Jax is a 7 month old, 12lb Jack Russel terrier mix. He came from a rural shelter in Alabama and in the few short days in his foster home, he has blossomed into a silly and playful puppy! He loves his foster brother, watching his every move and following him around the house. He needs a patient and understanding owner who will continue to help him gain confidence. While he is quite timid when approached, he will come to you when he feels comfortable (which happened within two days in his current foster home!) As he is young, we are confident that he will flourish. He has not yet been leashed, but uses a wee pad and the outdoor balcony of his foster home. We believe a home with another dog is necessary. Vaccinated for rabies, DA2PP, and bordatella. Neutered and heartworm negative. Needs microchip. Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention due 10/7. Please contact us DIRECTLY using the instructions below if you are interested in adopting one of our Waggytails! Visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. Laffy is a 4-month-old, 5-pound neutered male kitten.  You won’t meet a sweeter kitten than Laffy. He loves being the center of attention! Whether he's playing or snuggling, he’s equally down for either! He loves belly rubs and chasing his laser toy down the hall, then snuggling up in a cozy spot for a nap. He’s just learning to use his voice and will meow when his humans leave the room. A perfect little gentleman, he uses his litter box with no accidents and scratches his post instead of the furniture. Laffy warms up to new people very quickly and would make the perfect addition to any family! Recieved two rounds of FVRCP and rabies. Microchipped and spayed. Third round of FVRCP due 9/29.  Please contact us DIRECTLY using the instructions below if you are interested in adopting one of our Waggytails! Lulu is a 2(ish)-year-old, 11-pounds female dachshund mix from Alabama. Lulu loves to cuddle and play, so doggy toys are a must. She is good on a leash and is an avid explorer when outside! Lulu is friendly and polite with dogs, but sometimes can get a little intimidated by big dogs. Once she warms up, the fun doesn't stop! Loud noises can sometimes scare her, but once she knows her surroundings, she is a confident and happy girl. Lulu is a quicker learner - she is perfecting her potty habits, and knows a few commands. Although she is spirited outside and with other dogs, she is relaxed and low key at home and is medium to low energy indoors. Lulu loves to be with her foster parents, and loves to eat and nap, making her the perfect work from home companion. She can also stay alone for a few hours. Lulu is attentive to humans and loves to be petted and held by her foster parents or strangers. She is crate trained and sleeps easily in her crate through the night. This tiny girl will steal your heart and add the sweet energy to your home that you've been searching for! Vaccinated for rabies, DA2P, lepto, and bordatella. Spayed, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention due 10/1. Tigger is a 5-year, 15-pounds female dachshund mix from Alabama. She is a sweet southern gal ready to start her new life in the big city! Tigger is a delicate soul and looks up at your face with gentle brown eyes. She is a quiet girl who rarely barks and is low to medium (more towards low) energy. She likes to snuggle in for a nap and roll over onto her back asking sweetly for belly rubs. Her belly is the softest thing you will ever feel! Tigger walks beautifully on a leash and enjoys long walks exploring and getting to know her new city. Her goofy side is chasing birds and keeping an eye out for rustling plastic bags while out on walks and that is the only time she will suddenly spring forward! This little gal with white gloves and booties is pint sized perfection!  Tigger is a sensitive girl who would do best in a relaxed and quiet home that can patiently encourage her to gain more confidence with endless love, praise, and positive reinforcement. Though she is polite with other dogs, she would prefer a quiet home with no other dogs or young kids. She is housebroken and crate trained.  Currently, Tigger has some dry skin and a small spot on her back where she lost some fur, likely due to allergies. Her spot is being treated with a soothing skin balm and a supplement of coconut oil has been added to her diet.  Vaccinated for rabies, DA2P, lepto, and bordatella. Neutered, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention due 9/22. Trixie (fka Cha Cha) is 3-months old, 8-pounds female terrier/hound mix. In looks and temperament (and voice), she is more hound than terrier. A sweet and loveable little girl, she is all-around a good pup. With equal parts playful puppy and snuggly sweetheart, Trixie loves her toys and also cuddles. This beauty loves a good tussle with other dogs (as well as humans young and old) but also happily crawls into your lap for a nap. A bit clingy to her human, she can be quite demanding of belly rubs. An important note: She is recovering from a broken paw but is expected to heal fully. As a very young pup, it's hard to know her true personality while she's on medication and in a cast but her foster mom believes Trixie will be an active pup needing exercise and training. Doing very well with pad-training, she's successful 75% of the time. Quite a typical puppy minus her temporary injury! Vaccinated for two rounds of DA2P, lepto, bordatella. Microchipped. Needs rabies vaccine and spay. Third round of DA2P due 9/24.  Please contact us DIRECTLY using the instructions below if you are interested in adopting one of our Waggytails! Zander is 12ish-years, 4-pounds male chihuahua mix. This poor boy was a stray from Alabama now starting his life is NYC. Zander is a sweet but rather scared and scrawny boy that needs some serious TLC from a devoted and dedicated family to allow his senior years to be the best of his life. As a tiny boy, his hobbies are simple: burrowing under covers and/or sleeping in cozy spaces. Zander is easy to please and clear with his preferences - leave him alone with a pile of blankets and loves fatty and meaty treats or food. We are still learning more about his overall health and monitoring closely, so we are hoping for an understanding adopter who has experience with seniors. Seems to be a typical elderly chihuahua in need of a patient and loving home to call his own! Vaccinated for rabies, DHLPP, bordatella. Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention due 10/8. Neutered and heartworm negative. Needs microchip.
