About Karma

Adoption Fee: $350

Karma is a 6 year old female with a big personality! She is currently living in Florida, but will travel for the perfect home.  She is loyal, attentive, and loves to be next to her owner.  Karma has a great disposition and has been well socialized. She is excellent with people and loves the little girl and male dog that she lives with. This silly girl loves to play and give affection!

Karma was originally rescued from a breeder a couple months ago, but unfortunately the gentlemen who saved her can no longer care for her. We would like to help this beautiful girl find her forever home!

Her ideal home would be with someone who is experienced and can be consistent with her. Like most Dogos, she is protective of her home and people. She listens well, but could benefit from some more training. She does ok with leash walking, likes to hang out in the house on the couches, and really enjoys runs in yard. Karma would do well with a male dog, but is not a fan of other female dogs. Karma would not be a good fit for smaller children because she doesn't understand her size and wants to lay on top of everyone! At night she is happy to sleep in her kennel, or on the couch. She has a medium energy level, and not a high drive.

Karma is ready for her perfect home, and would love for you to apply!

Meet Cinna! He is currently living in Florida and has proven to be a wonderful young male dogo!  Cinna is a quick learner and very eager to please, even though sometimes he has typical dogo stubborness at times. We think Cinna is about 2-3 years old but we do know that he is absolutely STUNNING!   His photos may show some wounds but they are all bacterial infections that are fully healing.  Currently he is 96lbs and has another 10+ lbs to gain to be at a healthy weight for his size.  Every day we see improvements with Cinna and his training to learn all the new boundaries to be a good dogo.  He loves people but be ready because he's a kisser and hugger! We know that he is friendly with other female dogs but haven't had the chance to test with males just yet, but we would prefer a no male dog home for Cinna considering his confidence and size. He recently discoverd that he like to swim in the pond and loves to run around and play chase with other female dogs.  He is a flirt with the girls!  Regading kids and cats, we don't have a way to test so we prefer a home with grown ups and possibly older children. Cinna is textbook dogo when it comes to attitude and demeanor so we recommend him going to an experienced dog home, preferrable one who has dogo or similar experience to keep him on the right track. We don't know how he is in a home and he will most likely need to be house trained, but we do think he will train very well. He is going to make a wonderful companion to whomever is chosen to be his new parent. Cinna is great in the car and clearly enjoys going places and seeing what is going on.  He truly is simply wonderful! Dogos are a wonderful breed but we urge anyone interested to dig in and do a lot of research before deciding if they are a good fit for your home. They require a lot of attention and training with them never ends!  Boundaries must be enforced and they often need reminders as they push past boundaires you set! Dogos are loving, kind and gentle but don't mistake that for weakness because they are equally powerful and intense as well! Everyone in the home must be on board with having a dogo and play a major role in their daily routines and training. Yes it is work, but the rewards are ten-fold! Lazy homes don't work for dogos as they need stimulation, exercise, and lots of attention too during their younger years.  Our goal in rescue is to be as transparent as we can about each and every dog plus make sure new families really understand the needs of a dogo!   show less

Meet Effie!! She is a young female dogo currently in Florida with lots of energy and kisses to give. Effie is about 3-4 years old and appears to have possibly been a mama dog in the past. Mamas always tend to steal our hearts as they are extra loving and nurturing! She is learning commands quickly and eager to please as she is learning new boundaries.  Effie loves to run around in the yard with Prim and we have not introduced her to other dogs just yet. She is a confident girl so a home with a friendly dog would be good for her.  We don't know how she is with kids or cats so we prefer a home with grown ups and possibly older children.  Effie is a really good girl and very textbook female dogo in terms of being loving, happy, strong, and confident!  She does well in the car and was good at the vet too! We do not know if she is house trained but certain that she will learn quick. Effie does very well in a kennel and on a leash from what we have seen so far.  Effie had several skin infections that may be seen in some of her pictures but she is recovering and doing well.  She does have a scar on her head that we are not sure of, possibly an old skin infection that was not treated in time. However, she really is just perfect! Dogos are a wonderful breed but we urge anyone interested to dig in and do a lot of research before deciding if they are a good fit for your home. They require a lot of attention and training with them never ends!  Boundaries must be enforced and they often need reminders as they push past boundaires you set! Update: March 6, 2020 Judy’s foster family says she’s doing absolutely wonderful, considering she’s been in an outdoor kennel for the past year! She hasn’t had one potty accident in the house, nor in her crate during the work days.  She has been receiving a refresher course on her in-home manners/basic obedience. She’s eager to please and very treat oriented! She just wants to be near her human at all times and tends to get alittle mischievous while left alone. She is protective of her space but looks to her human for direction, and follows direction very well! With our observance, we feel that Judy would strive in an only dog home and/or with a chill male! She wants all the loving for herself. This sweet affectionate girl, Judy Blume, is still looking for her new forever home 🥰!   2/15/2020 Judy is (4) yrs old, currently in NC, and is coming to us as a owner surrender. She’s very affectionate, knows her basic commands, and very willing to please!   She has lived the past year in an outside kennel but before that was a inside family girl. That being said, she may need some polishing up on her in-home manners. Although we’ve been told that she is okay with other male dogs, we don’t feel comfortable risking it at this time. We don’t know much about this girl, but eager to learn all there is to know about her! 🙂 At this time... We are looking for a foster with no other dogs (or the ability to keep separate 24/7) and no kids under 10 years old, that will open up their home to this gorgeous girl, and provide some TLC during her spaying and healing process. 🙏🏼 show less

Now located in Houston, TX Lola is a 7 year old spayed female rescued from a shelter in Southern California.  Her owner surrendered her because they were moving out of state and couldn't take her with them.  They reported that Lola enjoyed being outside in their yard, was crate trained at night inside the house, enjoyed baths, and was good with kids.   While at the shelter, Lola won the hearts of all the volunteers and dog walkers! They reported that she is very friendly, affectionate, mellow and well-behaved.  She loves to be cuddled and scratched, and will roll over for belly rubs.  Lola has some basic obedience training, including leash walking, and does well in the car.  She loves walks and playing and has a medium energy level.  We are continuing to learn more about Lola as she is currently in her foster home. She needs training, but is food and treat motivated and willing to learn. She loves all people she meets, but is not too fond of other dogs.  She has never been around cats, but has a strong prey drive, so we think she should be the only pet in the home :)  Lola is a sweetheart that is looking for someone that can give her a lot of love and doesn't mind kisses!  This girl also enjoys posing for photo shoots! She is fantastic in the car and is willing to travel for the perfect home! show less
