About ATOM ANT (special needs) ME - adoption pending

Adoption Fee: $350

Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait.

Atom Ant
Breed: Pointer/Saluki mix
Age: 1-1/2 years
Wgt/hgt: 44 lbs/ 19-3/4 inches
Gender: M, will remain intact
Relations: Good with dogs/ unknown cats & kids
Activity level: Moderate for cart dog
Highlights: Rear disabled, sweet, good with other dogs
Region: Middle East

I am a very sweet, young boy who was in dire need, as my shelter was closing down. Thankfully, a lovely person in Canada has offered to foster me, so I have been taken in by my rescuer until I can get a flight there.

I was found with all my legs tied up with a rope and run over by a car. I endured hellish pain. Some rescuers stepped in and I underwent severe surgery enduring pain and hardship for several months, but I was still able to recover.

So, I was kept at a place after surgery, but because of improper care, I was hospitalized. I was then taken to my current shelter. It is extremely difficult to find homes for able bodies dogs, let alone one paralyzed. If a place for me had not been found, they feared they would have to euthanize me. Such a shame after so much was done to save me. Now, I have a chance at a new life.

Though alas, I am paralyzed forever and can never play like other dogs... I have so much love to give and cuteness of personality to show you.

You may think it may be sad for me to be disabled, but it is just the way my life is and I enjoy being alive and able to share my love of life with others. LALDR will provide a cart for me once I am in my new home, so I can learn to zip around like Lightning McQueen, Mario Andretti, Speedy Gonzales, Usain Bolt... Hahaa.

I have no issues with other dogs and although I haven't been around cats, it might be hard for me to go after them. I also haven't been around children yet.

If you are up for a loving little buddy to snuggle up with, then you've come to the right bio. Here I am. Up and at 'em, Atom Ant.

Neutering has been deemed unsafe for me by the vet, so I will remain intact. Darn, I still can't do anything, even if I could get to the girls though.

I have not been spayed/neutered, but am *vaccinated & micro-chipped.
My adoption fee is $350.00 CAD + applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada.

Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. Hello world! My name is Mackie and I am a charming 2 year old saluki/golden retriever mixed pup from Bahrain. I am 50 pounds of pure handsomeness and stand about 23 inches tall. Check out my adorable nose freckles and soft, furry ears. Aren’t I SO darn cute? I was found wandering the streets of Bahrain with my bro, Brownie. A kind American man noticed us and brought us to the Shelter where we could be cared for and kept safe from the dangers of the city streets. We have been at the BARC Shelter ever since, and even though they take great care of us, we both long to have a home of our own. I’m really good with other dogg-o's (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsTC1dttIFk) and I LOVE to be loved by my humans (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9mBo6mRkB0&feature=youtu.be). They seem to love me too, I mean, look how gentle and cute I am!! How could they not love me?! I’m a pretty good boy on the leash albeit a wee bit distracted by yummy smells and things that move, hehehe (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqZHGgM8y4k&feature=youtu.be). My rescuers say that I am SUPER sweet. Look at my picture of me being super smart doing my “shake-a-paw". Are ya sold on me yet? I’m basically the full meal deal; young, adorable, smart, and gentle! What more can you want in an furry, four-legged companion? I am neutered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped. My adoption fee of $550 + applicable taxes includes my airfare to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website,  http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/  and to read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.    Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. Due to current travel restrictions related to Covid19 there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are prepared to wait.   Hello, it's Maggie, ready and waiting to come and live with you forever. Pleeeease make it so! I was found with my puppy, living on the streets of Shanghai and we were both brought to the shelter. Because it was already so crowded there, the shelter manager ended up bringing us both back to her house to be fostered. We're very lucky because there are only about 15 dogs here, whereas back at the shelter there are over 300! They guess my age to be somewhere around a year and a half to two years, I weigh 20lb and I'm a fairly short little dog at just 14 inches tall. I look like I might have some Tibetan spaniel in my genetic make up.  I'm a fairly easy-going dog who can be quite content doing nothing much. Every once in a while I enjoy the chance to chase away the odd stray cat that dares to visit the courtyard, but the rest of my days are spent checking out the house and yard, napping in a corner or schmoozing with the other dogs who live here.  Mind you, once I have my own family I'm sure there will be other interesting things to do. Going for daily walks for one thing. Maybe even snuggling with my people. Those are things I don't get the chance to do around here and they sound awfully nice to me. I have a feeling you could change my whole life if you decide that I'm the one. Here's hoping........   I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 + applicable taxes includes my airfare to Canada. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. Marble (Maya) Breed: Shepard mix Age: 3 yrs Gender: Fe, spayed Weight/Height: 66 lbs/ 27-1/2 inches Activity level: Low to Moderate Relations: good with dogs / no cats / kids unknown, but likely fine Highlights: kind, loves all people, tripaw Region: Middle East Greetings. I am a very sweet, not so commonly seen brindle Shepard mix. Don't you just love my coat color? I was rescued from a government truck in the Middle East that was taking me to be killed by acid injection, a severely painful way to die. I get along with every human I see. I am fine with other dogs too. I really don't like those meowy things though and get kind of mean with them. Never been around children yet. But, as I seem to love every person I see, if the kids gave me attention, I'd probably be happy with them too. Just understand, I haven't been tested around them.  The rescuer is having me re-evaluated at the vet to see if they should amputate further up my leg, as I dip down bending my other leg a lot wanting to use the short leg https://youtu.be/WcJ-t3Koot4. A prosthesis might be of great benefit helping me though, if I could keep the leg.  Since I am past puppy stage, probably a mellow home that is low to moderately low in activity would suit me. I enjoy just hanging out, getting loved on and smelling the roses while out on walks, so to speak. I sure hope I can get to Canada or the US soon. A shelter is no place for a lovely girl like me. Are you ready for compliments galore from people who see my gorgeous beauty? That's probably what you are going to hear. A recent video, it is really hit here right now: https://youtu.be/acMa0uPejW0.   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. Then, I'm your gal. My coat is a beautiful marmalade color and I am sweet as marmalade too. I was found badly injured by a road in the Middle East. My leg had been broken and healed improperly, so I needed that leg amputated. I am now part of that elite group of the dog tag carrying tripaw club. Don't let it worry you too much, I have learned to get around despite my handicap. I am super kind and I like other dogs and people too. I am quite polite with kids, though I don't have a video to prove it. I've not been around those purrball machines, so not sure what my reactions to them would be. If I had a home where I could hang with humans all day long, I would be in doggie heaven. I like to play like any pup, but it is nice to just chill at times too. I listen well to what you tell me... well, I am going to need to learn English to understand what you are wanting from me first. You wouldn't happen to be bilingual, would you? No matter, I am smart enough to learn commands in another language, if you will have patience and give me the time to settle and figure it out. I hear Canada has some superb beaches and trails and even something called a dog park. A park for us dogs? Whoa! Pretty amazing. Nothing even close to that here. Can't wait to run around one of those. All you gotta do is submit an application and I could be on my way to stick myself to your heart. Get it? Marmalade, sticky jelly like substance... aaah, you are giggling, aren't you? Like a bowl of hahaaa, yup you got it. I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. Hi, sweet humans! I’m Milli and I’m searching for a forever home. Who am I? Well, I’m an adorable 3 year old mixed-lab pooch from Bahrain. I weigh a petite 44 pounds and stand 23 inches tall. My rescuers say that I am lovely and gentle. Bonus: I’m dog and cat friendly! Yup, you heard me correctly… bring on the furry friends! My story is a bit unknown. All my rescuers know is that I was a stray on the streets of Bahrain. They took me in when I was just a little pup and thank goodness they did! They have kept me safe and sound at the shelter ever since. It has been a few years now though and I reallyyyyy wish I had a home and a human to call my own. Check out my videos of me being friendly with kitty cats (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzmMAvbhKl4&feature=youtu.be). Yup, I’m cool as a cucumber around cats! You can see that I wag my tail around both dogs and cats (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYthIMXGXtI&feature=youtu.be). See? I’m a good girl and super friendly. What I REALLY love is humans though. Give me a nice ear scratch and a belly rub and I will literally become your BFF (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8L11DKRZF00&feature=youtu.be). Ooooh I'm also pretty darn good on a leash (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5cojkIcFi0&feature=youtu.be), okay... maybe I still have a bit of room for improvement (he he he). If you’re looking for a four-legged companion to love you endlessly, look no further! I am a moderately active, chill doggy who has a LOT of love to give (and deserves even more love in return!)  I am spayed, vaccinated, and micro-chipped. Due to current travel restrictions related to Covid19 there may be a delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are prepared to wait.   Three times unlucky, that's me. Three times I found an adopter over there in Canada and each time it has fallen through. Why, oh why can't I find someone to bring me home? I get that I don't have the appeal of a puppy or the looks of a Golden Retriever, but I have a ton of love in this compact little body of mine, and more personality than you could shake a stick at (hey, don't just shake that stick, let's play tug-o-war with it).  My name is Moe, I am around 3 years of age and resemble a jack russel/beagle mix. I weigh 26lb and am 16 inches to my shoulders. My previous owners tossed me out on the streets when they grew tired of me. I know - awful isn't it, but it happens all the time around here. Since then I've been living in this very crowded shelter in Shanghai and I have to admit, much as I enjoy the company of other dogs, this is ridiculous! There are just too many of us here and we all agree we could use a lot less doggyness and a lot more people-time.  All I need is one special person to really 'see' me. I know you're out there.  Check out my 'standing upright' move and maybe you'll realise I am the kind of dog who would be willing to master any trick you care to teach me, as long as it gets your attention and pleases you.   Human affection is something I can never get enough of:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MU6SXCMLjg&feature=youtu.be I dream of trotting happily alongside you on our daily walks; snoozing with my head on your lap as you watch t.v., comforting you with my steadfast love.  If you adopt me I promise I will never be cross with you or ignore you or take you for granted. You can do all those things to me, but I will love you to the end of my days. Because that's what dogs do.  Please make me yours and let me love you for ever.     I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $500 CAD + applicable taxes includes my airfare to Canada.   **Vaccinations: Dogs from China are vaccinated for rabies, distemper, parainfluenza, hepatitis, parvovirus. Due to current travel restrictions related to Covid19 there may be a delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are prepared to wait.   Helloooooo, anybody out there? Are you looking for me? Tell me you've been waiting for a sweet 2-year-old, 13lb combo of Maltese and Yorkie (that's a Morkie, don't you know) who goes by the name of Mona.  I am very glad you found me.  It's getting awfully old being at this crowded shelter here in Shanghai and I'd really like to get on with my proper life; the one where you and I get to spend tons of time together and I get lots of cuddles.  When the city workers found me outside on the streets I was cold and hungry. Even though it's a terrifying experience to be scooped up and whisked off to an unknown destination, it was better than being left to starve.  Now that I'm living at the shelter I have regular meals and a roof over my head, but I really don't get much human attention. It was quite a treat to get some cuddles by the shelter manager when they made my video. I would thrive in a home where I could have that kind of affection every day.  The other dogs around here are cool; some of the smaller ones have become my buddies; but to tell the truth, it's a bit too crowded and I'm more than ready to move on.  I got to enjoy a rare bit of peace and quiet when they brought me to the laundry room to take a video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HP_T9ADWHSU&feature=youtu.be Then they put a cat in here with me. I didn't mind that at all: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfC87H4e548&feature=youtu.be You know, it wouldn't take much on your part to change my life forever. Just fill out that adoption form then sit tight until this darn virus thing is under control. Once we're together we can put all this behind us and just focus on getting to know each other.  Doesn't that sound good?   I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 + applicable taxes includes my airfare to Canada. Hiya! I’m Myla, a beautiful Saluki Mix pup from Bahrain. I am two years old, weigh 55 pounds, and stand about 65cm tall. Aren’t I purdyyy? My rescuers describe me as a sweet and energetic dog who enjoys walks and cuddles – oh how I LOVES the cuddles! I am gentle with everyone I meet; hoomans, doggos, and kitty cats. Well, I may not be super excited about kitty cats, but as you can see from my video… I don’t seem remotely bothered by their presence.  What’s my story? I was rescued as a puppy (along with my mama and my three siblings) and have been living with my dog fam ever since. My mama (Sophia) was recently adopted and even though I’ll miss her soooo much, I’m so happy that she has a loving home to go to. I have doggy dreams of being adopted myself! Would you please consider giving me a furever home?  I LOVE my people and will always be more than happy to come to you for affection, food, or fun!   Being a young dog, I love to exercise! Perhaps we could check out some dog parks or some of the hiking trails I’ve heard so much about? I’m pretty chill once I’ve had my daily walk... maybe I could have a big comfy bed to cuddle up on while I nap?  My sweet face and loving nature makes me an ideal pupcake for any family or single person. Pleaseeeee give me a home!! I have been spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated. My adoption fee is $550.00 CAD + applicable taxes, this includes my airfare to Canada. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. Namaste (Negar) Breed(s): Hound/Blue Heeler Age: 1-1/2 yrs Gender: Fe, spayed Wgt/Hgt: 44 lbs / 21-3/4 in Relations: Good with dogs & kids / cats unknown Activity level: moderately active to active Highlights: Tripaw, very gentle demeanor, loves running, quick learner, polite Region: Middle East Namaste is a word you might’ve probably heard more than once, and it happens to be my name too. Isn’t it cool? It is a respectful greeting and I am a girl who shows respect. It’s really nice to know that I’m named after such a positive word, because that’s how I want my life to be from now on: full of positivity and love and just overall happiness. Sadly, the first part of my story wasn’t like that at all. I was found by the forest services the day after the Persian New Year, can you believe it? But well, in the Middle East, it’s not unusual to find cases like mine at any time of the year.    When my rescuer got the call that I was severely injured, she came to see me right away. My foot had been chopped off, so I was in a lot of pain and didn’t want to see anyone. However, there was something special about my rescuer, so I let her pick me up to take me to the vet. The vet couldn’t save my front leg. The infection was spreading fast to my upper body, so I needed to have my leg removed asap. Apparently, someone had hurt me with an axe days before I was rescued, so I lost a lot of blood and was really weak.  The recovery process was long; it took months after the surgery for me to come back to life, but with love, I managed to be fine again. That’s how I became the beautiful tripawd you see on the pictures. Now, I’m completely healthy and I have a very sweet and gentle personality even after everything I went through. I get along with other dogs (even the small ones), and I do like people. My rescuer says I’m mild mannered, so it’s really easy to be around me. What’s not easy, though, is that there’s not much space for me to run around the house. I’m a very energetic girl, and I love exercising. So it’s been complicated for me to get the physical activity I need (my missing leg isn’t a problem, you’ll see).  I love playing with the other dogs in the house (especially my best bud, Poneh, laying in photo with me) and running is my favorite sport. I’m the fastest around! But since it’s not allowed for people to walk their dogs outside in my rescuer’s country, I don’t get to do it often enough. And things don’t seem to be getting better any time soon here. Unfortunately, my rescuer’s husband just had a heart attack. Such a nice guy! So the family is moving closer to the hospital to an even smaller place.  They can’t have me with them anymore, despite them loving me as much as they do. We’re in an emergency state right now, because I’m being moved to a shelter as you read. I really don’t want to stay there for long, I’m a family girl. That’s why I’m here, trying to find a forever home in Canada. I’d love to live with a family that has kids who could play with me and if there’s a fenced yard to run around or someone who could take me out to exercise, I couldn’t be luckier. Also, I’m a very smart girl. I learn things with little effort, so I’m sure we can spend a great time playing, running and learning together. I know I can bring lots of love and happiness to my new home, so go click the “adopt” button. You won’t regret it. I’m not only pretty, but also smart and gentle. I know I can be a great companion. Namaste!   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. NESTLE (Nora) Breed: East European Shepard mix Age: 2 years Gender: Fe, spayed Wgt/Hgt: 62 lbs / 29.5 inches Activity level: easy to moderate Relations: good with dogs/ unknown cats & kids (per policy), though quite gentle natured so maybe Highlights: house trained, friendly but bit timid at first, well behaved, foot damaged, loves tummy rubs Region: West Bank Those who run the shelter allow me to freely roam around the shelter, because I am so well-behaved. Yup that's me, a good girl - sweet like chocolate... Nestle's chocolate and I'm sure you know how good that is. Life didn't start out well for us here in the West Bank, but things are really starting to look up now that I am getting a chance to find a home. My bro and me were dumped in a cardboard box near the shelter as puppies. I have a little trouble with my paw, as a car ran over it when I was little. The vet said bones were smashed in some toes when he saw the x-rays. I can walk though and get around okay walking and when moving quicker hopping on 3 legs. Perhaps a soft bootie will help more. My rescuer is checking what else to do about that foot. Though I am uncertain about walking on a leash on the tile, you can see I can put pressure on my foot ok. https://youtu.be/1IQxr6gkEAY. Though I can be a bit timid at first meeting, if you just have a bit of patience with me, I will warm up to you and get friendly. Once introduced and comfortable though, I am friendly with anyone. It is just first time nervousness, given time and slow intro, I fare better. Oh, I am also house trained already, big plus. I really love people, once over my trepidation. I certainly like other dogs too. I have not yet been around the feline persuasion however, so unknown what my reactions may be to one. Nor have I had the chance to make acquaintance with kids. Ideally upwards of an easy going to moderately active home would suit me. Whether with a family or person wanting a buddy to hang with, I would be happy with either. I just think it will feel so great to have grass under my feet and a loving tummy rub. Canada sounds wonderful. Hoping you can bring me into your home soon. My wait has been so long. I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. My adoption fee is $500.00 CAD + applicable taxes, this includes my airfare to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. PANCHA - Courtesy Post - pending adoption

Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. This is NOT a dog belonging to LALDR. This is a courtesy posting. Please do not contact us, as we know nothing about the dog. For more information, please contact ayaladia@ualberta.ca Pancha is a sweet, loving girl rescued and currently living in Mexico. She came to us after a life outside and after being neglected by her previous owner. She has adapted to an inside life quickly and is full of love to give. Pancha has some leash anxiety that she is currently working through: she is great with other dogs in her pack, but barks to other dogs in the street during walks. She would do best in a home with patient, breed savvy owners, that have the love and energy she needs to enjoy her new life indoors. Pancha is very food motivated and learns quickly. She needs some basic recall training. She sits happily for a cookie and to receive her meals. Pancha would be good with dog savvy kids, she grew up playing with kids in the streets of Mexico. She currently lives with two cats and she enjoys following the cats around, but has never been aggressive towards them. If you have experience and think this sweet girl would be a great addition to your family, please contact us. The adoption fees would cover part of Pancha's relocation costs, but vaccination, deworming and spay surgery (all which have been done) are on us!   If you are interested in Pancha, please email ayaladia@ualberta.ca show less

PANSY - adoption pending

Due to current travel restrictions related to Covid19 there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are prepared to wait.   Can I please come home with you and snuggle up by your side? That's what I want more than anything - someone to cuddle. My name is Pansy and I have been waiting for someone to adopt me for over 2 years now!! Surely it's my turn. I am 3 1/2 years old, 21lb and 15 inches tall. You can tell from the photo they took when I first arrived that I've put on a few pounds, but I'm hoping that I'll slim down a touch once you start taking me for walks. We don't have a chance to do that here because there are just too many dogs. Instead we get to wander around and play with each other if we feel like it. That must be how those other dogs stay slim, I suppose. Me, I'm more the calm, laid-back kind of dog. Since being picked up as a stray and brought to this busy shelter, I've adjusted to the chaos by finding my inner peace. Maybe I can help you de-stress a little by sitting on your lap or providing soothing vibes while you stroke my fur. Oooh, doesn't that sound good?  Don't get me wrong, I would like a little stroll around the neighbourhood as well. Just don't expect me to go jogging with you. I'm such a mellow girl that I'm sure I could live with your cat or even another dog, if you like. Just please tell me I'll finally get the chance to feel loved.   I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 includes my airfare to Canada.
