax. Bowie has a habit of pointing with his front paw, like dogs, and it’s adorable. He would be perfect for a home of one person, where he would be the main attention.  Gorgeous sweet tabby looking for a loving home with lots of head scratches! Caldera wants nothing more in life than to sit right next to you and be pet. She is an incredibly affectionate cat that has loved all the head scratches she's getting in foster care, but can't wait to be your new best friend! Her favorite things to do are stretch out on the carpet and take a nap, or sit right next to you and get her ears scratched. Caldera is a quiet kitty who rarely meows, but purrs like a motorcycle when she's being pet. She is curious and loves to follow you around and watch what you're doing (probably in the hopes you'll stop what you're doing and pet her!) Caldera is a little shy at first but comes out of her shell almost immediately in a quiet and peaceful environment. She would likely be most comfortable in a home without dogs. Caldera has tested positive for FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus), which means her immune system is less developed, but doesn't require special treatment or affect her chances to live a full and happy life. Staff will be happy to tell you more about FIV if you have any questions at all, or you can learn more info here!: https://phillypaws.org/wp-content/uploads/PAWS_FIV_FAQ.pdf Age: 1 year How I came to PAWS: Found stray Animal ID#: A47726 I am not at the shelter.  Meet playful and loving Chili! Chili is a handsome ball of energy and curiosity! He loves to explore new findings and will climb the highest heights to do so. He has entertained himself with every toy that’s come his way, including: feathers, jingly balls, puzzles, string, toilet paper tubes, twisty ties..really anything you put in front of him. But his favorite thing to do is run after a laser pointer! So much so that his foster mom has already had to replace the batteries in hers. Chili also loves sitting on window sills, scratching his scratch post, and following you wherever you go. His need for activity would require a home with the room to offer him some space to explore and play. When his energy runs out, he’s content laying next to you and purring for pets until his nap kicks in. Chili does tend to get feisty at times, and his predatory and attack instincts surface. He also hasn’t fully adjusted to being around other pets. For these reasons, he would most likely be best in a home with adults and no small kids, and ideally as a single pet.  Shy but sweet adorable kitten you have to meet! Cinder is a 3 month old kitten who was rescued from a house fire, but since being in our home, has flourished. She loves being playful and hopping around and playing with her toys. She’s been quite the explorer, but loves to take a good nap on our bed. She’s a typical lap kitten and loves a snuggle.  If you're looking for a hilarious, kind of intense, but ultimately sweet house panther who will always keep you smiling, then read on to find out if Cinderella is the kitty match for you!  Cinderella has a small frame, but a very big personality. She always wants to know what you're doing, and loves being in the center of the action with her curious nature. She loves to climb, explore, and rifle through everything in her environment, and has even figured out how to open our office doors when she's bored (clever girl)! Cinderella is looking for a companion who really "gets" her.  She can be a bit particular about how she receives affection, but actually loves to be around people and will often ask for attention! She'll do best with someone who can read cat body language - she likes to take things slow and on her own terms, but is a really great companion if you like a little spice with your sugar!  This beauty's ideal home will be large with lots of perches to climb, nooks and crannies to explore, and toys to chase. She also gets along great with larger dogs and would enjoy a canine friend! She prefers to be your only feline, and will thrive in a household with adults/teens.  Name: Cinderella (formerly Angela) Age: 2-4 years  How I came to PAWS: Surrendered  Animal ID#: A43800 Location: I'm not at the shelter.  Dante takes hydration seriously by drinking from your sink faucets any chance he gets.  Dante is also a foodie as he likes to try to crawl into your fridge to inspect if your snacks are up to par; plus, he loves watching you cook dinner, it's his favorite tv channel.  When Dante isn't perusing your kitchen, he enjoys hunting for mice. Dante gets along with docile cats, but is definitely an alpha dude, and would probably prefer being the King of his domain.  He likes a nice big scratching box, but doesn't seem very interested in toys.   He has a very low croaking meow that sounds like a frog or duck and will let you know when it's meal time.  Dante has some GI issues, but we have them under control with a special diet and medication.   If you're interested in a nosey velcro tabby cat that will keep the mice at bay, Dante could be the guy for you!  Follow him @dalystreetfosters Age: 8 Years How I came to PAWS: owner surrender, unable to care Animal ID#: A16234625 I am not at the shelter.  The clean and quiet roommate every city dweller dreams about finding, elegant Efni is looking for a quiet perch to rest and watch the world pass by now that her childlike years are behind her. After being found stray just hanging out on her finder's porch for a few weeks, Efni would just need a patient and experienced cat owner to help her along the next leg of her journey. Not so much shy as she is just content doing her own thing, she doesn't ask for much except a great window view, some daily chin scratches, and the occasional handful of treats. Efni would do best in an adult-only home as your only pet, and is completely content without needing much space to roam around so she could be happy in anything from a closet sized studio apartment to countryside mansion. So if you're looking for a furry friend to chat with and spoil but also alright with them not being much a cuddly lap cat, reach out to learn more about her!  Elvis - the Super Senior is a very active, curious, and social cat that wants pets and your love. Elvis is a total ham with some very unique markings. He even wears pants around the house.  Despite his age, he is very active - he holds the current record in our house for stair climbing. He is exceptionally social and wants to always be part of the action - no running and hiding from this guy. He loves to wander around and investigate; we suspect he's a good hunter too. But more than exploring, he likes to hang with people. He is super affectionate and really enjoys (okay...sometimes he demands) pets, and a lap to sit on. His loud purrs and sweet nuzzles are the best! He will do best as an only pet, and in an adult house. He can get a bit frightened by loud or sudden movements so someone with a calm demeanor and cat experience would be ideal. He does a little bit of over-grooming, but he came to PAWS with mattes and bald spots (all of which have cleared up), but his coat could use some continual care. Luckily he enjoys being brushed so this isn't difficult at all. Finally, he has the sweetest meow you've ever heard (he should really be doing cat voice-overs). This big guy still has LOTS of love to give (and a few more pounds to pack on). Age: 13 years How I came to PAWS: A-43528 Animal ID#: found stray I am not at the shelter.
