About Coy- sweet & easy boy!

Courtesy listing! Please contact Carrie at nursecarrie@mac.com to inquire on Coy. If Coy were an actor he would be Dustin Hoffman. He possesses a quiet wisdom and a kind heart. We don’t know much about his past other than he was an owner surrender when they lost their home. He spent over 2 months in the Harbor shelter alone in a small crate. However, the day we took him home as a foster he was instantly loving, sweet and bonded to us quickly. He gets along great with all small and medium dogs, both male and female (we don’t have any large so I haven’t tried him with large dogs- but I am sure he would do great with a non-aggressive large dog). He loves all people.. men, women, and children. I do not have cats so I don’t know how he would be with cats. I imagine he would do fine and just ignore them. He is a gentle and quiet soul . We got another foster recently and he made room for him to share his bed in the living room. I have never heard him bark. I have only heard him whimper a few times when he is still hungry after dinner and wants more food (so of course he gets more J). He quickly learned the ropes of where to potty in the backyard. He is housetrained if he is let out every 4 or so hours. If he has a wee-wee pad and you are gone longer and he needs to go he will go on that. He is good on a walk and doesn’t pull. He is learning sit very nicely. We are still working on sitting for a treat. He is very food motivated and gets super excited with treats. Coy has partial vision loss due to cataracts but he doesn’t let that stop him from anything or enjoying his life. He gets around without any trouble. He is occasionally a little wonky with his “footing” as he navigates new terrain. The first couple days he just needed to learn where the steps were in our house and after that he was confident getting around. He has no health problems other than cataracts. He is neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped. If you would like to meet this sweet little man and possibly give him a forever home, please contact me at nursecarrie@mac.com
