Having a bad hair day? Well so is Cam! This sweet girl was found with another dog abandoned in a crate by a dumpster. When she came to the San Antonio Humane Society, she was severely matted and needed to be shaved down completely in order to be properly evaluated. We may not have a groomer on staff, but we do our best to make every pet feel comfortable. Cam is a sweet girl, and although her vision is limited due to cataracts in one eye, she doesn't have too much trouble finding dog treats. She's sweet, loves attention, and is ready to spend her golden years cuddling with her forever family. Cam has a Guardian Angel! This means her adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous donor. Cam is heartworm positive and currently undergoing treatment while at the San Antonio Humane Society. Adopters can take advantage of FREE heartworm treatment thanks to VCA Animal Hospitals, please ask staff for details! Please remember, heartworms are NOT contagious between dogs and can only be transmitted through an infected mosquito bite. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, first set of vaccinations, microchip, de-wormer, flea and heartworm prevention, complimentary wellness exam (within 5 days of adoption) and complimentary follow up care (within 14 days of adoption) at any VCA animal hospital , and 30 days 24PetWatch Pet Insurance. show less

Flora was transferred to the San Antonio Humane Society with 22 other dogs from the City of San Antonio Animal Care Services. They were a part of an emergency seizure from a home on the City's East Side where over 50 dogs and puppies were being kept in unlivable conditions. Although they are friendly, they are currently in need of socialization and lots of TLC. We believe they will do well in a loving and understanding home with lots of patience and friendly faces. We hope that you'll understand Flora may need some time to feel comfortable here and with any new visitors, but once she warms up to you, she really loves affection. Flora's heartworms are currently being treated here at the SAHS and after adoption, Flora's adopters can take advantage of free heartworm treatment at VCA Animal Hospitals. Heartworms are not contagious between dogs-in fact, transmission of heartworms requires a bite from an infected mosquito. Please give Flora a chance to prove that she's worth your time and love!Adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, first set of vaccinations, microchip, de-wormer, flea and heartworm prevention, complimentary wellness exam (within 5 days of adoption) and complimentary follow up care (within 14 days of adoption) at any VCA animal hospital , and 30 days 24PetWatch Pet Insurance. show less

Wiley was recently a TV star! This sweet 4-year-old Pitty made his debut on KENS5 and he was a hoot on air. Wiley absolutely loves rope toys and playing a good game of fetch. This smart pup knows how to SIT and go DOWN for a treat-he'll even catch them in the air! He's a boy of many surprises. We're afraid Wiley may be getting overlooked because he's "just another brown dog," but the truth is he's so much more! He'll be your everyday companion and he's looking for someone who will stick with him for life. He's a great jogging partner, and although we recommend a harness, he isn't a regular puller. Though he may suddenly change direction on you, it's easily corrected and overall he walks well on a leash. He's known to do well with other friendly dogs, but what he's really looking for is affection. He loves pets and cuddles. Please don't be discouraged by how he acts in his kennel (he can seem a bit over eager with all the barking and jumping), out in the yard it's like night and day! He's an active boy with a loving heart. Don't just take our word for it, drop in and spend the afternoon with Wiley!Wiley's adoption fee has been sponsored by Red McCombs Toyota as their Pet of the Month!Adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, first set of vaccinations, microchip, de-wormer, flea and heartworm prevention, complimentary wellness exam (within 5 days of adoption) and complimentary follow-up care (within 14 days of adoption) at any VCA animal hospital, and 30 days 24PetWatch Pet Insurance. show less
