About Harpo Barx

Adoption Fee: $400

Introducing Harpo Barx! Harpo is a 2 year old, 15 pound maltipoo. He is a snuggly lapdog but needs help with introductions to new people and vistors to the home. However, he has bitten in the past when people aren't slow and misread his signals. Harpo is a nervous walker and needs someone who will build his leash-skills, but we really recommend a house away from the hustle and bustle of a city, as Harpo really enjoys his peace and quiet. A backyard would make Harpo very happy! Harpo says "No thanks" to kids or other dogs, as he much prefers to be an only child. Harpo doesn’t beg for food but loves his treats and toys! He is house-trained, uses wee pads, and we suggest continuing with crate-training and strict routine. Harpo was recently groomed and allowed the groomer to shave him and clip his nails. He will need routine grooming to keep his coat beautiful. He loves pets and brushing! Harpo sleeps through the night in his crate like a champ. We know the perfect home is out there! Please read his description carefully and apply if all the above rings true to you.

Up to date on rabies, DHPP, bordatella. Heartworm negative and neutered.

Sammy is a beautiful brown tabby who unfortunately has found herself in a sad situation. Her previous owner, a nurse practitioner at New York Presbyterian, passed away in a car accident a few weeks ago on her way to work leaving behind her wife and their twin toddler sons. The family made a difficult decision to move to Chicago to be closer to their extended family but unfortunately was not able to take the cats with them. Sammy’s brother, Brady, already found a home. But Sammy has not. Sammy is a total love–super friendly, and just wants to sit next to you on the couch and get pets. Sammy loves following her foster mom around the apartment, gets along well with dogs, and doesn’t even mind birds! Sammy is around 14 years old, and does have some thyroid issues, but they are well controlled with a daily pill that she eats as a treat. Even though she lived with another cat before, we were told that he often stressed her out so we think Sammy will do best as an only cat. Who wants to give this sweet lady another chance at life?
