About ATOM ANT (special needs) ME - adoption pending

Adoption Fee: $350

Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait.

Atom Ant
Breed: Pointer/Saluki mix
Age: 1-1/2 years
Wgt/hgt: 44 lbs/ 19-3/4 inches
Gender: M, will remain intact
Relations: Good with dogs/ unknown cats & kids
Activity level: Moderate for cart dog
Highlights: Rear disabled, sweet, good with other dogs
Region: Middle East

I am a very sweet, young boy who was in dire need, as my shelter was closing down. Thankfully, a lovely person in Canada has offered to foster me, so I have been taken in by my rescuer until I can get a flight there.

I was found with all my legs tied up with a rope and run over by a car. I endured hellish pain. Some rescuers stepped in and I underwent severe surgery enduring pain and hardship for several months, but I was still able to recover.

So, I was kept at a place after surgery, but because of improper care, I was hospitalized. I was then taken to my current shelter. It is extremely difficult to find homes for able bodies dogs, let alone one paralyzed. If a place for me had not been found, they feared they would have to euthanize me. Such a shame after so much was done to save me. Now, I have a chance at a new life.

Though alas, I am paralyzed forever and can never play like other dogs... I have so much love to give and cuteness of personality to show you.

You may think it may be sad for me to be disabled, but it is just the way my life is and I enjoy being alive and able to share my love of life with others. LALDR will provide a cart for me once I am in my new home, so I can learn to zip around like Lightning McQueen, Mario Andretti, Speedy Gonzales, Usain Bolt... Hahaa.

I have no issues with other dogs and although I haven't been around cats, it might be hard for me to go after them. I also haven't been around children yet.

If you are up for a loving little buddy to snuggle up with, then you've come to the right bio. Here I am. Up and at 'em, Atom Ant.

Neutering has been deemed unsafe for me by the vet, so I will remain intact. Darn, I still can't do anything, even if I could get to the girls though.

I have not been spayed/neutered, but am *vaccinated & micro-chipped.
My adoption fee is $350.00 CAD + applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada.

Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. Hiya friends, Peachy here! I am a purrdyyy 6 year old lab-saluki mix pooch looking for my furever family. I'm 23 inches tall and weigh about 55 pounds - a perfect size, if I do say so myself!  My mama and her 6 newborn pups (including me!) were found on an abandoned worksite near a mall in Sitra in 2014. For a while, a nice local watchman was feeding us and keeping us safe... but then one weekend the whole site got cleared for construction and we had no safe place anymore. Luckily, my rescuer found us, got us in her car, and tried to get us adopted. Unfortunately, only 2 of my siblings were adopted, so the rest of us remained in a shelter until 2017. Then BARC (Bahrain Animal Rescue Centre) took us in and they have been trying to find us homes ever since! My rescuers don't know why I haven't been adopted yet; you see, I'm quite the catch! I am excellent with doggies and kitty cats (check out my video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpZ3_M6p_VU&feature=youtu.be ) and I LOVE attention from my hoomans! Ear scratches, belly rubs, couch cuddles, walks... you name it, I love it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iO8NHmUJcLE&feature=youtu.be Still not convinced? Check out how I give gentle kisses to people who treat me nice! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3yZTUnEMzY&feature=youtu.be Being a youthful middle-aged pup, I will be a great companion for just about anyone! I am pretty mellow after I've had my daily walk and I would loveeee to curl up beside you for a snooze. Sounds pretty awesome, right?! Pretty please won't you be my FUREVER family? I'd forever repay you with kisses, tail wags, and companionship. I have been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption fee is $500 + applicable taxes, which includes my flight to Canada! Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. Greetings!! My name is Phoenix and I’m a handsome two-year old collie/lab mix pup from Bahrain. I weigh about 45 pounds (a wee bit chunky, hehe) and have striking white markings on my fur. Not to be biased or anything… but I’m pretty darn awesome, and oh-so cute! I was dumped at the gates of the dog shelter when I was just a small puppy. For some reason, my original hoomans didn’t want a cutie patootie like me! Luckily, Bahrain Animal Rescue Centre (BARC) has been taking such good care of me my whole life… but it’s been almost two years now and oh how I long to have a home to call my own. Boy do they ever love me here! I love people and I’m good with kids (check out my belly rub pictures—that’s my hooman friend who is 10 years old… we get along great!). Good news, I get along well with other dogg-o’s too! I haven’t been tested with cats, so I’m not sure how I’d do around the feline-type.  As a young, energetic dude, I’d love to have an active family to call my own and it would be SWEEET if they had a backyard for me to run around in. As you can see, I have a wee bit of a belly… so I’m going to need healthy snacks and daily walks to get me back into shape (my summer bod awaits!). Ahhh I can see it now: days spent sniffing the fresh Canadian grass, feeling the cool breeze through my soft fur, doggy zoomies around my yard, perhaps chasing a ball… OOH add in some belly rubs and yummy treats… WOW, yeah that sounds gooooood! Looking for a four-legged companion? Want lots of doggy kisses and active adventures? Look no further, please adopt me! I promise to repay you with tail wags and unconditional love! I am neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption fee of $550 + applicable taxes includes my airfare to Canada. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. Poneh Breed: English Shepherd Mix Age: 1 yr Gender: Female, spayed Wgt/Hgt: 44 lbs / 22 inches Energy level: Moderate to active Relations: Good with Dogs & Children / Unknown Cats Highlights: Friendly, playful, gentle Region: Middle East I am a wonderfully gentle girl. From pitiful puppy to playful princess: I've come a long way from my troubled start in life, in the Middle East. At only four weeks old, I was tossed out like trash at the local dump where garbage is burned. Luckily, my rescuers found me along with another puppy. We were both in very bad shape, and my friend didn't make it. It was a long journey back to health, but I am a survivor. My rescuers had hoped to keep me, but due to a health crisis in the family, they had to give me up to a shelter. As part of my healing process, I was shaved - but it's grown back in now. I'm a gorgeous girl with a beautiful coat and distinctive markings. Now that I'm healthy, all I want is a home to call my own. Do you have a playful pup at home who would like a friend? I get along with dogs of all sizes. You can see me and my best buddy, Namaste hanging out in one of the photos together. I currently live with ten other dogs! I've impressed my foster family with how gentle I am with children and small dogs. I would love to have a playmate - I love to run and play. My ideal family would take me on long walks, hikes or trips to the dog parks. I wouldn't say no to a backyard to play in either. More than anything, I want to experience being part of a family. I'd love to play, and cuddle, and lounge with my people. It would be amazing to have toys, snacks and a big fluffy bed. I have a fighting spirit and a beautiful temperament. I also have a lot of love to give. If you are ready for this fluffy bundle of joy, just click Adopt, and I'll hop on a plane as soon as I can! I'm quite the waggy tail girl: https://youtu.be/aAMgFbmKfj0.   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. Porsche Breed: Shiba Inu / Husky Age: 2 years Gender: Male, neutered Wgt/Hgt: 30 lbs / tbd inches Energy level: Active, high to moderately high Relations: Good with other Dogs Highlights: Adorable dog seeks hiking, camping and all-round adventuring buddy. Do you hear the mountains calling? Do you yearn for the feel of trails beneath your feet, fresh air in your lungs, and the whisper of trees, meadows and wind in your ears? Me too! I have the perfect name for an active pup. My engines are revving and I'm raring to go out on hikes, walks, rambles and scrambles with you. I was rescued from my previous owner, because they were not able to take proper care of me. I'm an energetic boy, and their solution to my activity levels was to chain me up outside all the time. I even developed an infection on my neck from the tight collar and neglect. You know the song "Try a Little Tenderness?" It's true! Take a dog like me, and give me some good lovin' and magic happens. I started out as a sick, fearful dog, who mistrusts people because I had been beaten and chained. My rescuers saw my potential though and gave me medicine for my skin, and patient, loving care for my spirits. I'm now a very happy, loving boy. I may have a minor touch of arthritis in my right rear leg from an old injury though. https://youtu.be/wcwTHRZnN64. I'm very friendly with people and other dogs. https://youtu.be/FqGGn8FFkAQ, https://youtu.be/_u0e5CThmx0. I haven't been tested with cats or children yet though. Relaxing here, because who wouldn't, it is 107 degrees out: https://youtu.be/be_oOXXiDcE. So what do you think? You know I'm waiting. Just anticipating. Pups don't forget it - Love is our whole happiness. But it's all so easy. All you got to do is try a little tenderness (okay, and also click the Adopt button). https://youtu.be/0abi5ib8av8. I hope to see you soon and have a lifetime of adventures together. I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. This is my big chance to get your attention and I don't want to blow it.  I'm giving you my best 'please-love-me' look and just hoping you'll see that I could be your special girl. I am a two year old, 42lb, 26 inch tall, Pointer mix from Bahrain and I am so ready to share my life with you. My two siblings and I were found in the scorching hot sun in the middle of a field when we were just tiny puppies, about a week old. Our mom was nowhere to be found and we were starving and dehydrated. Luckily our cries drew the attention of some people who brought us home. We were hand reared by our rescuers and have lived in the spare room and garden of their home ever since.  I know this is not the same as actually living in the house where the family pet lives; we don't get nearly as much time and attention from the people who live here; but it's better than living on the streets like many dogs do. But, oh how I long to be able to sit beside my person while they watch t.v, or curl up in my bed while you sleep beside me in yours. And what a dream it would be to go for regular walks and explore the neighbourhood together. That's the kind of life I hope to have one day, if I'm lucky. My rescuers have been spending time teaching me important skills to help make me adoptable. Like how to walk nicely on leash, how to respond to commands like 'sit', 'down', 'paw'.  They have also taught me to be comfortable in a crate.  I'm the kind of dog who gets very attached to the people I spend time with. Despite being a little too big for it, I like to climb onto my carer's lap if she'll let me. I'm really a bit of a softie, I admit it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mzz77Cv4yUQ&feature=youtu.be When it comes to meeting other dogs I tend to be on the timid side, though in preparation for my future life my guardians are starting to take me on more pack walks and introducing me to new dogs.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5NRcCGNwO0&feature=youtu.be My future home should be one where I am the only dog because, despite my generally timid nature with dogs outside the home, I can get possessive of my food and space. To tell the truth it would be heavenly for me to have human companions who will finally give me the love and attention I long for, and I really don't want to share that with another dog. (Or cat, for that matter.) I am not a high energy dog but I do love going for walks. And if you happen to live near water or have a play-pool in the yard, I'd love to cool off with a splash around in it. When I first arrive in your world I'm likely to be a little nervous. Everything will be so different. I tend to look for comfort from my human guardians so I do hope you won't mind if I squeeze myself up onto your lap for a cuddle. Please let me be your special girl. I just know you're out there somewhere waiting to find me.    I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 + applicable taxes includes my airfare to Canada. Due to current travel restrictions related to Covid19 there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are prepared to wait.   Hello from Shanghai!  I am Puffin, a one year old Spaniel/mini-Australian-Shepherd mix found abandoned on the city streets. I'm 18lb and 16 inches tall. Since being brought to the shelter I have had to learn to live with a lot of other dogs. There are all kinds here; every shape and size imaginable. It's noisy and crowded and some dogs find it very intimidating, but I seem to be able to take it all in my stride. I guess that means I'm fairly confident.  I'm sure it will still be a big adjustment when I come to live with you, but I have a feeling I'm really going to enjoy getting lots of attention. It feels pretty good when one of the staff here has a spare moment to give me a little scratch under my chin, or a quick cuddle.  Any chance you might be interested in doing that on a fairly regular basis, do you think? The other day they took me in a room to meet something called a cat. I was hoping she would be more interesting than she proved to be. It seems to me cats are pretty dull so I really wouldn't care one way or another if I end up living with one. Once you've reminded me what it's like to go for walks on a leash (I haven't done that since arriving at the shelter), I think I'm really going to enjoy exploring the neighbourhood with you. I'm quite a curious dog and I take a lot of  pleasure in sniffing out information about my surroundings. You'll probably find I'm the perfect size for taking everywhere. I hope so, because I have a feeling we're going to become very attached to one another.  I'll be here, just waiting for the day I get on the plane to come and live with you.   I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 + applicable taxes includes my airfare to Canada Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website,  http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/  and to read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.    Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. Savanna Breed: Shepard mix Age: 3 yrs Gender: Fe, spayed Wgt/Hgt 26 lbs / 25-1/2 inches Activity level: Average, moderate Relations: good with dogs, kids (per policy)/ likely ok with cats (rather afraid of them) Highlights: Good with kids, escape artist, shy Region: Middle East My mom and I were found outside a major city here in my country. It took a few hours to capture us as street dogs are treated horribly by so many that we learn out of necessity to escape from humans. We did not realize these people were there to help, but thankful they persisted and were able to take us in. We were in a bad way, undernourished and stressed. I had distemper and was very weak but with care survived. My mom sadly died of kidney failure. My mange was so severe the doctor wasn’t sure if I would ever get over it, ( my picture shows how bad of shape I was in ) but 9 months and lots of specialty care my skin cleared up and now I have such a beautiful full coat of fur.  Due to these tribulations in life and being so undernourished early I have not grown as large as many others of my breed. I am now the perfect couch companion size for a lucky patient family. My jaw is a bit crooked (someone beat me when I was on the streets and broke it ) but it functions normally so please don’t worry about that. https://youtu.be/KS5Kne2Oz2Q. I can eat fine too, no pain problems. I am still very scared though and will need a lot of understanding and space til I feel safe, but when I do I am the most gentle wonderful girl, never ever aggressive.  https://youtu.be/hTEKvXBpRR4. I get along great with other dogs and children ... cats are okay too even though they do scare me a bit.  I have not had much opportunity to learn how to walk nicely on a leash and I’m hoping you can spend the time to teach me and then we can go on leisurely adventures together. https://youtu.be/vKidOE8GqkA. I have been here at the shelter since my rescue and with all these dogs I feel overwhelmed and am very shy. I would love to come to Canada and learn what having my own family is all about and to develop the confidence a loving home would give me.   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. Due to current travel restrictions related to Covid19 there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are prepared to wait.   Hi, are you out there? It's a little hard to tell from under all this hair, but hello anyway. My name is Shaggy - I bet you're wondering why !  I'm only 6 months old, 14lb and 14 inches tall and I'm probably a mix of Maltese and Tibetan Spaniel, judging by my mom's looks (she's the spaniel part).  Mom and I were found on the streets of Shanghai city; not a good place to be, believe me!  We were supposed to go to the shelter, but right now they are doing some construction there to try to make more space for hundreds of dogs, so instead we were brought to the manager's house. You'd think this was the shelter if you didn't know better - there has to be about 15 dogs here! Even though I like being around other dogs, I much prefer living with 15 than with 300, especially when one of them is my mom. You can see my mom in this video - she's the pretty little black dog under the chair. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnT4eZd3U7o&feature=youtu.be There's really not a whole lot I can tell you about myself because I haven't been in the world very long, but I'm a happy little fella and I think I'd make a great family pet.  I'm hoping that you will be the human who gives me a home and teaches me about life.  I've heard that people in Canada and America like shaggy little dogs like me. I really hope that's true.  Guess I'll have to wait and see if you apply to adopt me.   I am neutered, vaccintated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $600 + applicable taxes includes my airfare to Canada. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. SHMOO (Shrewd) Breed: Golden Retriever/Germ Shep Age: 4 years Gender: Fe, spayed Wgt/Hgt: 52 lbs / TBA inches Relations: scared of big dogs, others ok/ unknown cats & kids Energy level: moderate/average Highlights: kind natured, sweet, quiet Region: Middle East Nope, I’m not related to the cartoon, but I’m super cute anyway! I’m Shmoo. I’m a sweet girl, who’s been through a lot, and still managed to keep my kind spirit unbroken. My life didn’t start off right. When my rescuer found me, I was almost gone, since I had been severely abused and beaten. But there was still hope, so they chose to fight with me. After 43 days in the hospital under serious medical care (yes, it was touch and go there for a while), I finally won the hardest battle of my life, and I earned a warrior's title. My rescuer says I’m the perfect example of strength, courage and determination, because I never gave up on myself. And with their help, I survived all the bad things that had happened to me. And look how beautiful I turned out to be! #spiceycolor. It was exhausting though, so now I’m looking for a home where I know I’m safe to spend my days relaxing, having fun and learning how amazing affection, closeness and attention can be. I know I can win your heart over too, I just need a chance. I’m eager to show you how bright my kind nature can shine in the right place with the right people, who are willing to keep fighting with me, but this time for a life full of happiness and love. At the moment, I tend to be timid/skittish, but can you blame me? It was a rough time. I think the one who hurt me was a man, because I feel scared around them, and I am careful about women too. You know, I can be a little too cautious. But I’m sure all it takes is someone willing to show me there are good things in the world. I am a smart girl too, so it shouldn't take long with a bit of patience to teach me how great things can be. Fun walks, treats, toys, belly scratches…. love. Right now, I live in a shelter, but it’s been hard for me since I’m scared of other big dogs. So I really need to find a home to be more at ease. A moderate activity level, but calmer environment would suit me. I’m quite calm myself. Kids and cats are not ones I have been around, so I can’t tell if I’d like them. Better not having young, fast moving kids around yet though.  Given the circumstances, I am not yet housetrained, but should pick that up quick. I’m quite smart and I know how to overcome a challenge. Also, I'm betting once I learn to trust you, snuggling will be a great pleasure. Love conquers all. I look forward to starting a new life in Canada and will be sure to bring lots of love and fun to my new home. C’mon, choose me. I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. My adoption fee is $500.00 CAD + applicable taxes, this includes my airfare to Canada. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. Shugar (Sugar) Breed: Anatolian Shepard Age: 11 months Gender: fe, will be spayed soon. Wgt/Hgt: 46 lbs / 26 inches Energy level: moderate Relations: good dogs, cats, kids Highlights: friendly, bit of separation anxiety, tripaw, likes playing Region: Middle East As a baby of only 1 month old, my rescuer found me alone on a street in the Middle East. I had part of a leg missing. My rescuer rushed me to the vet office where he told her it was not a congenital defect, but that my lower leg had been cut off by someone. So, my rescuer took care of me for a couple months and now is paying for me to be in boarding, while I await my forever home. Sure hope it happens fast. I am so excited to get to Canada. I am gentle with everyone, cats (what are these meowy things anyway), kids, hey bring on the grandma. I love everyone. https://youtu.be/najA6cL_ZGU. I am great with other dogs too https://youtu.be/gaxu9h0Hz8U. Playing and eating are favorites of mine. Food motivated makes training much easier. I haven't lived in a home yet, so am not yet house trained, but that is quick to learn for my smart breed. One thing I don't like, is to be left alone. I will bark for a few minutes after you leave, but will then quiet down and stop. I really just want to be with you giving lovings and getting scratches and playing and cuddling and getting treats and... well, just being your buddy. I bet we could take some neat excursions walking around sniffing things. Ok, I'll sniff, you watch. Oh, the 3 legged thing, I'm used to it now. I get around fine right now, but I will need to use some ankle support (especially while I am still growing), so my ankle can grow strong & won't break down carrying my weight. My rescuers are providing me some special supplements to help too. Maybe you can get me a prosthesis. There's still enough leg there to do so. Then watch out, I'll be running like the wind. Won't you bring me into your heart & home?   I will be spayed/neutered soon. I am *vaccinated & micro-chipped. My adoption fee is $550.00 CAD + applicable taxes, this includes my airfare to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Name: Sparx (Shanty) Breed(s): Shih Tzu mix Age: 2 years Gender: M, neutered Wgt/Hgt: 13 lbs / 14 inches Relations: good with dogs / good with kids?, awaiting vids / unknown with cats Activity level: average Highlights: sweet, playful, nice, friendly Look at this moustache! Quite nice, huh? Well, it’s not just the ‘stache, I’m a pretty nice guy myself; just like my name, I’m full of light and sweetness. Here in the Middle East, there are a lot of nice yet busy people who travel a lot, and I used to live with one of them. We didn’t spend so much time together for that reason, but when we did, I would make sure my guy was full of love. You could say there were sparks of love all around every time. However, like I said, he was very busy, so he would go on business trips often and I had to stay with other people (usually nice ones) while he was out.  It did help, because I learned how to be with a bunch of different people, so now I have fun with whoever is around, including other nice dogs - https://youtu.be/p4Q31UE9tb4 and kids of all sizes and ages (vids coming.) I haven’t met any cats yet though, so I don’t know how they’d take my sparkling personality, nor if I would like them. Sadly, not everyone is that nice. There was this one time when I was left under my guy’s friend care and he didn’t do a very good job. I still don’t understand why, but the “friend” kicked me really hard on the back, and I ended up not being able to walk. When my guy came back from his trip, he was shocked and worried, so of course, he got me checked by the vet who said I needed a surgery. I’m a brave boy! I mean you don’t get a moustache like this by being a scaredy cat, do you? So I underwent the procedure and now I’m alright again. I can walk and run and play and be nice… I’m back on my game! I do have something of a wobble when I’m all into the walking, playing or running, but c’mon, that's nothing to scare someone like you, right? Weebles wobble, but they don't fall down. LOL. After that ugly moment, my guy decided to do the responsible thing for my sake. He took me to a shelter, and asked for the nice team there to find me a new forever home (outside the Middle East), where I could live surrounded by nice people who would experience, first row, the fireworks I light off every time my ‘stache and I enter the room. Just adopt me and you’ll see what I’m talking about! You won’t regret taking me home for good; I’m the perfect match for Canadian style. And choosing me means you’ll never spend a day in the dark again for I’ll always be there to light your way with sparks of love and sweetness and just overall niceness. I look forward to starting a new life over there and will be sure to bring lots of love and fun to my new nice home, so will I be seeing you soon, right?   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. SPROCKET (Shadow) German Shepard/Spitz (Eurasier) Age: 11 month Gender: Male, neutered Wgt/Hgt: 53 lbs / just under 30 inches Activity level: med to med high Relations: good with dogs & kids / unknown cats Highlights: Friendly, tripaw, playful Region: Middle East Tripaw or not, I still like to play. Hahaaa, full play mode... can't touch dis: https://youtu.be/Caa47cVo710. You'll find me quite the friendly fellow. When I was about a month old, my rescuer found me near a major city in the Middle East with injuries, especially to my leg. I stayed for 2 months under special care, but the nerves in my leg never recovered. The vet decided I would be better off not dealing with further problems, so he amputated my leg. Don't worry, I know how to get around just fine. My handicap doesn't stop me from having fun. I have been with my rescuer for 8 months now. I am so ready to find my always & forever home. You can see by the photos, I like kids just fine. Never had the opportunity to interact with kitties though. People are great though. Hoping we can find lots of fun things to do together. My personality will wow ya. I am a gentleman!  Hope to be coming your way soon.   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.
