About Skyler (Courtesy Listing)

******WCLRR COURTESY LISTING*******

Hi, I'm Skyler! I'm a 5 1/2-year-old Labrador Retriever/American Pit Bull Terrier mix looking for a forever home. My current humans are in a tough situation, and I'm a 65-pound ball of energy that could use a loving family who enjoys going on long walks all around the neighborhood (or even further!). While I'm at home, I love to lie around and get chest and belly rubs from my owner. I always return all of that affection by being your best friend and giving lots of wet kisses!

I'm always excited to see new places and explore new sights and smells, but I especially love to meet new dogs of all sizes. I've lived outdoors all my life, but I can behave indoors too! I'll even let you know when I need to go outside to pee. New people can get me excited, but it won't be long before I'm laying right at their feet-- waiting for some attention, of course. I'd really love to have a family with a big backyard and lots of time to spend with me. I'm healthy, I've got all my shots, and I'm ready to go! I will feel so at ease when I'm finally hanging out with a new family to love, and I know you will love me too :)

Please contact - Winston Chu 626-215-8608

Meet Blake! He is a very handsome two 1/2-year-old male Labrador that is now looking for his future home. Blake is a happy, well-socialized boy that loves people and dogs. We don't believe Blake had toys in his previous home. He is learning to appreciate all the fun things he has available to him in his foster home.  Blake Is learning how to play with the other dogs and is having a blast. He walks well on a leash and enjoys getting out and checking out the neighborhood.  Blake came from a high kill shelter and was underweight. After a visit to our veterinarian, he was given the green light to start looking for his furever family. His new family will want to make sure they provide him with quality food, so in no time, he will be at his optimum weight. Blake would like long walks, running partners, hikes, dog play, and being involved with his new family's daily activities. He wants to please. Blake pays attention to everything around him and wants to be part of a loving family where he is cherished. Blake is very gentle and loves kids and all dogs. He is housebroken, neutered, up to date on his vaccines, and microchipped.  If you have an interest in making Blake part of your family, please complete an adoption application. If you are approved, send an email to adopt@wclrr.org, saying you are expressing your interest in meeting Blake.   show less

MEDICAL HOLD. We are working with our vet to get this kid all better soon. What was perceived as a minor injury needs more attention than first thought. Hopefully, this boy will be ready to go to a family soon. Meet Boone! He is sweet and handsome. Boone is approx eight years old and would love a new home. He came to us dirty and needing a brushing, so his foster took him straight to the groomers for a nice bath and a long brushing. His fur was extremely sunburnt and dull from being kept outside for apparently most of his life. Now Boone's coat is going to shine! Boone loves being with people, and he would love to have a family that includes him in their daily activities. He would like to go on errands and does excellent in the car.  Boone would like a family that would be home most of the time with another canine to be around. But mostly, he loves people. He has not been exercised much in his life. Since being in his foster home, he is active, climbing stairs and taking long daily walks. He loves being out and about!  Boone is not destructive or food or toy possessive and takes treats gently. He has visited our vet and had bloodwork, urine analysis, senior panel, ear cleaning, and overall completed exam.  Boone is ready for his forever home. He is neutered, up to date on his shots and microchipped. If you think Boone could be a good fit for your family, please complete the adoption application on our website. If you are previously approved, send an email to adopt@wclrr.org and express your interest in adding Boone to your family.  show less

Meet Cash! Age is just a number, and like a fine wine, some labs get better with time!!  We think he's about ten to eleven years old, but he can play and interact with his foster family like he's 7! Cash is a sweet, loving, cuddly teddy bear who only aims to please. He is happy to play ball, walk, or lay down with you to watch TV. He is gentle, understands commands, and learns quickly. He is excellent on a leash and in public. He is good with dogs after he has time to get to know them. His foster home has two other labs (ages 7.5 and 2), and he gets along great with both of them.  Cash loves the pool at his foster home, and swimming is an excellent exercise for him. Check out his video posted here.  He is also crate trained and completely housebroken.   Cash is a dream, and it must have been hard for his previous owners to surrender him. However, we are happy he is with us now. Cash has a chance to spend the rest of his life as a wanted and much-loved family member. Are you the fantastic family Cash deserves? If you are looking for the perfect lab that will require no training and a little discipline, he's your boy. He will never disappoint you and will fill your life with joy.  Cash has had a complete physical, and he has some of the typical fatty tumors/cysts that are common in our beloved Labradors. Our vet felt there was nothing that needed attention at this time and decided not to put Cash through any surgeries.  Cash also had a complete blood panel done, and everything checked, however, it was recommended to put him on a low fat, sensitive stomach food for a while to calm down some of the drooling and upset tummies he has. We hope this will help him adjust to all the new things he is having to experience after living in one home for most of his life. Our vet recommended rechecking him in a month or so.  Our vet was very pleased with how good of shape Cash is in and felt that he would make a great addition to a family that loves the seniors and will give him a great home. Cash is current on all his vaccines, microchipped and neutered. He is a boy that will unconditionally love his family, and he deserves only the best!    Please complete our online application. If you are already approved, please send an email to adopt@wclrr.org and express your interest in Cash. SENIORS RULE! show less

Meet Darcy. So many of you have been following Darcy's story and her recovery. We are pleased to say she has been given the green light by our veterinarian to start looking for her forever home. Thank you to all of our incredible donors and her amazing, dedicated foster mom, who helped make Darcy's recovery possible. Darcy is a beautiful petite female Golden Retriever of approximately 9-10 years old. This girl came to us after being dumped in a field w/ sheep and goats: no food, no water, no family. Our volunteer rushed to the shelter after being advised as to Darcy's condition. She was so happy to be saved, wanting to ride in the front seat of her foster mom's car. Darcy's tail thumped all the way happily home, over a 2-hour drive! Darcy's first stop was the groomer for a bath and pampering she deserved and needed. Early the next morning, Darcy saw our vet. She had a severe ear and eye infection plus a skin infection, intestinal infection, decayed teeth, and a mass on her tail in addition to being severely underweight. After completing several rounds of tests, Darcy came home with her foster having seven medications! She needed to be bathed every other day with a medicated shampoo. We had our work cut out for us. Miracles do happen. Darcy made noticeable daily progress. Her eyes improved, her ears cleared. Her coat glowed, and she gained weight steadily. Less than two months later, she was given a clean bill of health and was ready for her needed surgeries to remove the mass from her tail, dental, and her spay. We biopsied the mass, and we are happy to report it was benign. Darcy is well behaved, including meeting her foster family's pets. Large dogs, small dogs, a cat, and turtles. She quickly learned the doggy door and never had an accident in the house. She has no food aggression, sits perfectly for her bowl to be placed down, with the other pets for her three meals per day. She is a "Super Counter Surfer." Nothing is safe within her reach. Her new family will need to be diligent, making sure that counters remain cleared, safe from anything she can get put in her mouth. Gum, candy, medications, need to be put away in a locked cabinet. Darcy walks perfectly on a leash, greeting everyone she meets. True to her breed, she loves to retrieve balls, and will frequently be seen carrying any stuffed toy around with her. She enjoys a comfy dog bed but quickly copied her foster mom's dogs and lounges on a couch or bed. Darcy is spayed, up to date on her vaccines, microchipped, completed blood work done, and dental. She's now ready to meet her new family. This sweet girl will make a great companion for anyone. If you have an interest in making Darcy part of your family, please complete our application. If you are already approved, please send an email to adopt@wclrr.org and express your interest in meeting Darcy! show less

******WCLRR COURTESY LISTING******* Darla is an adult hound/labrador retriever mix, 50-55 lbs. About 3 years old. She was rescued from a shelter, and just after that surprised us by giving birth to 7 puppies! They were born on March 22, and there were 4 girls and 3 boys. *All have now been adopted.  Darla was a great mom to them. All her little pups adored her.  She is non-aggressive and very nice with other dogs but not sure about kitties.   She is loving with her people, and she greets with a happy tail wag and lots of wiggling. However, we've noticed that she is timid of young active kids.  Overall, she is a calm, sweet girl who just needs a little one on one to blossom. Note that she can jump a 6-foot fence. She will need an escape-proof yard, or ideally not to be left by herself outside until she has settled into her new home.  Someone home a lot and/or who can take Darcy along on outings would be a plus.   Please text - Barb Marsh 909-938-0847  PLEASE DO NOT INQUIRE ABOUT DARLA THROUGH THE WCLRR ADOPTION EMAIL OR APPLICATION PROCESS. Meet Jack! He is a fun-loving, male Labrador approx three years old and full of life, love, and good playful energy.  Jack was rescued from a local shelter when his previous owner surrendered him due to his current living conditions. We noticed Jack right away, and immediately our team of volunteers jumped into action to get Jack out of there.  Jack has had some training but will need additional basic and leash training. Once Jack is better on a leash, he will make a great walking, jogging, or running partner. He loves hanging with his foster family and also loves the swimming pool at his foster home.  Jack sleeps through the night and is completely housebroken. He also loves toys! Jack is a pro at playing fetch. He will bring the ball back and drop it at your feet. We suggest his new family purchase a Chuck-It for playtime. He will love it! Jack would love an active family who will spend the time with him and include him in their daily activities. He rides well in the car and would be a great buddy to someone who likes to hike, camp, explore and include him in the family adventures and activities. Jack is neutered, up to date on his vaccines, and microchipped. If you believe Jack would be an excellent addition to your family, please complete our application. If you have already been approved to adopt, please send an email to adopt@wclrr.org, stating you're interested in Jack. show less
