About Patsy

Adoption Fee: $650

Meet Patsy! She is a female seven-month-old bouncy, playful chocolate Labrador Retriever. Patsy was surrendered to WCLRR when her family realized that a young, lively, energized puppy was not a good fit for their young toddlers and busy life. Patsy was not getting the type of attention and exercise required for a young puppy.

Patsy loves to play with other dogs and is a people lover. Patsy is crate trained and does excellent sleeping thought out the night or taking a nap in her crate. Patsy is house trained; she will go to the door and sit there to be let out. Patsy is a puppy and could have an accident in her new home while her new family learns a routine.

Patsy is working on her training with her foster and understands the word "NO." She also mastered "sit and stay" and responds accordingly.

Patsy is also working on her leash training, and her new family must continue with that. She has been walked with a harness and is doing well, but continued training will make her even better. Patsy is an intelligent dog, so it will not take her long to complete her training.

Patsy eats anything that does not move, so beware, especially in the garden. Patsy's new home will need to be puppy-proofed. All items such as shoes, eyeglasses, pillows, and anything else need to be put away. Counters will also need to be cleared of all items such as food, medicines, candy, so she can not get into things that can harm her.

Patsy loves her toys, and her new home should have a supply of healthy and safe items for her to chew, such as Nylabones.

Patsy loves to swim and will spend hours in the pool with a ball. She loves to jump in off the side of the pool at her foster home. She could be a great candidate as a "dock diver." Patsy also travels well in the car but needs some persuasion to get in and out of the vehicle.

Patsy does nip/bite and is learning that this is not acceptable behavior. Because of this, we would not place Patsy in a home with young children.

Patsy adores cuddling into you on the sofa at night and will take as much love as you can give her. Patsy has a lot of energy, so she needs a home where people will invest the time in her to complete the transition from pup to adult.

Patsy would like a home where her family is home much of the time. We believe a home with teenagers, and perhaps another dog would be ideal.

Patsy will be adopted with a spay contract. Her foster representative can discuss this with her new family.

Patsy is current on her vaccines and microchipped.

If you believe Patsy would be a good fit for your home, please send an email to adopt@wclrr.org and put "PATSY" in the subject line and express your interest in meeting Patsy.

Meet Chris! He is a 3 to 4-year-old male yellow Labrador Retriever who was rescued from a high kill shelter in the Inland Empire. Chris is exceptionally handsome and a gentle boy who believes he's a lap dog.  Chris likes to settle in with his people and enjoys to cuddle. He is excellent at going with the flow and enjoys being around children and other dogs. Chris also likes to hang out and observe what's going on. He's a low to medium energy dog who adapts well to different environments (inside, outside, car rides, or hang out during your working.) Chris loves to go on walks and will need some training on pulling, especially when he sees other dogs and wants to play, as he is powerful. Chris is also intelligent and wants to please his people, as he responds well to training and direction. Chris is food motivated, which will make training easier. He is crate trained but prefers his fosters couch.  Chris hasn't shown any interest in the pool. He also hasn't figured out fetch. Chris is more inclined to follow his person around the yard and house.  Chris is a larger male Labrador Retriever but very gentle and loving. Chris is housebroken, but with any rescue dog, he could have an accident in his new home while learning a new routine, and as his family figures out his clues to go outside.  Chris is neutered, up to date on his vaccines, and microchipped. If you are interested in Chris and have already been approved to adopt, please send an email to adopt@wclrr.org and put "CHRIS" in the subject line explaining why he is an excellent fit for your family. Meet Tony! He is an 11-month-old Golden/Labrador Retriever mix. Tony is a big boy, on the larger side of those breeds, and is gorgeous. Tony is very mild-mannered for a pup so young. However, he will need training in all areas of basic obedience. Tony is good on leash but could use more consistent practice there too.  Tony is not too keen on crating. But if crating is needed, we're sure he could learn to enjoy and be comfortable in a crate with proper training.  Tony is thoroughly house trained. However, all dogs could have an accident in their new home while learning a new routine.  Tony enjoys playing with other dogs his size but has been too pushy for smaller dogs and is not cat friendly. He chases towards cats. Indoors you will find him calm and easygoing. Tony would much rather be indoors. He also wants rope or a tug toy to share with other dogs. Although Tony has good house manners most of the time, he knows what "people food" is, and he will surf the counter for it, and he might even jump up to grab something from your hand if he thinks it is food. Because of this, a home with smaller children is not recommended. Tony prefers to sleep in the same room with his people, either in the bed or dog bed in the same place. Tony is well behaved in the car and rides quietly. He loves hanging out and watching you work. He is never very far from you.  Tony is a pleaser. He wants to be your buddy as he wants to watch TV with you, go for a car ride, sit with his head in your lap, and lay at your feet. He doesn't require a lot to be a happy, contented boy. Tony is neutered, up to date on his vaccines, and microchipped. If you are interested in Tony and have already been approved to adopt, please send an email to adopt@wclrr.org and put "TONY" in the subject line explaining why he is an excellent fit for your family. PLEASE READ! WESLEY AND VINCE ARE BEING ADOPTED AS A BONDED PAIR. Please do not ask about adopting them separately. THE DONATION REQUEST OF $1,200 IS FOR THE PAIR.  Meet Vince! He is an eight-year-old low, medium energy Golden Retriever who has the sweetest nature and loves to cuddle with hugs. He has a best friend named Wesley, and you never see one without the other.  Vince gets along very well with small dogs and cats. He sees the cat walking by but never gives him any more than a fleeting glance unless Wesley thinks it's a good idea to check out the cat.  Vince and Wesley do everything together, from playing with toys to chasing balls in the backyard. Vince is the champ when it comes to fetching and much better than Wesley in returning the ball. Vince believes he must practice fetching all day and all night long. He will usually settle down, though, if you "hide" the ball.   Vince eats very well next to Wesley and shows no sign of food or toy guarding. He will sleep through the night with no accidents, but we are still working on house training during the day. Vince has not yet mastered the dog door and has yet to give us the signs if he needs to go outside. He is a smart boy, so we believe he will get it if you are consistent with him for a while.   Vince is excellent on the leash and loves to go on walks with Wesley in the evening. He likes to meander a bit more than Wesley, so you will see Wesley turning around to make sure he's keeping up from time to time. Vince seems to handle the walks and Wesley, who is younger than him, so they both could be great hiking buddies. Vince is up to date on his vaccines, neutered, and microchipped.     Meet Wesley! He is a three-year-old medium energy Golden Retriever who's fun nature will steal your heart. He loves everyone, from children to other dogs. He is good with cats and is learning cats roll in a way different from dogs. Wesley is currently sharing his foster home with small dogs and a cat. You never see him without his best buddy, Vince. They do everything together, from eating to playing and sleeping side by side on their favorite blankets at night.   Wesley enjoys carrying a ball or a stuffy toy in his mouth. If he gets tired of the current toy, he will go over to the toy basket and rummage around until he finds the perfect toy. He also loves to chew on a Nylabone when it's time to chill out in the evening.   Wesley's favorite time of the day is either eating or going for a walk. He is terrific on a leash and has not shown to be reactive to other animals he's run across on his walks.  Wesley eats very well side by side with Vince and does not show any tendency toward food guarding. His new family will need to make sure that leftovers are put away right away, or they may find that Wesley has helped himself to them, his foster family is working on it, and he does take correction well. Wesley is fully house trained and will use the dog door when he needs to go outside. Although Wesley gets along with other dogs, he prefers to spend his time with Vince and will look for him if he is in another room or gets too far ahead of him when we walk. We want to adopt Wesley and Vince to a family and keep them together.   Wesley is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his shots.   If you are interested in Wesley and Vince and are approved to adopt, please send an email to adopt@wclrr.org and put "WESLEY and VINCE" in the subject line explaining why they are an excellent fit for your family.  PLEASE DO NOT USE THE "ADOPT" BUTTON ON THIS PAGE IF YOU HAVE ALREADY SUBMITTED AN APPLICATION WITH WCLRR!
