About Charlotte

Adoption Fee: $600

Meet Charlotte! She is a Bench Bred English Labrador puppy 12 months old. Charlotte's family had to unexpectedly surrender her to WCLRR due to an unexpected need to move. Charlotte was very loved, but the family knew she deserved more than they could provide.

Charlotte came to the rescue very overweight. Our veterinarian recommended she lose approximately 20 lbs before her spay. She is well on her way to that goal.

Charlotte's new family will need to commit to continuing her weight loss journey by providing a healthy diet and exercise. However, due to the current COVID-19 situation, our veterinarian has suspended doing spays until further notice. Because of this, we are making Charlotte available for adoption now with a spay contract to her new owners.

Charlotte is sweet and warm with a luxurious chocolate brown coat. She girl recently celebrated her first birthday, and although she is still a pup, she has the manners of a Lab many years her senior.

Charlotte is housebroken, competent on the use of the doggie door, and respectful of furniture. Charlotte would love to sleep on your bed if allowed but also is fine on a big doggy bed.

Charlotte is non-destructive, and she only chews on her chew toys, such as Nylabones and Kongs. She is trustworthy when left alone in the house with her two foster Lab sisters. She does not jump and is a well-behaved girl in the house. Charlotte is great around people, dogs, and children, even cats. She does not show any toy or food possession issues.

Charlotte shows her inner puppy when she is outside and loves to chase the ball. She is still working on dropping it, and plays well with all other dogs. She also loves to swim! A home with a pool would be great for her. Charlotte rides perfectly in the car and on the fosters boat. She truly is a water dog!

Charlotte does pull on a leash, so her new family will want to work on leash training and continue with the basic commands, like sit and stay. She is a smart girl and will train quickly.

We believe Charlotte will do best in a home with other dogs and an active family. Charlotte's foster says she is pure joy, full of personality, and has lots of love to share.

Charlotte is up to date on her shots and now ready to meet her new family.

If you have an interest in meeting Charlotte, please complete our application. If you are already approved to adopt, please send an email to adopt@wclrr.org and express your interest in Charlotte.

We expect a tremendous response to her, please remember there is only one Charlotte so there can only be one family lucky enough to adopt her.

Meet Bonnie. She is a 3-4-year-old Labrador Retriever mix. Bonnie is a very timid, shy, and adorable girl. She came to us via the shelter where her previous owner turned her in. Abused, starved, and starting to shut down when we met her. When her foster parents brought her into their home, she spent the first few days trying to hide under any surface that she would fit in. They took her to the vet to be checked out and found out her spay sutures had started to come undone, and an infection had started. The veterinarian fixed the opened area and treated the infection. Within a few days, it was apparent that Bonnie began to feel better.  Bonnie has come a long way during the time she has spent with her foster family. She now plays with her foster siblings and has made herself at home, sitting on the couch and dog beds and even plays with toys. Bonnie gets along great with other dogs and loves to play and run around their yard. She also settles nicely and enjoys spending time in her crate or the room with the family. Bonnie sleeps through the night; she is potty trained and knows how to use a doggy door. She is not food or toy aggressive. Bonnie possibly never took a walk. Her foster family is working with her on this. She is still a little scared when you first put the collar or leash on her, but once the walk begins, she relaxes and walks nicely. She is also learning to ride in the car. She is still afraid of this and will need more work.  Bonnie is currently fostered with four other dogs and is thriving with them. She will need to go to a home that has at least one dog that is willing to play with her. Her new family needs to be patient and continue to work on her trust. Most new things can scare her (like being dried off with a towel), but in time, she comes around.  Bonnie is spayed, up to date on shots, and microchipped. If you believe Bonnie is a good fit for your family, please fill out the application on the WCLRR web site. If you are already approved to adopt, please send an email to adopt@wclrr.org and express your interest in Bonnie. show less

Meet Delany. She is a 4-5-year-old yellow female lab. Delany is loving, kind, and so gentle. Her foster says it looks like when she is happy, she'll squint and smile!  Delany came to WCLRR when a volunteer spotted her at a high kill shelter. Once she was available, WCLRR sent a volunteer to get her out. It looks like Delany possibly had a litter of puppies recently.  Delany loves long walks and meeting people and other dogs along the way. She pulls slightly on a leash but is very eager to learn and, with some training, will be a pro in no time.  We believe Delany would like to be in a home with another canine, but she is so easy going she may also be happy in a home where someone is home most the time. Delany is also delighted to be snuggling on the couch watching TV.   Delany is a great house guest and has learned the routine for going outside and is doing great on her housebreaking. She likes children, dogs; however, we have not been able to "cat test" her.  Delany is not food or toy aggressive.  She loves playing ball and is learning to "drop it" when retrieving! She is eager to please and learn and a happy lab.   Delany is microchipped, up to date on her shots, and spayed.  If you believe this sweet girl is a fit for your home, please complete our application. If you are already approved to adopt, then send an email to adopt@wclrr.org and express your interest in making Delany part of your family. show less

Meet Harley! He's a beautiful English yellow male lab. He has a lovely blond undercoat that is topped by a gorgeous golden to russet topcoat with gentle waves.   Harley is estimated to be about 12 years old, and his quiet, thoughtful, and soulful style is perfect for a mature, peaceful household. But don't let his age fool you. Harley still loves to play with balls, toys, and go for lovely long walks. His favorite thing in the entire world is to sit next to you and have you pet his head and scratch his ears; when you stop, He will gently put his paw on your leg to reminds you to keep going! Harley love to be with you and will follow you around all the time. Harley started his journey with the shelter without tags or a microchip, and no one came looking for him. While he was in the shelter, he had two benign lumps removed. Harley has a few other little lumps and bumps but nothing is requiring attention.   When Harley gets excited or stressed, he does have a habit of dripping urine a bit for a few moments, so it would be important that his new family understand this and should provide a sweet, calm home.  Harley likes to snuggle with you on the couch! Because his coat is so beautiful, he will also need someone willing to him regular brushing to keep his shedding to a minimum and allow his fur to look it's very best – he loves to be brushed! Harley eats well and is the king of using the doggie door, but he also knows how to tell you if he needs to go outside without it. He is not food aggressive or toy aggressive.   Harley loves balls but doesn't fetch much, and he loves a rope toy to be tugged and soft plush toys along with chew toys like Nylabones. Harley sleeps on his dog bed all night and is a good sleeper. He walks well on a leash and does not pull until something catches his attention but is willing to quickly forget it if you call his name and give a slight correction.   Harley is currently fostered with three other dogs and gets along great with them, including one who is very small. Harley isn't crazy about the cat and tries to chase them around the house. His foster parents believe that he is the sweetest and most beautiful dog!  Harley is healthy and has had bloodwork, urine analysis, and complete exam he has been neutered, microchipped with all of his shots up to date.  Harley needs someone to love him for the rest of his life, and he will love them back unconditionally. If you have a friendly, quiet household and want a buddy to be around, then Harley is your man. Meet Peyton, a cute yellow Labrador girl approximately seven years old. Peyton was surrendered at the shelter by her family. This poor girl was so confused and lonely. We have seen her blossom at her foster home. Peyton is the best house guest, according to her foster mom.   Peyton is currently at home with her foster mom and teenage boy; also, she has several dogs big and small and a cat and gets along with all of them. Peyton would love to be in a home with another dog about her size to pal around with that is on the more laid backside. She would also do well with little dogs and even no dogs in the home as long as someone is home a lot with her. Peyton has perfect house manners and is housebroken and knows how to use the doggy door.   Also, Peyton loves walking and is leash trained, making her daily walks enjoyable for foster and herself. Peyton could become someone's errand pal, going on all their adventures, shopping, coffee shops, and maybe a stop to doggy beach or hikes. Peyton rarely barks and is always the first to greet visitors with a wagging tail. She loves to lounge on her fosters couch, especially when her foster mom is watching her favorite tv show and petting her.  Peyton is an easy-going girl and could easily fit in with almost any family.  Peyton is spayed, up to date on her shots, and microchipped.  If you believe she is a good fit for your family, please complete our application on our website. If you are approved to adopt, please send an email to adopt@wclrr.org and express your interest in meeting Peyton.   show less
