About Mama

Adoption Fee: $400

Mama is a 10lb (although she could lose about 2), 2 year old pomeranian mix who just flew in from LA! Inside, Mama loves everyone and anyone (it took a day or two for her to warm up to her foster fur-sister, but now they get along famously)! She loves the crate and happily goes inside for a snooze. Outside, Mama is still getting used to the hustle and bustle of NYC. She is shy when dogs and new people approach, and startles with loud noises, but recovers quickly. She uses pads and does her business outside. This sweet, young girl would make a great addition to any family!

Up-to-date on vaccines (rabies, DHPP, bordatella), recent dental, dewormed, and spayed. Will be chipped soon.

Bow Wow is a 3-year-old, 12-pound male chihuahua/terrier mix. He is part of our hoarder group of dogs from Alabama and while he is still nervous, he is coming along! The foster reports that Bow Wow (nicknamed "Teddy") is a sweet and quiet boy when he is comfortable. He prefers to spend his time in his "safe spots" of either his crate or his cozy corner on the couch. His typical day consists of using a wee pad in the morning, spending his day lounging on the couch and watching his foster siblings, and trying new and yummy treats (he loves yogurt!). He recently began asking for belly rubs and loves head scratches.  He is food motivated, which is important for his continued training. His current foster hand feeds him to build trust. He is easily startled, though, and has nipped when he was accidentally backed into a corner in the bathroom. This is a sweet pup who needs time and patience to blossom, and (along with all the other hoarder dogs we took in from the same group), will settle into a home with a nice and quiet routine. In the evening, he uses his wee pad and settles into his crate overnight without a peep.  If you are looking for a quiet companion to keep you company at home, Bow Wow might be the perfect fit for you. We recommend a home without young children, though, as they have a hard time respecting dog boundaries. Bow Wow seems to enjoy watching his foster siblings but has not yet played with them, so a home with or without dogs should be fine. Vaccinated for rabies, DAPPv, and bordetella. Neutered, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention due 11/6. Jennifer is a 2ish-years, 40ish-pound female shepherd mix. She came to NYC with her newborns who are ready to go to their homes which means mama is also ready for adoption. Jenny is a lovely girl, great on a leash, but needs to get used to potty outside and not on pee pads (meant for her babies). She is great with kids and dogs - but not so much cats and ducks. Jenny has a sweet and gentle temperament - but growls if another pet approaches her bowl while she's eating. This gorgeous girl is fairly quiet, not a huge barker. Jenny has medium energy and loves running around with her humans. Vaccinated for DAPPV, bordatella, and rabies. Microchipped. Needs spay. Sunshine is a 4-year-old, 7.5-pound chihuahua mix. She’s loves attention and her happy place is right by your side. Sunshine had a wonderful first 4 years of her life, living in a quiet rural home with her elderly owner. However, she was tragically left alone in her home for about 6 weeks when her owner passed, and she's learning to trust and open up again. Sunshine needs a quiet home where she’s the main attraction and doesn’t have to share you with other pets (or many other people). She is a little nervous at first but really starts to blossom and shine when she gains confidence and feels secure in her surroundings. She is at her best when she knows her boundaries so she requires some patience and training in the beginning. While she has not bitten, when she is pushed past her comfort zone, she can be snappy, so she needs an understanding owner who has experience and patience. Once she bonds with you she will never be far from your side. Her hobbies include napping, eating snacks, and sitting on your lap for head scratches. We are working on getting her weight down so small meals in the morning and evening are her schedule, as well as low-fat snacks. She gets a treat here and there for good behavior but her absolute favorite reward is a nice scratching or lap time with you. Sunshine, while blossoming in her foster home, has not yet been outside on a leash and uses wee pads like a champ. She is a bit nervous at handling, so we need an understanding adopter who will continue to work on her training.  Vaccinated for rabies and DHPP. Spayed. Needs microchip.  Please contact us DIRECTLY using the instructions below if you are interested in adopting one of our Waggytails!
