About LJ

DOB: 3/30/18 LJ aka Star is a beautiful 1 year old maine coon mix who was born on the streets and didn’t get to know how nice people can be until she was 6-8 weeks old. Because of this she is a little timid. She needs a quiet one woman home and needs to go with her mom Lizzie (also a maine coon mix) or one of her brothers Puff or Skunk. She needs the security of their familiar bonding. She loves to be held and cuddled at dinner time (canned food) and in a quiet home she will probably come out of her shell day by day. If you want to share your home and love and time with her you will be rewarded with wonderful nuzzles and purrrrrrrs. If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent. If you are unable to send an email to the foster parent through the link included above, please contact us and let us know what kitty you're interested in.  You may also fill out our adoption questionnaire to speed up the screening process.  Be sure to name the cat in the CAT PREFERENCE field at the beginning of the questionnaire. DOB: 4/2013 Anabel just came back from a 2 year adoption, through no fault of her own. She's overcoming the resulting shyness very well. Originally found in the street, she thrives on love and attention, purrs, sleeps and cuddles with her foster mama, and comes running to greet you at the door. She's exceptionally large, especially long, and with her striking markings and big eyes we believe she's a good part Bengal. When she lived here before she would stand up, put her paws around the round doorknob, and open the door! She can be an only cat, but with careful introduction should be able to accept a companion. She's not an alpha cat at all. We want to be sure that, after all the changes she's been through, her next adoption will be the last. She loves young foster kittens If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent. DOB: 8/28/18 Anastasia and her siblings were rescued from the LA City Shelter system as underage kittens.  She is super sweet with soft gray and peach fur and pretty hazel eyes.  Anastasia has a peach flame on her forehead, rising from above her eyes.  Anastasia is a quiet kitten with calm energy, but also likes to gently play with her siblings.  She loves to cuddle on the couch, and adores pillows and beds on the floor.  She is likely to be a very chill, easy going cat as she grows up with a hint of a leader. Anastasia must be adopted either with a buddy or to a home with another kitty. She is great with kids and would be an amazing addition to any household. DOB: 7/15/18 Angel was a bottle baby so she likes to cuddle with her human, albeit on her own time. She has quite the sassy, quirky little personality. Three of her most adorable traits are the adorable chirping sounds she makes when she talks, her huge owl-like eyes and her ability to play fetch. Angel absolutely loves to chase the cat wand and laser toy with her human and she is quite content playing alone with her cat toys while her human is at work. She prefers to be the only feline princess in the house so she would do best in a single-cat household.  You are invited to meet Angel and see for yourself what a silly, sassy, gorgeous girl she is. DOB: 3/13/17 Hi, I'm Angelina.  I gave birth for the last time to five beautiful babies born March 15th of 2019.  We were all rescued from West Valley shelter about three days later. I am sweet and curious.  I enjoyed having my kittens around and not having to worry about food or shelter for them.  It allowed me to relax a little and learn to enjoy pets from humans.  I am most known for carrying stuffed animal toys in my mouth and taking them to my kittens to nap with.  I sit very patiently when waiting for my meals to be served and will some times even let out a 'trill' of thank you before I have my first bite of food. Being rescued was the best day of my life at this point, the only thing that would top it, is  if I can find a home and a new family to love and love me back.   It would be wonderful to be adopted with one of my babies: Pax, Knox, Shiloh, Vivienne or Zahara, but not a requirement. DOB: 5/14/2012Arwen is a gorgeous little brown tabby and white girl with soft golden eyes.  This sweet girl was rescued from death along with her 4 less than 1 week old kittens.  The shelter had planned to kill the entire family but they were spared and brought to foster care just in the nick of time.  Arwen was in desperate shape, little more than skin and bones, and unable to care for her kittens.  She was weak, scared, and depressed.  The 4 babies were sent to a bottle feeder where they flourished and Arwen spent a solid week being syringe fed as she lacked the energy and motivation to even eat.  Time brought healing and as Arwen began to put on weight, she also began to take an interest in life again.  Arwen has made some tremendous strides forward and her progress in her new foster home has been lovely to experience. When first rescued and brought back to health she was really afraid of hands. She was always very happy to see her foster mom and would roll around asking for pets, but she was still afraid of human hands.  After a couple of pets she would swat at the hand with just her pads, no claws.Arwen is now out and about playing with the other felines in her foster home. She has four playmates, and she loves them all! She has never, even from the very first time, hissed or growled at another cat. Even at the adoption events that are stressful in nature, she has never hissed at another cat. She is very playful and runs around with the 6 months old kittens, (it's a good match- she's a small cat!). From time to time the two neighborhood feral cats come in to say hi; they're all friends and Arwen is very curious about them.  Plus, it looks like sweet little Arwen has found herself a boyfriend- at least he thinks so!  It's endearing to witness. It's easy to see that the guys would like her; she prances around being light on her feet when she walks and run! She no longer is afraid of hands, as long as the hands don't make quick, rushed, and erratic movements, she loves, loves, loves to be petted, and she will purr up a storm if you let her.  She is still afraid of an erect body and a human body coming towards her, but even here she has changed dramatically with each passing day. Especially if she's up high on a cat tree or kitchen counter or the like, she has no problem with a body walking towards her. As a matter of fact, then she seeks out your hand for pets! Lately, Arwen has started to really want the human presence. Instead of running away, she has followed her foster parent around from room to room in the house; not glued to the heals, but all of a sudden she has appeared in the same room. Her foster mom was positively surprised the other day when her roommate told her that Arwen had come into the kitchen and rubbed against her legs, even though the roommate was fully standing up making tea. Later when the roommate was on the couch, Arwen came up next to her and rubbed her head against the roommates hand. Arwen needs patience, love, and understanding as she continues to recover from whatever made her so terribly scared.  Arwen would be best suited in a calm, quiet household where she can feel secure and safe.  If you're looking for a kitty who is low maintenance, but is a good playmate for your cat, Arwen would be your cat!  Arwen would not do well with children at this point in time, and wants a dog free home. Arwen is fixed, tested for FIV/Felv, microchipped, dewormed, flea treated, and up to date on vaccines. If you are interested in learning more about Arwen or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent. DOB: 8/20/12 Aziza was one of our original cat moms on our Explore.org camera room. She and her kittens had many fans and everyone was thrilled when she was adopted! Fast forward 6 years, and Kitten Rescue received an alert that Aziza was at one of the city shelter's. Unfortunately, her adopter never reclaimed her and she came to the Kitten Rescue Sanctuary.    Aziza is an easy going, affectionate cat who doesn't mind other cats. She doesn't engage with them to groom, or nap or play, but she is not aggressive toward them. She would be just as happy to be an only kitty as well. Aziza loves to get attention and will give love nibbles to your fingers sometimes. She will also swat at you if stop petting her before she thinks the pet session is done. DOB 4/12/13       Beamish is truly wonderful kitty.  He's a big, handsome, soft tabby & white.  He loves to play with his toys!  His favorites are his tunnel and turbo scratcher.  Beam also loves to play with his kitty friends.  He is a very funny kitty – he sometimes likes to sleep on his back with his legs up in the air.  He also likes to snuggle in bed and purrs like a locomotive. He’ll come when you call him, “Beam!”  He makes an adorable chirping sound. Beamish needs a little extra care. He needs Miralax twice a day to keep his stool soft.  I put it in food in the morning and evening and he thinks it's a treat. DOB: 10/2/18  Beatrice is a very special girl. She is such a sweetheart, she loves to snuggle an purr! She is social and seeks out human affection. She’s playful and enjoys stalking and wrestling her sisters, Betty & Iris, but can also be very mellow and snuggly. Her favorite pastimes include eating (she is REALLY passionate about the eating!), climbing, wrestling and cuddling. She has the sweetest little face, beautiful round green eyes, a big warm belly and extremely soft, thick, medium-long hair. Bea is likely a Maine Coon mix due to some of her telltale characteristics: the “ruff” of fur around her neck, the long hair at the tips of her ears and in-between her toes, and her larger-than-average size. This sweet girl can’t wait to find her forever home and start bonding with her new family. Because Beatrice is so young she needs to go to a home with another kitten or young cat. She would likely do ok with a low energy, mellow, well behaved dog and would do best in a home with older kids. DOB: 5/2014 Beatrice and her siblings, Skeeter, Potter and Pippi were  all rescued from the pound when they were going to be killed.  They all fell in love with their foster mom's dogs as soon as they met them, so it's a pretty safe bet they were born into a home with dogs. Beatrice is sweet and playful but not a cuddler. A little shy at first but then wants to play.  This adorable girl LOVES, LOVES, LOVES dogs!!!  She is on the quieter side. She really needs to be with a dog and hopefully a cat, too.  She likes to sleep in the middle of the dogs. As much as she loves dogs, she also loves other cats and has lots of play in her.  She does like belly rubs. She loves older kids and likes nothing better than to have someone sit on the floor and play with her.  If you sit on the floor, she will come right to you!  She is getting lost in the shuffle of her busy foster home and not getting enough attention. Beatrice is a little reluctant around new people. She much prefers the company of dogs and at least one of her siblings. She loves to find new things to entertain herself around the house and is a funny personality for those who don’t want a cat who likes to be cuddled. She will come to you if you are on the computer and definitely when you are eating!! She loves treats.  She will also come if you sit on the floor and give her a second or two to check you out. https://drive.google.com/folder/d/0B1WCGx0vQ2HTNllydnI4UFBlNlU/edit If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent. DOB: 3/2/19 Bellflower is a confident girl! She has strikingly dark tear ducts which give her a wild look! Bellflower is a medium energy kitten who enjoys playing with her siblings and chasing wand toys but will equally enjoy a long cuddly nap!  Bellflower and her sister Begonia are a dynamic pair who’s energies are compatible.  Begonia is just a bit more outgoing than Bellflower but both girls give off an air of confident abandon!  Bellflower must be adopted with another cat/kitten.  If the home already has a cat that would play with her, she can be adopted alone but if not then she needs to be adopted with another kitten.  Since she lives at the Adoption Center with 12 other kittens including 5 of her siblings, she will have lots of friends to choose from. DOB: 5/1/07 Boots is an interesting character. She was in a home with someone until she was 7 years old and was then returned to Kitten Rescue when her human decided to move to a building that didn't take pets. Boy oh boy, Boots did not take that move well. She acted feral and hissed and growled at everyone and for a long time we thought she hated other cats, too. She initially bonded very strongly with one of our caretakers. Recently she has taken to others and is able to be out and about with the other cats at the sanctuary, but she is still not very happy that they exist. Boots would love to have her own home again, ideally with a person who will take the time to let Boots adjust to a new home and preferably has no other cats. DOB: 7/1/17 Hi there, my name is Bunny because I have such soft, fluffy fur. I was an outdoor stray most of my life until I got pregnant and these nice people took my babies and me in. It takes me a little while to warm up to new humans, but once I do I love cuddles and will head-butt for more! I love other cats and made friends with all the cats in my new home right away. I also love, love, love my foster’s catio where I can feel the wind through my fur and pretend that I am still a scrappy stray — adventure every day, living by my wits alone! And then I can go inside, have some nice food, and relax in the AC. It’s the best of both worlds! I would do well as an only cat in a quiet house where I could come out of my shell and really bond with a human, or as a cat friend to a kitty who recently lost a close kitty friend. My favorite cat at my foster home is another cat who also gets along with all cats. We really get into kissing and cuddling together. I’m told that it's kind of over the top If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent. Candy is a bit shy when she meets new people so she needs someone that will be patient and loving while earning her trust. She does not run and hide, she simply stays an arms reach away while she observes and assesses new people she meets. DOB:  3/1/2003 Look at that sweet tough guy face! I call him Cappy since he seems like he is 'the captain in charge'. Although Cappy has had a rough & tumble life, you would never know it from his personality. He is just a big, loving, extremely easy going kitty. (He would make a great couch potato companion.) After an exhausting evening of watching TV, this handsome orange and white fellow will head butt you and then sleep quietly at the foot of the bed. He loves to have his fur brushed and will roll over to show you his pure joy (and his cute tummy!). Cappy is a low maintenance type of kitty - not one of those hyper youngsters! He is an adult cat but has many, many years to give companionship and love to some lucky person. He does like to be 'king of the castle' so he can be an only kitty or could go to a home with a non-alpha, gentle resident kitty. He is dog-friendly. Cappy is a special kitty - he has FIV, which is not a big deal. Given proper care and attention, an FIV+ cat will have the same lifespan as any other indoor cat. The disease is extremely hard to transmit from cat to cat, requiring direct blood contact, typically from a deep puncture wound. It cannot be transmitted to humans.  Click here to read an excellent article about FIV. Cappy has spent too many years looking for a loving home. DOB: 9/7/10Cappy is an affectionate, smart, energetic cat who is playful and fun. Absolutely devoted to playtime, Cappy will happily bat around spiral toys as if playing ice hockey. Up and down the hallway he’ll slide, using his left leg and then his right to score a goal.  He’ll jump. He’ll fall. He’ll fearlessly throw his body against a wall. Then shake it off and get back into the game. In fact, Cappy would rather play than eat which keeps him on the slim side. He is a curious kitty who explores on his own, as if hunting or in search of his next adventure.  When Cappy misplaces his pucks (I mean toys), we hunt for them together.  I move the big furniture and Cappy runs behind each one to check. It’s almost a game in itself. Cappy’s wide-eyed expression is sure to make you smile. Scoop him up and kiss his belly. He’ll purr and snuggle and then be off again.  Arrange to meet Cappy soon.  He’s everything you are looking for.If you are interested in learning more about Cappy or in adopting him, please click here to email his foster parent. DOB: 7/7/18 Cate and her 2 siblings, Orlando and Live, were pulled from a shelter at age 6 weeks. After being fixed, they went to another foster, and took just 1 day to start being at home, loving on their new foster mama and new foster siblings. Cate is super playful and affectionate, and watched carefully for a day before she started accepting us. She purrs to the touch. She's lovely with her dilute (pale) calico/torbie (tabby + calico) coloring. Because she's so young, she needs another kitten to be with. One of her siblings is perfect, or perhaps you have a young cat who needs a companion? That would be good, too. Mr Green and Cate have fallen in love and are now bonded. It would be best for them to be adopted together.'  If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent. DOB: 5/22/18 Chico aka Chico Chonky is your quintessential, lovable rouge.  When this fearless leader is not rabble rousing the troops to play play play you can find him face and sometimes feet deep in his food bowl. This kitten can eat…and eat…and eat some more. He loves food, any and all, though he is not a man of discerning culinary tastes he makes a fine dinner companion.  He would probably say he needs all that food so he can grow into his feet, which are the size of a small puppies and look like tiny catchers mitts when he plays. Which second to food is his favorite thing to do.  Chico also enjoys “helping” around the house.  He seems to have a preference for laundry, although I have yet to see him fold a single shirt. He loves unmaking beds while you make them and dishwashers are often a source of entertainment for Chico.  It’s like having your very own project manager. Chico enjoys the company of other cats as well, including a resident 3 yr old male in his foster home. Who if truth be told can be a grumpy old puss, but that doesn’t stop Chico Chonky! Like Don Quijote fought windmills this kitten will stare down the vacuum cleaner and with stand the snubs and abuses of other cats with aplomb. He would make an excellent companion cat for a home with other pets.  He will wear them down with his rascal charm and loving spirit. Because at the core of this kitten is a big soft heart that loyally commits to his tribe.  This makes him somewhat shy in new social situations and with new people.  He is still curious with new folks, he certainly NEVER hides-he’s too nosey and playful for that- he just won’t go jumping into the laps of any old guy or gal. He’s too discerning for all that, and keeps his cards close to his big loyal lovable heart.  But once you bond it’s all over-Chico Chonky is your buddy for life. He’d probably say it isn’t the quantity of friends you have it’s the quality.  That is if he could speak, which of course, he can’t. But he has learned some pretty cool new tricks like sit, and paw, and jump…so who knows maybe down the road he’ll surprise you. : } For more photos and to contact regarding adoption please feel free to message me at https://www.instagram.com/thevaleriecruz/ or valeriesadoptables@gmail.com  If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting him, please click here to email his foster parent. DOB: 3/14/19 Chiff Chaff  and his 6 identical siblings were pulled from a shelter at age 2 1/2 weeks, so they probably did have some mama's milk. They were all bottle fed at the Kitten Rescue Nursery, and are now in foster care, fully weaned, learning about how to live in a house with other cats of all ages. They are extremely playful, both with the brother and with the younger foster sister and young adult foster cats. Play, play, play! then eat, eat, eat! and sleep. Of course there's lots of purring and loving to do with their people, too. If you enjoy glamorous black cats, then  Chiff Chaff is for you. At such a young age, another kitten is needed, and being adopted together with his brother Warbler is fine. However, if you have a young cat who wants a buddy, that's good too. DOB: 4/4/16 He is the sweetest cat, who loves chilling out and bonds easily with people.  He is a friendly, healthy and relaxed guy. He is content sitting next to you watching tb and will follow you around the home like a dog. He is a low maintenance kitty who loves to hang out and get chin scratches.   We call him a beatnik poet kitty because he has such a unique personality, sometimes contemplative looking out the window, filling in his back to look at shadows on the ceiling while waiting for belly rubs. He seems to ponder life and want to talk to you about it.  He gets along well with other friendly pets. He is content spending time spending time with kitties but mostly loves his human friends. He has a charming and idiosyncratic personality. He is a chatty kitty and will have full conversations with you. He will also meow when you come home “hey, where have you been?” And he talks to himself a bit pondering life. He respects “people” things vs “cat” things. He is a gentleman and eager to get a home of his own! Clint is a quiet little boy who needs a calm, relaxed home where he can thrive.  He will cuddle on the bed and couch with you, gently chewing and licking your fingers, and will go bananas for interactive play!  He’s not the kind of cat who will greet strangers at the door, but give him time to get to know you and you will have a sweet, precious companion.  Clint is a fantastic little boy who deserves an amazing home! DOB: 2014 Cody wears a big heart shaped mark on his side. It can't be any clearer that this 4 year old boy is an absolute Sweetheart! He had a tough life until he was rescued and he couldn't be more grateful. Cody is a very friendly & gentle giant and he just loves to be part of family living. He loves his foster cat friends (Bizou & Benny & Peter) and makes the best friend to cats & humans. He has a very good appetite and enjoys his wet food meals and dry food. He is very well behaved & clean. There is something really special about Cody! He looks at you and is trying to communicate and he follows around the house like the best buddy would do. When interested people meet Cody, they are smitten by his amazing personality and that he can be held like a baby but the moment they hear that Cody is FIV positive, they turn away, not realizing that they just met one of the greatest cats alive!!! Cody  is very healthy and can live a very long life if getting good care & love in a nice indoor home. His foster parent will gladly explain FIV in Cats. There is no reason to turn away from Cody if opening ears, eyes & heart to him.  He lives with many other cats and gets along well with them so he could be adopted into a home with other cats or as a single. Cats with FIV+ often gets passed over because people feel worried about the diagnosis. However, given proper care and attention, an FIV+ cat will live the same lifespan as an FIV negative cat. The disease is extremely hard to transmit from cat to cat and it requires direct blood contact (typically from a deep puncture wound). It is not transmissible to humans.  If you are interested in learning more about Cody or in adopting him, please click here to email his foster mom.If you are unable to send an email to the foster parent through the link included above, please contact us and let us know what kitty you're interested in.  You may also fill out our adoption questionnaire to speed up the screening process.  Be sure to name the cat in the CAT PREFERENCE field at the beginning of the questionnaire. DOB:  7/4/18 Hi, meet Colby!  Colby had a home but then found himself living on the mean streets of LA.  Some wonderful 6th graders scooped him up and took him to their teacher, and in turn, she hooked him up with Kitten Rescue LA. Colby has been in foster care for the last month and absolutely loves living the indoor life again.  A constant food source, cushy beds, and human servants are exactly how he wants to live his life.  Colby is a super sweet boy, great with other cats, but hasn’t been exposed to dogs.  He doesn’t care too much about that though, as he really loves just hanging out with humans.  He liked the little 6th graders that saved him, so would enjoy a home with kids.  He’d love a family that would play and cuddle with him, and hopefully, even have someone at home most of the day to keep him company.   Colby has tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). FIV is not a big deal; given proper care and attention, an FIV+ cat will live the same lifespan as an FIV negative cat. The disease is extremely hard to transmit from cat to cat, requiring direct blood contact (typically from a deep puncture wound). It is not transmissable to humans. DOB:  3/1/08 Look at Cookie’s sweet face! This sweet healthy kitty has an endearing head tilt and a wobbly little walk, left over from an ear infection as a baby. She looks like she is watching you intently, ready to ask a question. Her fur is soft - grey and white with a white tip on her tail. She was rescued from a mechanics yard as a baby. She loves to have her ears and chin rubbed. As I sit watching TV she comes over and looks up at me intently. That means she wants to be petted - her ears are the favorite spot. She will roll over on her back, showing her tummy to tell me how happy she is. Her favorite sleeping place is a soft bench in my living room. And she loves to accompany me to the bathroom in case I get lonely in there. She also loves to play with toys - tossing the furry mouse high in the air. Then she grabs it and off she goes, running with it. She gets along fine with other cats as long as they are docile and will not threaten her. Cookie is a low maintenance type of kitty. She has had a hard knock life and is just looking for a loving home.  If you are interested in learning more about Cookie or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent. DOB: 11/14/12 Look at that sweet face & those sad eyes! Coop (born in November 2012) is actually a happy fellow. He loves to play chase with the other kitties running thru the house with glee. His favorite toys are the Star Chaser and the Undercover Mouse - he seems to love toys that go around & around. Coop is also fascinated by TV & likes to sit on the arm of the sofa watching it (does not seem to have a show that he favors). He also loves to watch the moths flying against the window at night. He meows at them but I am not sure what he is saying. As you can see, Coop is a handsome Turkish Van mix. His fur is short & sleek - very soft. His eyes are a stunning light blue green. DOB: 4/2/2019 Daisy and Poppy are two very sweet sisters. They are a package deal so you can double your pleasure with these two little angels. They were in one of the city shelters at only four weeks old in a bad way so we bailed them out. They have been very healthy from day one. Daisy is the gray tabby and Poppy is her longhaired sister with white. They are both very good eaters, excellent ball players and chasers and they have very refined litterbox habits. They pay close attention when the litterbox is cleaned, they have to make sure it meets their standards. Two little ladies with very nice manners. Poppy (the eater) thinks that food comes from the sky, so when it’s mealtime, she twirls around in circles looking up making little squeals and chirps of happiness. When the food “lands”, she attacks it while Daisy (the runner) takes advantage of the distraction to run halfway down the hallway. Surprisingly, Daisy is the heavier of the two, but probably not for long. DOB: 4/22/16 Please meet Delphine, a sweetheart of an Abyssinian tabby, ('Abby-Tabby!'), mix.  'Del' is an independent and expressive young lady, especially after 'capturing' a favorite toy.  Delphine loves exploring and discovering that perfect, cozy nook where she can nap or just watch you work.  While not a lap cat, Del enjoys being wherever you are! In a show of kindness, Del several times presented her toys to another kitty for whom Del's foster mum is caring.  The other kitty, named Florence, is extremely shy, but once she touched noses with Delphine, the two were fast friends!  Both cats love playing together and chasing each other around their foster's home. Once a young mum herself, all of Delphine's kittens have been adopted, and now it's this lovely lady's turn to greet you when you return home, (usually with a favored toy), and become your forever companion. I have been living with an older small dog, and an older cat for the last month, and I get along with them just fine.  That said, I love my brother Peatree - Hes a black kitty and we love to play together.  When we cant find each other we meow (like the Marco Polo Pool game).  I love to play with string, balls, and do enjoy passing out in sock drawers.    When someone comes home, I typically run up and say hello, and rub against their feet.   You can always pick me up, but I prefer hanging out and following you around.    I'm looking to find a new home, where my brother and I can stretch out and be the center of attention.    Note from the Foster House:  Einstein is a very sweet cat but must be adopted with his brother.  I don't think he or his brother would do well in a single cat home, nor without the one one. DOB: 1/28/18 Eli and Peyton are handsome, twin brothers. They are initially very shy and will need time to build trust. Their backstory is below and people will understand why. They have come a long way in their two loving foster homes. Eli is the more outgoing of the two. He is the first to initiate contact and explore. Peyton follows him like a shadow. Both boys are sweet natured, have never growled or extended claws to anyone. They both will bow their head insecurely rather than be reactive. They both let you hold them, and pet them calmly giving them love. They are precious little beings. We know their true family is out there. They are the type of cats who have bonded to their caregivers and will cherish their human best friend. They had a hard life before they were rescued in Thousand Oaks. Their beautiful mom was an indoor/ outdoor cat and got pregnant. Then she was kicked out of her home permanently because the people “did not want to feed more cats”. She had her first litter in the alley of the apartments where she lived since she was a kitten. Tenants wanted to scare her away so they would throw out leftover food next to the dumpster and lit fireworks so when the hungry kitties approached the fireworks would go off. Eli and Peyton are her surviving kitties. We were asked to help after she had a new litter of kittens who would face the same dangers. Tenants were open about doing harm to the cats and instructed their children to place the fireworks. The parents we spoke to said that “it was funny” when the fireworks scared the cats but “the cats still would not go away”. That is the kind of danger faced by stray cats in Los Angeles. When we assessed the situation, we did not expect to take all 8 cats from the alley immediately. There are rarely available foster homes. But we reached out and kind people took in all 8 kitties. We were able to pick up every kitty and put them into carriers. Eli, Peyton and their mom were fostered together initially. That helped the boys gain trust with their caregivers. They hadn’t met kind people before. Their mom Marcela is a very confident and resilient kitty. She is also ready for adoption. In time, Eli is affectionate with his caregivers and seeks attention. Peyton likes receiving affection when his family is nearby and when he is eating. He is accepting of love and has come a long way. He likes chin scratches and getting massaged with a soft brush. Both boys are playful with toys and like to explore. We are excited for them to find their destined family! DOB: 4/6/17 Enzo Ferrari is a precocious, playful, sweet, affectionate little sweetheart who loves to be petted and held. A bottle baby from our nursery, Enzo has always been around humans and is consequently very affectionate with them. He loves other cats and kittens and wants to be friends with everyone – he gets very lonely if he doesn’t have some buddies to play with. He loves to pounce and play and wrestle with his foster mates. Enzo was born with hydrocephalus – a neurological condition where spinal fluid accumulates on the brain. His condition is currently controlled by two medications which he takes daily and his neurologist says his prognosis is great - there is no reason he cannot live a high quality normal length life. Due to his condition, Enzo is completely blind and has some “interesting” habits, like walking in circles and attacking the air. His MRI shows that one side of his brain is fine while the other has some abnormalities in the areas that control motor function and learning, which explains some of his odd habits and the fact that it takes little Enzo a wee bit longer than it might take a 'normal' cat to figure some things out. Enzo uses the litter pan, but must be given a little time to learn in a new environment. For instance, when coming to foster, we started him in a small bathroom where he would go on the floor on wee wee pads NEXT to the litter pan at first and then within a few days was using the pan. The same applied when we opened his space up - he found the wee pads next to the litter pan in the big room first and then figured out to do his business IN the pan. Since then, he has been completely consistent. He just needs a little time and patience :). He can be startled by loud and unfamiliar noises, so a relatively quiet home without small children and without noisy energetic dogs is best. He’s perfectly fine with crazy energetic kittens and cats, though.  For more information about Enzo and/or Hydrocephalus in cats, please email Enzo’s foster or visit http://www.vetstreet.com/care/hydrocephalus-in-cats-and-dogsIf you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting him, please click here to email his foster parent. DOB: 9/15/2010Fairfax is kind of a weirdo. On the one hand, she can be a really sweet and extremely talkative girl who gets so excited for pets that she chirps and flops around and drools with delight while purring like an outboard motor. On the other hand, she is extremely jumpy and skittish - sudden movements, walking towards her when she is on the ground or loud noises will send her under the couch. This isn't a factor of her upbringing - she was rescued from a municipal shelter as a tiny kitten and handled a lot when she was young - this is just how she is hard wired. This explains why she is still in foster care after all this time. She hides when strangers come to the house, so she can't be home shown. If her foster dad is able to grab her and bring her to a weekend adoption event, she sits in abject terror waiting for it to end, usually burrowing and hiding under the blanket in the first ten minutes and not moving until it's time to go home. It will take a leap of faith for someone to give Fairfax a home. On the plus side, she is very cat friendly, has been raised in a home with dogs and when she is in an affectionate mood she is almost manic in how sweet she is. But, it's not going to be reasonable to expect her to settle down and become a traditional lazy lap cat. She is who she is, and it is very quirky and rather endearing, but a bit unusual. She is, thankfully, extremely well behaved and in good health. So, with all of those caveats, if you are open to the possibility of giving her a home, please click here to email her foster dad, or visit our website at www.kittenrescue.org and fill out our Contact form and ask for her by name. DOB: 3/30/19 Fiona is a sweet, silly, fun girl. She has lots of kitten energy and loves to play! She was a bottle baby so she is extremely friendly and outgoing. She’ll come right up to say hi when you come into the room. She loves to be held, to cuddle in your lap and purr. She is a very unique looking longhaired tortie. She has lots of fluffy fur that is mostly black with good amounts of orange mixed in. We just love her adorable face and her funny hairy ears. Fiona is the largest of her group (of 9 kittens!) but just so loving and sweet, she gets along fantastically with everyone, even the runt who’s a full pound smaller! She’d love to be adopted with her sister, Veronica. DOB: 4/22/16 Florence, ('Flo Kitty'), is an extremely shy, reserved kitty who loves taking treats from your hand.  Florence is  very expressive when it is mealtime, and will always let know when she's hungry, (no shyness about that!) Florence is very playful; she loves chasing her toys and Delphine,  a sweetheart of an Abyssinian tabby mix, with whom Flo Kitty is best friends.  Florence also enjoys playing independently with her favorite ping-pong balls and catnip toys. Flo is an owner surrender cat, so we are uncertain of the cause of her shyness, but she is a very sweet girl who is still just a bit unsure about people.  Thought not a lap cat, Florence enjoys being near wherever her foster mum and Delphine are! Florence would best thrive in a quiet home where her adopter is experienced with shy cats and who is willing to be very patient for the rewards of profound love this beautiful cat will surely bestow upon her forever companion. DOB: 8/22/18 This fuzzy, beautiful gal will steal your heart immediately! Look at that face, and not only is her face sweet, her personality is just the same. Fozzie is very vocal, especially around breakfast or dinner time (she is a healthy eater). She loves to roll around and play with her brothers and sisters (really enjoys playing chase with them!) and loves to play with her ping pong ball and countless other toys. She would be just as content sitting next to you on the couch and receiving belly rubs and back scratches, as she can definitely be a low key lap kitty. Fozzie would do best in a household without dogs and younger children.  If you are looking to provide a great home to this little beauty, then Fozzie is your gal! DOB: 6/20/2003 This gorgeous, lovely girl needs a new home after losing the one she had. Gilda is accustomed to being alone during the day and could be content in a one-cat household. Gilda was trapped as a kitten while living with a feral group on the edge of a schoolyard. She was not wild, however, and ready to play as soon as released. She had been attacked by some other animal and had deep wounds on her face and neck. With antibiotics she healed completely without scarring. Gilda is a glamour girl as cats go. She knows, it seems, how beautiful she is, and plays the prima donna among the other cats in her foster home. She is a spirited cat—active, alert and curious. She loves to 'help' with any house-hold activity underway, especially at the computer, then cuddle on the sofa for TV time.   She was adopted shortly after being rescued, but sadly for her, was returned when her adopter received a job assignment requiring stays in Europe. Gilda was confused and upset at losing what she thought was her forever home. She has regained her composure and is in need of another home where she can feel secure and loved again. She is still a sweet, affectionate cat, and as lovely as ever. DOB: 4/2015 Gizmo got his name because it fits his funny, quirky personality. How is he quirky, you ask? Well, let me count the ways…When he is hot, he lies on his back with his legs sprawled in the air. When he wants to relax, he flops down on his belly with his legs splayed behind him like a frog. And when he grooms himself he sits like a human, licking his tummy while perched on his majestic bum.   He also loves to help you make the bed every morning and play hide and seek beneath the blankets.   Gizmo is a big, sweet oaf that loves to cuddle and receive attention. He is a big loverboy that is not shy about pushing your phone out of your hands with a nudge of his head if you’re paying more attention to your phone than to him. And lets not forget to mention he is always ready for a fancy occasion looking suave in his tuxedo. When he meets new people he is a little reserved for the first 15 minutes as he assesses them, and then he is ready to make friends. Gizmo would prefer to be an only cat though he is okay sharing the spotlight with kittens, even if they do mistake him for their mom. If you are interested in meeting Gizmo, his foster mom is happy to arrange a meet-and-greet. DOB: 3/17/08 Grace “Gracie” Kelly is a special girl. At only 5 weeks old, was rescued from death row with her siblings the day they were sentenced to be euthanized. Gracie has lived with one of her sisters and her brother her whole life…while her brother was adopted back in 2008, Gracie and Greta continue to wait for their forever home. Gracie is a curious kitty but she is also a little skittish, although not as much as her sister Greta Garbo. Gracie spends a lot of her time curled up on the bathroom rug and when not there she can usually be found on the bed (or under it). She wants to know what’s going on but at the same time is a little scared of what that might be. She loves toys (she will sometimes talk while playing) and gets along with most kitties (she loves her big foster brother). Gracie is a bit of an over-groomer, she has licked off most the fur on her lower belly, but other than that she is a happy, lovable girl. Because of her specialness, she continues to be in foster care. You can follow Gracie on Facebook with her sister Greta at  https://www.facebook.com/AdoptGreta or on Instagram @GretaGarboKR If you are someone who will love her for who she is (not a lap kitty) and be patient with all her quirks,  please click here to email her foster mom, or visit www.kittenrescue.org and click the 'Contact' tab to send us an inquiry. DOB: 10/1/18 Gremlin is a sweet little boy…very affectionate and gentle. His foster mom wakes up every morning with him purring in her neck. He has no trouble letting you know when wants attention or  when he is hungry, and he has a cute little growl he makes when he is eating and are other cats near him.  Gremlin’s best friend is his mischievous brother Booger, a black kitten who Gremlin loves to chase and wrestle.  Together they make quite a pair! Because they are so attached to each other, we would really like them to be adopted together. As far as looks, hopefully you don’t require your cat to have a tail, because he doesn’t have one! Instead, he was born with a cute little stubby tail like a fancy Manx cat.  Gremlin thinks it makes him very special, and I think you will agree.  Gremlin also lives in a foster home with other cats and dogs, so he would do fine in a home with both . Meet the indomitable Booger. He is in short, a total character.  His favorite pastime is chasing and wrestling with anyone who will put up with him, especially his brother Gremlin. Booger is also very curious. If you are cooking or washing dishes, he wants to watch. If you are in the bathtub, he likes to get on the edge to keep you company and test the water temperature for you. Booger also has an adorable little meow he makes whenever he is excited or having fun, even if he is off exploring by himself.  When he is done playing and wants to rest, he will snuggle up with you and let you scratch his belly and purrs like a baby.    Booger was rescued with his brother Gremlin. They have been through a lot together and are best friends, so we would like them to be adopted together. Booger also lives in a foster home with other cats and dogs, and has made fast friends with all of them.   If you are interested in learning more about these kitties or in adopting them, please click here to email their foster parent. DOB: 3/17/08 Greta Garbo is a special kitty. At only 5 weeks old, she was rescued from death row with her siblings the day they were sentenced to be euthanized. Greta was adopted as a kitten but was found a little over a year later in the Angeles Crest National Forest in a carrier, luckily a good samaritan found her and she was scanned for a chip, they called Kitten Rescue and she returned to her former foster home with her siblings. Greta is a sweet petite kitty but she is skittish. She spends most of her time hiding under the bed or the couch, but she does come out and will sleep on the bed and play with toys. She gets along with most other kitties but does not like dogs, they scare her. She can be a little fussy with her attention, she likes her chin scratched and is a bit of a talker when given attention, but she doesn’t like to be touched in certain spots but she will let you know with a warning. When her foster mom has tried to take her to adoption events she hyperventilates and hides. Because of all of this she continues to be in foster care. DOB:  1/15/13 Meet Grover the tripod kitty!  Grover only has 3 legs but that doesn’t slow him down a bit.  Grover is the ultimate lap-cat.  He loves hanging out with his person to watch TV, take a nap or he’ll even keep you company while you do chores.  If you want a cat for company, you have to meet this sweet boy.  Grover is in foster care with other cats and kittens and while he likes them all, he doesn’t need any in his furever home.  The more attention you can give him the happier he will be. Grover has tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). FIV is not a big deal; given proper care and attention, an FIV+ cat will live the same lifespan as an FIV negative cat. The disease is extremely hard to transmit from cat to cat, requiring direct blood contact (typically from a deep puncture wound). It is not transmissable to humans. DOB: 4/2/15 Harley was found as a stray on the sidewalk,  in terrible shape.  He was emaciated and covered in car grease.  The poor boy was starving to death and his gorgeous long hair was covered in mats and dirt.  After a bath and a month in foster care, he is healthy, loving and affectionate, and ready to find his forever home.  Harley is still young and playful, but also loves to chill for hours, sitting next to his human or sleeping on the bed or couch.  He loves to be pet and loves to be brushed. Harley is fully vetted and in perfect health. He did test positive for FIV, but given a healthy diet and living indoors only, he should have a normal, healthy life. He needs an indoor, safe and loving home, and will do best as an 'only' cat. FIV is not a big deal; given proper care and attention, an FIV+ cat will live the same lifespan as an FIV negative cat. DOB: 5/5/14 Henri is a quiet, gentle kitty who would love to have a quiet home to call his own, with a patient human who will take the time to give Henri love and attention. Henri was returned because his owners described him as hiding and being anxious, though he had a very close bond with the 12 year old son in the home. While Henri is not confident around the many cats at the sanctuary, when our volunteers give him one on one attention, telling him what a splendid kitty he is, Henri responds with elevator butt and it is clear that he really, really enjoys getting affection. People who meet me admire my gorgeous looks, especially my beautiful face, gray spotted tabby markings and my very impressive fluffy tail, but my foster mom says my personality is even better.   I consider myself very lucky because I was a stray living on the streets and a nice lady rescued me got me into foster care. I hope my good luck continues and I find my forever home soon.   I very much enjoy sitting on your lap and getting petted. I purr to let you know you are doing a good job. I especially love back scratches. Being a young kitty, I am playful though I am not rambunctious. DOB: 8/23/17 Here are two handsome, year old tabby brothers, Jack and Max, who would love to find their forever home with you. Max, the smaller of the two kitties, is extremely sweet and affectionate.  Max loves playing and racing with brother Jack all round their foster mom’s house to see who can climb the cat tree fastest, and fall asleep first. When not scouting new napping spots, Max is most content observing everything from their cat tree beside the window, or joining Jack to relax on a sun filled window sill. Jack, the “big brother,” is also very sweet, and loves playing fetch.  Jack is a bit bolder than Max, mischievously forging ahead while Max bravely stands as lookout. These energetic gentleman are very curious, and always want to know what their foster mum is doing, especially if it might involve getting some treats. Though not lap cats, Max and Jack follow their foster mom everywhere, and will stretch out nearby to keep her company.  And no matter how far away you roam, Max and Jack will greet you at the door when you return. DOB: 6/22/12 With first impressions, I may seem a little “catty” but once you get to know me I’m very sweet. When you come home I will be sitting right there to greet you. And when I say “greet”, I mean I’ll be perched by the door looking at you for a bit until you offer me pets. In the mornings, I’m most vocal. You wouldn’t expect me to have such a cute tiny meow, but I do. I meow mostly because I’m hungry and want some attention after my long night of chasing around my toy mouse.  At night I like to hunt fluffy colorful toy mice. It’s absolutely my favorite toy. If I’m feeling generous I will offer you my catch of the night to you and place it on your bed while you are asleep. You may end up sleeping on it without noticing if you are a human that rolls around in their sleep. Once I'm tired, I like to sleep in close proximity to a human. If I'm feeling lovey, I may curl up right next to you.  I also love looking out the window at birds and people during the day, but I mostly sleep. I cannot resist when a hand is put out to offer to pet me. I will trot over and aggressively (but cutely) push for pets on my head and under my chin. If you do it wrong I may give you a warning swat (no nails though). Oo, I also love those cardboard scratchy things.  e one thing I can’t stand is a human touching my paws. My nails end up being very long because I don’t like them being touched. My foster tricks me sometimes by petting me and also petting my paws, but I catch her every time. She still can't cut my nails yet. I can be picked up, but I really don't like it.  I also enjoy plants so keeping around some cat grass is nice for me to nibble on. I also go crazy for catnip. My foster home has a small dog, so I am used to their kind. Sometimes I miss her when she goes out for a pee break and cry loud enough they can hear me when the windows are open. I try to offer her cheek rubs when she comes back, but I don’t think she understands me. I had a kitten pal that was temporarily in the foster home with me and we used to wrestle every day. If I could have a playmate that would be really nice.  Sometimes if I’m feeling reserved I hide out in high places, but ever since I’ve been fostered I’ve been more outgoing and comfortable hanging around the humans on their level. Before my foster home, I ended up in a shelter due to an animal hoarding case and became part of Kitten Rescue once I was released from evidence hold. Sometimes fast movement scares me, but I am slowly getting used to it.  Searching for a human who won’t mind my nightly hunts. Kids may not be the best for me because I do swat and have long nails. Looking for someone who understands my cat-like nature. Having another animal or playmate for me is a plus for my well-being. I also need to have some pet-friendly plants to nibble on. Will you be my human soul-mate? <3 More pics and vids of me:  https://www.dropbox.com/sh/y47392cyn00ej2y/AAAYjEni1gplzujWIIksKOiua?dl=0 If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent. DOB: 8/20/18  Looks? Check! Personality? Double Check! Trust me dear Cat-lover, I am the total package! I am Julius, an amazing little boy who offers his humans lots of affection and tons of entertainment.    My foster dad says I am the bestest kitty they ever fostered, then my foster mom shushes him and says 'Shhh, the other cats will hear you.'   I LOVE getting petted. My favorite thing to do is lounge on your lap and get pettings. I purr loudly to let you know you are doing a good job petting me. Make sure to watch my video with the audio on to hear how loud and pleasant my purr is. I am smart, super friendly, easygoing and playful. I run around playing with my kitty friends and with my toys too. I get along well with both boy and girl kitties of all ages.   People who meet me get very impressed with my cute looks and beautiful markings but what impresses them most is my great personality. I am good with kids too.    I was rescued from the street and I am so lucky for that. Now I am hoping that my luck continues and I find my purr-ever loving home and human(s) too.    Hope to meet you soon!   Purrs & kisses Julius, the most awesome kitty ever If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting him, please click here to email his foster parent. DOB: 8/29/17 Kitty Pride is a nerdball who doesn’t even know how to meow! Okay, he does, but it takes about five or six silent meows before the old voice box kicks in. He’s a chill little dude who was raised as a bottle baby with his foster siblings Zula, Barbarossa, and Tribble, and he’d love to find a home with one of them. He’d probably also warm up to another playful kitty, but also gets along with the resident adult cats. He’s never met a dog but he’s relatively chill so there’s a chance he’d adapt to a dog happy home. One caveat with Kitty Pride -- somewhere in his infancy he contracted a bacterial bug that occasionally affects his digestion. He gets bouts of diarrhea and there’s no way to sell this as a feature--it’s definitely a bug. And despite numerous rounds of meds it hasn't quite been defeated. However, over time it has gotten much less frequent and he might grow out of it all together. Plus--he always uses his box. It’s a small flaw in such an amazing kitty. DOB: 3/15/19 Hi, I'm Knox.  My mom, siblings and me were rescued from West Valley shelter about three days after we were born.  I have a twin named Pax and I love to wrestle with him and follow him around.  He might be my favorite toy, or maybe one of my sisters are.  Then there are real toys and those are good too.  I enjoy playing with wand toys and chasing things.  I like naps too.  When is the last time you had a nap, better yet, when is the last time you took a nap with a cutie like me?   I came from a big family so I would like to be adopted with one of my siblings, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne or even my mom Angelina, but if not, another young kitty would be fine too.  I can't be a single cat household. DOB: 1/22/2004 Lady Lily Bug or Lily as we call her was brought to a shelter by her owners. They had lost their home and had been living in their car. They felt she deserved to retire in style and Kitten Rescue stepped in. The guesstimates on her age at 13-15. (Owners said she was 20!) since we have had her she has had extensive dental work and 9 teeth were pulled. She is a Botticelli of cats and had a beautiful motor. When given the chance she will sing an Aria in your bathroom. She is not a fan of our large dog and she avoids our senior cats territory out of respect. She spends her days on my 12 years old's bed, she has a special pillow, or in her kitty hideout. She is not a fan of stairs and spends all her time upstairs. A lot of her behaviors are the result of living in a car for quite a while. She needs a quiet home to retire in possibly with a retired hooman. She is good with older kids, litter box trained, and a love. Can you provide her with her ideal retirement home? DOB:  3/1/16 Lali is an inquisitive and sweet cat that loves being around people. She loves to snuggle and play and often chirps, mews, and to communicate her affection. Lali is very trusting and does not hold grudges. She should go to someone who wants a cuddly best friend and has the time and attention to devote to her. Although she does not currently live with any other pets, her loving personality seems like a good candidate for being around other cats and dogs. The vet believes she is between 1-3 years old. She was found on the street near a cat colony and was originally an outdoor cat, she has adapted beautifully to living indoors and enjoys sleeping on soft blankets and basking in the sun. She’s also full of unconditional love, lots of kisses, and lots of purrs. In addition to being full of love, she is also full of joy. Pretty much everything she does is cute! She’s curious, playful, and very silly. Did I mention playful? Lucy just loves playing with other kitties, trying to swipe their feather teaser toys, playing with stuffed chew mice, anything that rolls and makes noise, and, hide and seek. She is also especially fond of a good meal.  She is independent, sweet natured, and filled with admiration so much so that she purrs every time she sees you. DOB: 12/31/12 LUX (AKA JUDGE JUDY or JUDGEY McJUDGEYFACE) There’s no denying that Lux seems to be judging your every move but we promise she loves your outfit and thinks your hair looks nice! But she does wonder if you wouldn’t benefit by giving her even more of your attention. She’s a fabulous listener -- but not much of a talker...more of a squeaker really. Lux loves to be pet, brushed and enjoys eating with company (and she’ll never turn down gravy). She plays with balls and string but not too enthusiastically -- she’s much too dignified. She’s definitely on the shyer side and takes some time to find her confidence, but once she does she’ll be your trusty couch companion for some Netflix and purr. We don’t know Lux’s backstory -- she was rescued her from a shelter when she was four... But we hope her future will be filled with love and affection in a fantastic forever home. DOB: 3/11/16 Maisey's back ground is a bit of a mystery. She was delivered to us at night in a box, in which she waited patiently until we found her. The note said that her owner passed away and the person looking after her could no longer care for her. The note said that she had had surgery recently but didn't say what it was for.    Maisey is an affectionate, laid back kitty who gets along well with other cats. She enjoys basking in the sun and taking naps.    Also, ummm, she is missing a kidney. We're not really sure what the story there is. How this unfolded: we didn't know if she was spayed or not, so we took her to the vet to have them check for a spay scar. When they shaved her, they found not a spay scar, but a scar that was much longer than a spay incision would be. Since the vet was still not sure if she had been spayed, they did a quick ultrasound to see if she had her ovaries and uterus and what she found was that Maisey was missing a kidney. Well, that was unexpected.    During her time with us, Maisey has not shown any sign of illness, eats well, eliminates well and seems like she is in good health.    We hope someone will soon give this girl the home that she deserves! DOB: 2/28/19 Manchego is a wonderfully sweet, affectionate little dude with a sparkly tabby coat. As the big guy in his litter, he’s always leader of the pack, and meets you front and center for playtime, hugs or treats. He purrs to the touch and loves to be with people and other animals.   Manchego is a medium energy kitten who would be adjustable as a buddy to a higher energy kitten if needed, as he easily loves to romp, tussle and wrestle with his buddies. For now, he is a young busybody kind of guy, but his interaction with people indicates that he will mature into a very loving snuggle bug if you keep giving him hugs as he grows up.   Despite being the frontman in his group, he will let the more vocally-inclined in the group do the negotiating for food. Manchego’s main concern is that he’s not left alone too long when he knows you’re home. He’s great on his own, but he’ll let you know when he wants to connect.   Manchego’s fearless nature would make him a great candidate for integration with friendly dogs, though he hasn’t met them yet. Since he is young and playful, he will need to be adopted with a buddy, and his brother, Ricotta, would be a great match.   Manchego will be at Burbank Pet Plaza most Sundays 12-3pm for meet & greets If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting him, please click here to email his foster parent. DOB: 2/14/17 Marcela is an exceptional, loving and very confident diluted Calico kitty with beautiful hazel eyes. She would thrive as a single kitty in a home without young children or other pets. She will enjoy a calm home with kind people. She is the boss! She adapts easily, doesn’t hide and greets guests. She wants to hang out and watch tv, look at birds out the window, eat yummy food, have a tall cat tree all to herself and get tons of love. She also likes to explore everything. Marcela had a hard life before she was rescued in Thousand Oaks. She was kicked out of her home and her former adopters lit fireworks to try and scare her away. When rescuers assessed the situation, we took her from the alley immediately. Marcella was easily picked up and put into a carrier. She walked into her new foster home with complete confidence and ate food. She went over and rubbed up against all of the people in the room as is to say “thank you”. She doesn’t hide and makes herself at home easily. Marcela deserves the best home in the world! She is a resilient and beautiful kitty. And they love iPad video games as well as the coveted laser toy. They are a social cats and would be great paired together or another friendly cat. They love dogs too but need the company of another friendly cat to play and meet their social needs. We have other awesome foster kitties who would be great companions for them.  They were rescued with their mom and siblings in Monterey. They were fostered by kind people who gave them love and nurtured their confidence. They have been raised with friendly dogs and like respectful kids too. DOB: 8/9/15 Miss Ellie was brought to a city shelter as a stray, full of milk but with no kittens. Luckily, a litter of neonate kittens was brought in at the same time, who didn't have a mommy cat to nurse them. Sometimes things are just meant to be. Miss Ellie has taken excellent care of her kittens, which was witnessed by people around the country and around the world on Explore.org's live streaming kitten camera. ( http://explore.org/live-cams/player/kitten-rescue-cam) Three of Miss Ellie's kittens have been adopted, and the other two are weaned and able to care for themselves now, so Miss Ellie is looking for a home to call her own. Miss Ellie has shown that she is a very special kitty and she needs a very special home. She is on the shy side and will take time to adjust to her new home. Once she gets comfortable, she will give you elevator butt and low, quiet purring. She is not a confident kitty, but she is a loving girl, given time. Her ideal home will be a quiet one, with a patient, gentle someone who has time to spend with her as she gets comfortable in her new home. Most importantly, she should be cherished. Miss Ellie resides in the Los Angeles area. **All kitties available for adoption have been spayed or neutered, FIV-FeLV tested, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and have had flea meds administered ***** If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent. DOB: 7/1/17 Purrer, tap dancer, conversationalist    - Young (around 2 years old)   - Affectionate, smart, silky soft   - Greets you at the door   - Wags her tail at mealtime   Sweet Mona is a happy, loving, mellow kitty. Every time you arrive, she comes to greet you, meow, rub up against you, and purr. When you pet her, she walks around “making biscuits”/ “kneading the dough” in happiness while she’s walking, which makes it look like she’s tap-dancing or marching. :-) Gentle scritches on her forehead can make her melt.    If you “meow” back at her, she’ll go back and forth in earnest conversation. She loves to head-butt your hand – and then your forehead, when she gets to know you better. She’s not too needy, though; after some cuddles, she’s happy to go back to napping in a sunbeam while you get other things done. Very well-behaved – doesn’t get into things she shouldn’t, doesn’t destroy human things (just cat toys you specifically introduce to her), and instantly obeys even mild “No’s.” Gets along well with other cats, but she seems pretty scared of dogs. DOB: 7/11/13 I’m Big!  I’m Bad!  I’m Moosh!  Not only am I devilishly handsome, but my personality is a treat that can’t be beat.  I am confident, smart, curious, attentive, and probably just a little dog in a big cat’s clothing.  If this sounds what you’re looking for – read on.   Ambitions?   To be adopted by someone who has an excellent sense of humor and to perhaps, visit Mars.  (I will always keep you laughing.)  Turn-ons?  Laps, boxes, soft toys that I can bat around, kisses from head to toe, and staring lovingly into human eyes.  (I want to be your love muffin.) Turn-offs?  Singing YouTube babies and car-rides.  (‘Nuff said.) Hidden talent?  I can jump 3+ feet into the air to catch real AND imaginary bugs and toys.  (Try me.)  The way to a human’s heart?  Cuteness, persistence and when all else fails – throw yourself in front of them when they are walking and block the path (or sit on their head).   (What can I say?  I can be a bit…er…demanding.)  I don’t necessarily need another cat around for company but I’ve been with others my whole life and would do okay with one or two!  I was rescued with my siblings and my mom from a parking lot when I was just hours old.  Sometimes black cats don’t find homes right away and I’m still waiting for mine.   If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting him, please click here to email his foster parent. DOB: 2/14/18 Mr. Green arrived in his rescuer's backyard as a kitten, thin and hungry. She couldn't keep him, so found Kitten Rescue and his foster mama. He wasn't accustomed to living in a room in a house and was very scared for a week. But a few weeks later he relaxed, became super affectionate, very friendly with his younger foster siblings, playful, purring, asking for love. It's possible that he might be scared in a new house, so we ask for your patience, to give him time. He'll  regain confidence and relax again! Soon he'll be begging for love and purring again. It would be best if you either have a young cat for him to play with, or if you adopt one of his foster siblings. He'll gaze into your eyes with his startling green eyes while he purrs for you. Mr Green and Cate have fallen in love and are now bonded. It would be best for them to be adopted together.'  If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting him, please click here to email his foster parent. DOB: 9/2/17 Nala is an adorable, spunky & tiny bundle of fun! She is small for her age at 6lbs and most likely will stay that way. She battled pneumonia for months & she won! She has a little scaring in her lungs which means whoever adopts her will need to be aware that she is a bit more susceptible to lung infections, but is otherwise very healthy. You can just look at Nala sometimes & she'll start purring! She also has an awesomely cute meow that kind of sounds like a goat! Nala MUST be adopted with her best friend Coral (E629). They are adorable together & definitely bonded. Coral is incredibly sweet & their personalities balance each other nicely!  You can watch Nala & Coral LIVE online at KittenCuddleRoom.com or see more pictures FB.com/SarahsKittenCuddleRoom If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent. DOB: 9/1/16 Nikki is from a parking lot in Gardena CA I was asked to TNR the lot. I noticed that she did not fear touch so I decided not to release her and try to socialize her as there are no feeders in the lot and the cats hop the fence to eat out of restaurant trash cans. It has been a slow process but she has become just the sweetest petite kitty. She doesn't much enjoy being picked up and held but will come to u for pets, rubs and cuddles all day long. She is very cat social and loves to play. I also have 4 small dogs that are cat social and she has become trusting of them but runs when they get to close. Never has she hissed or tried to scratch at any of the dogs. With patients she has come along way and become such a loving sweetheart of a kitty. DOB: 8/15/18 Nova is a beautiful, chill kitty with a sweet, gentle demeanor. She is the perfect kitty to cuddle up on the couch with and binge watch your favorite TV shows. She will lounge beside you and purr as you pet her. Her three favorite toys are the laser pointer, cat wand and Bergan Turbo scratcher toy. She will jump and chase them until it is time to curl up for a nap beside her foster siblings or on your lap.   Nova is a bit shy when she meets new people. She likes to observe people for a few minutes before she starts interacting with them. But once she warms up, her adorable little personality shines through and she will win your heart. DOB: 1/1/18 Oliver arrived on the front porch where we feed several ferals, but he wasn't feral at all. He was undersized, skinny and very hungry, though, with many healing scratches and wounds. After being neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea treated, he moved inside. Now he's no longer skinny, his wounds are almost gone, his fur is glossy and no longer patchy, and he's super affectionate with people. He's also a huge fan of other cats, including kittens, and has made best friends with the very large, tough, 4 year old Francisco (who is not up for adoption). The 2 are inseparable and play and sing to each other. He should go to a home with at least 1 other cat in residence. Oliver will probably always be petite. DOB: 8/1/17 Opie (CF7961) and Rusty (CF7960) are bonded twin brothers looking for a forever home. They are quite the little pair - they play together, eat together, nap together and wrestle together. And look so darn cute doing everything together. They absolutely love to chase the cat wand and are quite the little acrobats, jumping, twirling and flipping in the air while trying to catch the toy dangling at the end of the wand. When it comes to nap time, they look like a big orange puddle, sometimes it is hard to tell where one brother ends and the other begins. Opie is a friendly, cuddle bug that will seek out love, affection and a warm, comfortable lap. Rusty is a little more reserved when he meets new people, but food and the cat wand are the way to earn his trust and affection. They both sound like purring engines when you pet them. If you want to meet Rusty (CF7960) and Opie (CF7961) to see what an awesome pair of kitties they are, their foster mom is happy to arrange a playdate.   If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting him, please click here to email his foster parent. DOB: 7/1/18  Pantera and Tigre's mother and 3 siblings were kept outside, and when the family moved, they took the mama and abandoned the 5 kittens. Three of the kittens were killed in the street. Fortunately a kind neighbor fed and comforted Pantera and Tigre, but wasn't allowed to keep them. Now they're in a foster home, warm and dry. Their leftover shyness is fast disappearing, and they're purring and cuddling, and making new friends with the other foster kittens and cats. Pantera loves to be petted! and she is quite a flirt. She's sleek and gorgeous with her all black fur and golden eyes. Tigre is smaller, with a medium haired coat of classic grey and black tabby, very handsome. He's shyer but  looks for affection now. Due to their difficult beginning and their bonded love, Pantera and Tigre should be adopted together. DOB: 3/17/12 *****SPECIAL NEEDS**** *****HAS LIVED WITH DOGS AND SMALL CHILDREN********   You would think that being born on St. Patrick's day would have given Pearlie and her little kitty family a bit of good luck, but sadly, just the opposite happened. Pearlie and her siblings were born to their mom in a storm drain during a very harsh storm and when they were found the next day, they were barely alive. The foster parent had to tube feed the little kittens because they were too sick to nurse on mom, and mom was too sick to care for her kittens. After months of medical attention and effort, the kittens recovered to varying degrees. Pearlie lost an eye, has a chronically stuffy nosy and also has a touch of a neurological condition called cerebellar hypoplasia. The CH means she has a slightly wobbly walk, but she is highly functional and can walk and play and use a litter box just fine.    Pearlie would love to be adopted with her sister Belle, who looks just like her. Belle and Pearlie curl up and sleep together, and they love to hang out together throughout the day. Pearlie would love a home with someone who can see the 'special' and doesn't mind the 'needs'. This little girl is affectionate, calm, outgoing and social. Pearlie has lived with small dogs and young children and is comfortable with them. DOB: 3/18/19  Mname is Peatree, and I love to purr right when I wake up and get attention from my foster parents.  I enjoy playing with cat toys such as string, balls, glittery objects, and anything that can make a little noise on hardwood floor.  I also enjoy the cat tree, and stretching my claws into the posts, like my older step sister does.     I currently live with a small dog, and an older cat and get along with both of them just fine.  That said, I do have a  brother named Einstein (Gray Kitten) who I absolutely love to play with. We done like being apart, and play very well together.    We usually greet people when they come home, and provide hours of entertainment with our cat toys.    My brother and I are ready to find our forever home, and be the center of attention.     Note From the Foster: Peatree needs to be adopted along with his brother Einstein (Cat ID H683).  I don't think Peatree or Einstein would do well on their own, as they have been together since day one. DOB: 8/15/10 Queen Teuta of Illyria is a retired three-legged pirate cat who's ready to make your lap her new throne. Her first four years of life will remain a mystery but at some point her ship ran aground on the fantastical isle of Hollywood where she survived by her wits alone. Finally a passing rescue ship took pity on her and she joined the crew of the HMS Kitten Rescue. However, Queen Teuta is not a fan of swabbing decks and furling sails and would like to regain her once royal status in a new Kingdom. She seeks a warm lap for her throne, delicious snacks to eat, and loving hands to scritch her royal ears.  She is a true Queen and as such does not like to mix with the little cats of the world – though she might be convinced to share her kingdom with the right kind of subject, maybe even the canine kind. Queen Teuta has a royal temperament and although she will shower you with affection most of the time she prefers if attention were paid to the royal head and not the royal back or royal legs unless she's feeling particularly magnanimous. She is good with other cats, and is very affectionate people as well, though she does need someone who will be patient with her for a week or two to give her time to come out of her 'tortoise' shell. Though she promises to avoid inflicting 'pun'ishment on her new family! This sweet girl was born in a trailer park to a mom kitty who was left behind when her people moved. Quilpie was found when she was just 6 weeks old and is very happy to be inside, with regular meals and a nice, safe place to sleep. This darling baby will make you feel happy inside as she sticks her chin out for you to rub, and does her best shoe imitation so she can can get her tush scratched! His fur is so plush you will be unable to resist running your fingers through it every chance you get. Quincy is a playful, gentle young teenager that like to romp around with his foster siblings and then curl up for a nap alongside them. He will squeeze himself into a cat bed with his foster siblings or onto an already occupied shelf of the cat tree. DOB: 2/28/19  Ricotta is an amazing little bean of a kitten with a densely fuzzy thick coat, who purrs to the touch and loves rolling on his back to get his belly front and center so you can give it a rub. Ricotta was underweight at the time of rescue and is still on the little side but his personality would beg to differ. He keeps pace with everyone in the room and gives everyone a workout.   Ricotta is a medium energy kitten who has an adjustable energy level, he likes to play harder with his big brother, but has also been a great match for my younger fosters who aren’t ready for the big time. His natural state seems to be more roly-poly, but he can wiggle in and get toys ahead of his brother easily. He’s a wonderful little sweetheart of a guy.   Ricotta is a bit on the vocal side, making little peeps here and there, mainly just at mealtime while you’re serving food, he’ll let you know you’re doing the right thing. He would integrate well with older kittens and cats, though they’d have to be playful since he will pester them for interaction. He may also do well with gentle dogs with a solid integration process. Since he is young and playful, he will need to be adopted with a buddy, and his brother, Manchego, would be a great match.   Ricotta will be at Burbank Pet Plaza most Sundays 12-3pm for meet & greets. DOB: 3/23/2018 Big Eyes in an exceptional little kitty. She always looks shocked and like she doesn't know if she can trust you. She was found at a month old and was super sick, she was nursed back to health but she stayed little from that time. She has very short hair and takes awhile to warm up to her humans but when she does it is so rewarding! She will cry (a cute little yelp) if she feels cornered like you are about to pick her up but once you do, she purrs a ton because she secretly enjoys being held. Earning her love is rewarding and magical - you will fall in love with this skittish little creature.    She is best friends with her older brother Peanut Butter. He is outgoing and brings out the best in her. They need each other to let out all their kitty energy - they would LOVE to be adopted together so they can stay together forever.  Rio and Salem are two 1 year old brothers who are bonded and would love to be adopted together. They are both calm and super playful. They are also affectionate sweethearts.    Salem will let you hold him for extended periods of time while you get all the snuggles you need in. He is pretty low key but still has that kitty energy.   Rio will try and wriggle free if you hold him when he wants to run around, but he will go to you and be affectionate when he feels like it. Eventually he warms up and is the sweetest best friend ever.   They are a true delight to have around - you will enjoy watching them snuggle and play. They are ready for their forever home! DOB: 2/11/16 River is a chill, affectionate and self entertaining cat who likes to be around his human friends but is not demanding at all. He would be happiest as an only kitty. He was rescued in an industrial area of Compton and begged people for food and to take him home. Fortunately, a kind woman did reach out for help and we took him in. He is a gentle kitty, very quiet and loves listening to classical music or catchy like the Beatles. He is an old soul. It is clear that he went through some tough times when he was abandoned but shows people love and gratitude. He is a handsome guy with pale green eyes. He has short hair with Turkish Van style markings (white with charcoal patches, a “V’ marking on forehead and solid dark tail), very mellow, calm, quiet sleeper at night, very affectionate, friendly with people and not shy with people he knows. He is an overall great companion kitty. He will nuzzle in your arms and purr. To have a meet & greet contact his foster mum. He is fostered on the Westside but can go anywhere in LA to meet people.  A takes a village to save a kitty! DOB: 9/30/09 Hi!  My name is Rochana but I am called Ro-Ro and that’s what I answer to. Born behind a Thai food joint, I struggled some. Lots of feral cats and I was tiny and weak. They mostly put out rice for us with bits of spicy meat. To this day, the aroma of well seasoned food makes me come running to see what it is. At 8 weeks, I had twinkly, button-like eyes, and my tiny face was spotted with road tar. Once scrubbed, I emerged as a beautiful, black, bashful kitten. Today, I’m amazing looking. (It’s o.k. to be a little vain, right?)  I am still petite which makes me appear younger than I am. Some comment that I could pass for 9 months old. I get by on my looks. My favorite hangout is highest point in the house, the arched eyebrow window in the loft, where I watch the world go by. I sit up there for hours contemplating questions like “Why don’t I have thumbs?” and “Why would I bring someone bad luck?” I admit playing hard to get. My caretaker tries to grab me all the time. She calls it Hug Therapy. Sometimes it’s o.k. The next day, not so much.  But I can’t resist a lower back scratch. Cappy is my playmate. He has lightning-fast ninja moves and jumps onto me meowing, “Aaahhhiii-yaaay!”  He’s very young so I guess I am a cougar. And he thinks I smell nice. DOB: 5/24/14 Hi - my name is Rocky, and I'm looking for someone you might know.  This person is pretty special (kinda like me) - and they would take notice of my emerald green eyes, little black button nose and silky blue/gray coat.  They'd be so enamored, that they'd cuddle me and tell me what I good kitty I am.  I am a good kitty you know. They might also notice how sweet I am, and how I love to curl up in the crook of their arm.  Sometimes, people equate beauty with aloofness - well that is not what I'm all about. I want to know what's on your mind - and I will press my forehead against yours, kind of like a mind-meld so that we can be close friends.   I'm young (a spry 5 years old), social and playful - but also very chill.  In fact, when I first came to my foster's place, I was pretty shy.  But my foster mom is patient - and now, I warm up quickly because I trust more.  Right now, I'm living in a house with another big cat and a big dog.  I really dig my cat buddy, and although I'm super polite to the dog, he kinda makes me nervous.  I'm learning though. I have a microchip, I'm neutered, and have all my vaccinations - Tip Top Shape.   I'm hoping to find my forever home soon - so if you find that person - the one I described, please contact my foster mom. DOB: 7/24/17 Rooty Tooty is a super sweet little girl who loves following her hoomans around, sitting on laps and purring. This cuddly little lovergirl is super affectionate and loving. She and her sister Pizookie were bottle babies in our nursery, so they are extra affectionate and human friendly. Rooty’s favorite thing is to sit on your lap and purr. She greets her hoomans at the door, and loves everyone she meets. She loves to bounce around with her sister and then check in with her hoomans for pets and cuddles. Rooty Tooty would love a home with her sister Pizookie or to be the only cat in your life. DOB: 6/1/10Roxie loves people. She loves to be petted and stroked and, most of all, fed. See, for a scary few months when she was a kitten, Roxie wasn’t certain where her next meal would come from, or even if there’d be one. One day she had a home, the next her humans moved and left her behind. Luckily, some neighbors came to her rescue. Though she doesn’t hold any grudges against people, Roxie’s got scars from being knocked around by the big, tough cats in her ‘hood, so she would prefer to be the only furry critter in her forever home. Roxie is spunky and spirited, playful and fun. DOB: 2/14/16 Sabrina is an ultra friendly, year old, golden eyed girl who bonds instantly to people who are nice to her. She purred during first meeting with her caregivers right after she arrived to her foster home after getting rescued. She is a sweetheart! She is not startled by anything and doesn't hide. She just wants love and affection from her human friends. She gets along fine with friendly dogs and respectful older kids. We expect her to adapt well to a young, friendly cat or even an older, calm cat. She acclimates easily to a new home and explores right away to see the lay of the land. But she will stop an activity if you call her over to get pet or brushed. Also, two of her perfect kittens are also ready for adoption. Sabrina was a doting mom and it would be lovely to pair her with beautiful Freesia CF8617 or Bellflower CF8614! We can't say enough about Sabrina! DOB: 5/2011 Samson is a gorgeous, small black panther with a loving, sweet personality. He was born in May, 2011. He has already been neutered. He loves to be petted and when he feels that he is not getting enough he will sit on your lap while you are on the toilet so he has a captive audience to be petted. He always comes when his name is called and will answer with a meow. His eyes change color from green to orange, which is the first time that I have seen that happen. He loves to play, especially with the laser pointer. He also enjoys catnip, A LOT! He is socialized and doesn't mind being with other kitties. Not sure about a dog, I don't know if he has ever seen a dog. Samson has two brothers that each have there own personality. He is much smaller than his brothers. I am independent and don’t need much stimulation. If need something, don’t worry I’ll let you know, I have the cutest voice when I demand attention.  I will need a human that will surrender to all this cuteness and fluffiness but that one person will have to understand that I need time to get used to them.  I was abused as a kitten so it will take a very long time in human in years to get used to you and I am don’t do great with kids. I am good with other animals including dogs! Please understand that I will be scared and will probably hide most of the time.  I have only had one home with my foster since I was rescued so any new places can be overwhelming.  If you think you can change my life and make me trust humans again, please contact my foster mom. DOB: 9/15/15 Snoop is a staff and volunteer favorite at the sanctuary. This guy is a high energy, curious, quirky kitty. He likes to find new places to explore, climbing, burrowing, looking at you from on top of shelves and chirping as he is doing it all!  Snoop has had corrective surgery to fix eye lashes that were growing inward and he also has a condition of his eyes called coloboma which means that his iris' did not develop normally, but not to worry! This condition does not need any extra attention. Snoop's downside is that he has shown some errant urination here at the sanctuary. Now that that is out in the open, we are hoping that someone will take a chance on him, because we think he may have regular box usage if he is an only cat. And he really is awesome! If someone were to adopt him, or take him for a trial run, we would recommend putting him in a bathroom with a litter box for starters and seeing how he does. We KNOW this is a loooooong shot, but as the saying goes, 'You can't win if you don't play.' Here's to hope! DOB: 5/1/15 Spinelli has a huge personality. He is a giant lap cat who enjoys being carried on my shoulder, or walking onto my back if I bend over (he would stay there if I let him lol). He is the leader in the foster home, breaking into cabinets in search of  treats, or zooming around playing keep away with a new catnip toy. He is hilarious! But he hates going to adoption events and hides under the blanket. Spinelli is easily one of the most unique, loving, fabulous cats I have ever met. He would be happiest with another playful or cuddly pet in the home (or multiple). He loves everyone! Spinelli's best friends are W590 Griffin and F674 Sammy, and his siblings are M548 Ellie and O548 Nathan. DOB: 4/10/15 Sybil was first discovered living on the streets and very pregnant.  She was brought inside and soon delivered a litter of seven (yes, seven!) kittens.  She was a good mother and all her kittens were happy and healthy.  But as soon as the kittens were weaned, Sybil made it abundantly clear that she was done sharing her space with other felines.  Sybil loves people -- any size, shape, gender or party preference -- but she does not like other cats or dogs. As long as she is the only cat in residence, Sybil is everything you could possibly want in a companion.  She will greet you when you come home with meows of 'welcome' and 'how was your day'.  If you toss her a toy, she will play.  She will even walk on a leash, if you want some fresh air.  And when you're tired, she will curl up next to you, roll onto her back and make air biscuits.  Sybil is sweet, funny and a good conversationalist.  What more could you ask? If you can only have one cat . . . make it Sybil. DOB: 3/17/2003 Too Much Sugar Ray is a big puddle of love. He adores being picked up and held and will purr in your arms, hugging you. He loves to sit on your lap and be petted, purring REALLY REALLY LOUD. He is the most affectionate cat we have ever met. Ray was doing great until his owner found out that he is diabetic so needs insulin shots. The needles are super small and Ray is the best patient ever. But his owner didn’t want to give shots, so told the vet to euthanize sweet Ray instead :(. Can you imagine your family wanting to have you killed just because you became diabetic? Neither could we - so we took Ray in to foster care. Ray gets along wonderfully with other cats and kittens, and just wants a place he can live out the rest of his years with love and care. He is vaccinated, deflead, dewormed, neutered, FeLV negative, microchipped, and missing most of his teeth. His insulin runs about $25 a month. For more information or to meet Too Much Sugar Ray, please contact his foster mom. Ray has tested positive for FIV (feline AIDS). FIV is not a big deal; given proper care and attention, an FIV+ cat will live the same lifespan as an FIV negative cat. The disease is extremely hard to transmit from cat to cat, requiring direct blood contact (typically from a deep puncture wound). It is not transmissable to humans. Click here to read an excellent article about FIV. DOB: 1/14/11 Twiggy is our feline version of the gorgeous and stylish English model from the swinging 60’s in London! Like her namesake, our Twiggy has big beautiful eyes, stunning cheekbones, and a British accent.  OK…so we made up the accent part -- but who wouldn’t want to listen to that great accent all day long? We have to admit that our Twiggy needed to slim down a bit when she came to us.  We are happy to say that she is slimming down and is now well on her way to being healthier!  How did she do that?  Well, by dancing to a lot of 60’s records, of course! OK….so we made up the 60’s records part – but who doesn’t love to listen to all those British invasion groups?? Not much of a 60’s music fan?  That’s ok! Our Twiggy is happy to listen to just about anything as long as you give her belly rubs, which are her favorites….and we promise we didn’t make that part up! DOB: 3/29/07 Tyson was one of three boys abandoned at a pet store in the summer of 2007. At the time, they were a few months old and fairly feral. Tyson is the only one to have tamed down enough where he actually enjoys human interaction. He can be a touch shy at first before he learns to trust new people, but once he does he's all purrs and head butts. Brushing him makes him the happiest cat on earth. He is extremely cat friendly and has grown up in a house with dogs - he doesn't really interact with them but doesn't fear them either. As he's aged, he's become much more chatty. I suppose it could be senility? He'll just out of nowhere start talking to himself, usually late in the evening or in the morning when it's relatively quiet. DOB: 3/30/2019 Veronica is a very outgoing, people-loving, kitten. Nothing makes her happier than to get snuggles and attention from people. She’ll happily climb up onto your shoulder to sit for awhile (I think it’s her way of getting as close to her person as possible). Her favorite things include eating, wrestling with her littermates, and catching “birds” (at the end of the feather wand). When she catches a “bird” she holds it tight in her mouth and will parade it around the room proudly, but if anyone comes too close she’ll let out a protective growl to make sure everyone knows who’s boss - it’s the funniest thing! She has tons of kitten energy and will surely keep you entertained for hours. She has a wonderfully intense personality and easily becomes the center of attention, even in her large group of 9 kittens. Vee is an adorable shorthair tabby with the sweetest big round eyes. Vee would love to be adopted with her sister, Fiona. DOB: 3/14/19 Warbler  and his 6 identical siblings were pulled from a shelter at age 2 1/2 weeks, so they probably did have some mama's milk. If you enjoy glamorous black cats, then Warbler is for you. At such a young age, another kitten is needed, and being adopted together is fine. However, if you have a young cat who wants a buddy, that's good too. DOB: 2/18/19 Winchester can't wait to grow into his regal name!  Right now though he is a cuddly little guy who is looking to melt his way into your heart!  Winchester is a lover of belly rubs and sun puddles.  He is very close to his sister Corky who looks like him except that she has a unique third color of black on her right side that look like grease smudges!  Corky and Winchester are an awesome pair!  Please consider adopting them together but if that is not doable, please know that Winchester needs to have a cat/kitten in his forever home.  He has never been around dogs so we aren’t sure how he would do, but a dog is not a substitute for another cat to be his friend. Winchester lives at our Adoption Center in Atwater Village with several of his closest friends.  Finding another friend for him should be easy!  If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting him, please click here to email his foster parent. DOB: 3/15/19  Hi, I'm Zahara.  My mom, siblings and me were rescued from West Valley shelter about three days after we were born. I am very sweet and like posing for the camera.  I like playing with my siblings and taking sun baths.  I love to play in tunnels, I even drag my toys in there.  When I was little my mom would drag toys in there for me to play with when I was playing hide and see from my siblings.  Wait, I almost forgot to mention paper towels, I am an expert in turning a roll of paper towels (if left on the ground) into confetti, so if you are planning a party and need some, I am your girl!   I came from a big family so I would like to be adopted with one of my siblings, Pax, Knox, Shiloh, Vivienne or even my mom Angelina, but if not, another young kitty would be fine too.  I can't be a single cat household. DOB: 6/30/17 I am the sweetest tabby you could hope to meet. I love to play and snuggle with other kitties. I have pretty golden eyes and long slender legs. My favorite toy is a fluffy pipe-cleaner – I chase it all over the place and do amazing acrobatics with it! I like sitting right on top of the door and at the top of the cat tower where I can watch the world go by. I love getting wet food twice a day but my favorite time is treat time after dinner. I know when it’s getting to that part of the day and sit and watch foster-mom and meow at her to remind her just in case she forgets. It seems to work every time! I lie by foster mom on the sofa when she watches television and snuggle with her in bed in the mornings. I am still a bit skittish but I have come a long way in learning to trust humans. DOB: 6/11/17 This bonded family can be adopted in almost any combination of a pair. They were rescued from the streets where people were feeding them but no one could give them a home. They are now very happy and grateful to have a warm, safe home with plenty of food. These young beauties are very energetic and playful. They run around playing chase and wrestling with each other and LOVE to play with their human friends with any type of wand toys and laser pointers. They also like to race up and down the cat trees. The girls do somersaults through the holes in the cat trees while chasing their tails! They can be a little shy at first with new people and a new environment but once acclimated are very snuggly and affectionate. They love to snuggle on the bed at bedtime with their humans or just a lazy afternoon cat nap. Ziggy is definitely the Alpha kitty and quite the attention hog. If you are giving attention to any other kitties, he will come running from wherever he is and insist you give him attention too! These kitties would do best in a small, quiet home with just one or two adults to spoil them. They may also get along with a mellow, cat friendly dog. DOB: 10/15/06 Sweet, soulful Zoey thought she had her forever home. Unfortunately, after 8 years, her family returned her saying they were moving in with family members who are allergic to cats. So Zoey is now looking for a new, loving family. This poor girl is perplexed by this turn of events. She is a quiet type of kitty - no trouble at all. She loves petting and will even reach out to you if you stop. She is a dignified girl, no running around the house getting underfoot. All the kitten craziness is behind her. Her sweet green/gold soulful eyes tell her story. This sad turn of events had left her a little shy but after a few months in a wonderful temporary foster home her sweet personality is showing. She has relaxed and is ready to accept love again.  We believe Zoey might have hearing issues which would explain her wariness in new situations. While it will take her a few months to feel comfortable in a new home, she will be a sweet low maintenance type of kitty with a long life ahead of her. Zoey is not needy and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a calm, easy going friend who asks for very little. All she needs is love. She has lived with other cats and young children. She would do best as an only kitty or with another mellow cat.
