About RAMOS

Hello, my name is Ramos! Stuff I love: going for walks, belly rubs, road trips, treats and toys. My favorite toy is ALL of them, but I especially love tennis balls. Looking for a snuggler to read with or for movie time? Then I`m your guy... I`m a snuggler extraordinaire. I`ve made friends with some other big dogs--we have fun playing and running around. I`m a quiet guy, so if you`re looking for a friend who doesn`t bark a lot, I`m your guy! And, I`m house-trained. My Instagram handle: @hi_i_am_ramos - Check me out! Reach out to Ramos` Volunteer Champion and former foster mom to find out more about him: terpackdm@yahoo.com

My StoryI am a gentleman who loves to go out on a walk, but I don’t need to get anywhere too quickly. I love to have a good time and play, but I’m ok with just hanging out if that’s more of your thing. I have been at my current place for about 6 months now and I’m really looking for a change of scenery. I know a couple of commands in Korean and I am very good at “sit”. How many dogs do you know that are bilingual? Also, have you seen my eyebrows? Handsome huh?My Perfect MatchMy last relationship ended after 5 years so I am really looking for somewhere to call home again. A dog bed, a couple of toys and someone to show off my amazing qualities to would be ideal. Also, if you are up for it, I really enjoy a good back/butt scratch. My Ideal DateI’m a pretty laid back guy so I would love a quiet stroll through the national park while we enjoy the company of one another. We could keep it low key and go back home to watch the game and relax with a cold one afterwards, or we could stay out and see the sights and picnic. I will also say that ending the date with a few kisses is probably a given.Send me a message if you’d like to share your home with me. Of course I’m up for a long-term place to call home, but if a short-term foster commitment is more your thing I can be flexible.***Want to learn more about this sweet boy? Buddy is the epitome of resilience. After his owner died and nobody in the family could care for him, he lost the only home he ever knew and was surrendered to the shelter. Buddy was understandably afraid those first few days…. he would shake and cower and we were pretty worried about him. But then Buddy decided this wasn`t such a bad place after all and we all finally got to meet the real Buddy! The confident, goofy, sweet Buddy. The very chatty Buddy! That`s right… Buddy has all the gossip and he wants to tell you all about it. Oh, you`re looking for a housetrained dog? Check! One who walks nicely on a leash? Check! You`re also looking for a dog who likes to go on hikes and explore? Check! And you want a dog who is sweet and happy even after all he`s been through? Check! Buddy lived with a poodle in his last home, and we think with proper and slow intros, he could live with another dog again. More than anything, though, Buddy is looking for a human to come scoop him up and remind him that it`s all gonna be okay. He`ll return the kindness with sweet Buddy kisses. As a member of the Orange Dot Crew, Buddy goes home with a harness, training voucher, and all the support and guidance you need. Please email us for more information on Buddy, or to set up a time to meet him: orangedotcrew@gmail.com show less

Meet Diesel! This sweet boy spent a month in a foster home who loved him dearly. They wanted his future adopters to know this``Diesel needed some time to warm up after spending almost 3 months in the shelter but he did so very quickly. We have two pups and the bond that they have created over the past month has been beautiful to watch. He is a gentle giant, a sweetheart, and will steal anyone`s heart that he gets to spend enough time with. He requires some work and training but the investment you get back when you put in that time with him is indescribable. We opened our home to Diesel but now our hearts will always we be open to him as well. He loves to cuddle up with you on the couch and is perfectly happy being part of a dog pack. It will be one of the hardest decisions in our lives to bring him back after fostering him and if we had the space to keep 3 pups we would have absolutely adopted him ourselves. To the family who adopts Diesel:Give him some time to warm upHe appreciates knowing boundaries and rules of the houseMake sure he has bones and toys to play with because eventually when he is ready it will light you up with joy to watch him playHe loves booty rubs and gives the sweetest kissesIf you give him your love, time, a warm place to sleep, and some food, you will receive love in abundance for years to comeWe love Diesel and we are so heartbroken to see him leave our home but we are excited for the future adopter who will get to experience his love.`Learn more about Diesel by contacting his staff Champion at lorian.epstein@austintexas.gov. Or come down to the shelter and meet him at Austin Animal Center! He`s available for adoption, foster, or VIP adoption - which means you`ll have two weeks to get to know each other before sealing the deal! Come to the Austin Animal Center at 7201 Levander Loop during open hours (11am-7pm) to meet him! show less

People are Mamas` favorite. She wants to always be nearest them if she can and her favorite pastime is napping at her owner`s feet. Mamas enjoys long walks and even occasional jogs. When she visits a dog-friendly restaurant or bar, she will likely position herself in the best spot to meet the most people. She has even been known to walk up to perfect strangers at other tables to nap at their feet. Mamas has never met a person she didn`t like and the kids on her street know her by name because she is so gentle, warm, and loving towards them (gives lots of kisses). She has even done well at the office, too! She has never had an accident inside the home and she asks for permission before joining you on the bed or couch. She doesn`t bark much and doesn`t have an overwhelming presence (jumping on people, getting rowdy when guests enter the home). That`s not to say she doesn`t have a warm welcome when her owner walks in the door. She does laps around the house when her caretaker arrives home after a day of work to show her excitement that you have finally made it home. Overall, Mamas is a wonderful companion and would be the perfect touch to a home that is missing a little extra love and personality! It remains a mystery as to why someone hasn`t adopted her yet! Sally the basset hound!Sally currently lives in her foster home with 2 humans and 2 cats. Efforts made to bond are completely worth it because she loves with her whole heart and does bond quickly with her people. Though Sally has a little age on her, she has plenty of energy for a dog her age and always has a wagging tail. She is a quirky girl who is looking for a slow paced, adults only home and would prefer to be an only dog. Sally is a versatile girl who loves exploring around outside and basking in the sun yet she also enjoys a good snooze in her blanket that she burrows into the perfect Sally shaped nest. She is also familiar and comfortable with a crate and sometimes uses it as a place to retreat for some alone time. She`s a sweet, deserving older gal ready to be honored with a home of her own - one filled with endless head pats, compassion and praises from her people.Sally comes with support from the AAC team and the Classic Canines senior shelter dog advocates. Meet Scout! This handsome fella is looking for a special adopter who can help him be the best dog he can be. From his friends at Orange Dot Crew: `We just love this quirky dude! And it`s important to know that he is indeed quirky. While going through heartworm treatment as a young’in, his family did not touch him because they were worried it might excite him too much. We know it is important to do your best to keep your dog calm during heartworm treatment. However, not being touched, while also being confined for so long during a crucial time in his young life, made Scout wary of being touched by people he didn’t know well. Scout’s trust must now understandably be earned. But if you are patient and willing to go at his pace, he will open up and show you what a loving boy he is! While it can be disappointing to not be able to touch him as much as we’d like, that’s his preference and we respect his boundaries. It’s important to go slowly and show him that we are his friends! Scout`s favorite thing to do is lie in the kiddie pool. He is not a fan of big swimming pools because he can`t feel the bottom! But give this boy a kiddie pool, and you have one very happy (and wet!!) pup.Scout is as smart as he is handsome! He knows several commands (sit, down, shake, stay) and we have no doubt he can learn even more if you want to work with him. Scout can also live with other dogs in a properly managed environment (which is just a fancy way of saying - Scout does not like to share treats or toys!).` show less
