About Snickerdoodle

Hi, I’m Snickerdoodle! My life prior to SNIPSA had been a little ruff. I was found dumped at a local grocery store roaming around the parking lot begging for anyone to help me. It was 28 degrees outside and I was cold and hungry. Thankfully, some SNIPSA people happened to be the ones I chose to follow around that evening and they immediately took me in. After a warm bath, a belly full of food, and a nice welcome from their resident pup, I was finally happy and relaxed. They brought me to SNIPSA where I got everything I needed to be a healthy girl ready to find my very own forever home! I have to say I have fully embraced this pet life! I absolutely enjoy the company of my human and four-legged family members. I love to be loved on and am very submissive. I don’t mind water when taking my baths…it sort of reminds me of a relaxing spa day. I am quickly picking up house training and crate training and walk pretty well on a leash if I do say so myself. And if looks could score me a home, I am the whole package, with my cinnamon swirl coat and yellow-green eyes! Do I fit in with your family? I really hope so! Fill out an application today at!

Meet our Sookie girl! This rescue has quite the story and we hope you take the time to read it. Surrendered to SNIPSA several months ago from her owner of many years, we thought Sookie’s biggest hurdle in finding her a home would be her age. Yet we knew her breed and cute little face would wiggle its way into someone’s heart. She received a flurry of interest in just days of her posting on our website and landed herself an adoptive home. All seemed well until her adopter grew very ill and returned Sookie to SNIPSA. We were faced with finding her yet another adoptive family. And this is where her story get’s more colorful. Sookie had a mild cough but just enough of a cough that we thought it may need further attention. A battery of tests were performed which showed a primary lung tumor. Bad news for our Sookie but good news we had some wonderful surgeons on our side. She underwent another battery of tests including a CT scan, more bloodwork, and additional x-rays (can you see the dollar signs adding up?) There didn’t appear to be involvement in the adjacent lymph nodes or evidence of other neoplasia. Tumors like this had a decent prognosis so we decided to give her the benefit of the doubt with surgery. Dr. Israel and her team at Blue Pearl went to work opening her chest and removed the diseased lung and tumor. She spent a few nights in an oxygen cage with a chest tube – a dog ICU of sorts. Two days later, she was ready to be discharged! Dogs have an incredible way of healing and she was no different. And the best news yet…the biopsy revealed a low-grade malignancy with complete excision of the tumor. We expect Sookie to live several more fruitful years. Our sweet Sookie is back up for adoption and looking oh so fashionable in her pink t-shirt. She wags her tail, eagerly waits for her foster mom, and lounges on her favorite dog pillow. She can go on walks and be treated like any regular 10 year-old dog. She is easy going, mild mannered, housebroken, devoted beyond measure, and the perfect lady. She has had one noteworthy adoption story in her short time in our care and we are ready to find her a lifelong home. Please give her a chance. Fill out an application for Sookie at! show less
