About Remy

**Remy is being fostered in Houston and it’s possible to meet him following the completion of the adoption application. His adoption donation is $350 – He has been fully vetted, is healthy, and ready to start his new life. Because care is expensive, the adoption fee is non-negotiable. ** Our handsome Remy came to us after he was abandoned in a boarding facility during Hurricane Harvey. The people at the boarding facility did their best to take great care of him, but knew that he needed to find his own, forever family. Due to riding out the storm in boarding, Remy does have storm anxiety and likes to be with his people during storms. Remy is a flat-coat retriever mix who is about 4 years old. He is in the 50-pound range and a great size for any living situation. He is a medium activity dog, who likes a good walk but doesn’t require a ton of exercise. Remy is a very sweet dog but can be a bit possessive of his food and toys, so we think a home where he is the only dog may be ideal for him. He loves to run in the yard, sun bathe, and is a hoarder of toys! We are not super sure what happened to him during and after the storm, but we anticipate that having lost his family had a pretty big impact on his feelings of security. He is AMAZING with people and could be cat tested if an adoptive family has a feline companion. He is a very well-behaved dog, he is fully house and kennel trained and wants nothing more than to hang out and love his family. His best family will be one who can provide them with patience and positive reinforcement they transition from foster into his forever family. We expect our dogs to be adopted by families who plan to keep them as indoor pets and part of the family. We do not adopt to families who plan to keep dogs outside for an extended period of time, for example the entire workday. Remy is fully vetted (vaccinated, neutered, microchipped) and he is heartworm negative. If you are interested in adding Remy to your family, please visit our website to fill out an application. Please note we are all volunteers, so it may take us a few days to respond to inquiries. If you have questions about any of our dogs, please email us at adoptions@reggiesfriends.org
