About ATOM ANT (special needs) ME - adoption pending

Adoption Fee: $350

Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait.

Atom Ant
Breed: Pointer/Saluki mix
Age: 1-1/2 years
Wgt/hgt: 44 lbs/ 19-3/4 inches
Gender: M, will remain intact
Relations: Good with dogs/ unknown cats & kids
Activity level: Moderate for cart dog
Highlights: Rear disabled, sweet, good with other dogs
Region: Middle East

I am a very sweet, young boy who was in dire need, as my shelter was closing down. Thankfully, a lovely person in Canada has offered to foster me, so I have been taken in by my rescuer until I can get a flight there.

I was found with all my legs tied up with a rope and run over by a car. I endured hellish pain. Some rescuers stepped in and I underwent severe surgery enduring pain and hardship for several months, but I was still able to recover.

So, I was kept at a place after surgery, but because of improper care, I was hospitalized. I was then taken to my current shelter. It is extremely difficult to find homes for able bodies dogs, let alone one paralyzed. If a place for me had not been found, they feared they would have to euthanize me. Such a shame after so much was done to save me. Now, I have a chance at a new life.

Though alas, I am paralyzed forever and can never play like other dogs... I have so much love to give and cuteness of personality to show you.

You may think it may be sad for me to be disabled, but it is just the way my life is and I enjoy being alive and able to share my love of life with others. LALDR will provide a cart for me once I am in my new home, so I can learn to zip around like Lightning McQueen, Mario Andretti, Speedy Gonzales, Usain Bolt... Hahaa.

I have no issues with other dogs and although I haven't been around cats, it might be hard for me to go after them. I also haven't been around children yet.

If you are up for a loving little buddy to snuggle up with, then you've come to the right bio. Here I am. Up and at 'em, Atom Ant.

Neutering has been deemed unsafe for me by the vet, so I will remain intact. Darn, I still can't do anything, even if I could get to the girls though.

I have not been spayed/neutered, but am *vaccinated & micro-chipped.
My adoption fee is $350.00 CAD + applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada.

Applications will only be considered if you live in the B.C interior and can easily meet Hobbs several times. Hello from Kelowna! My name is Hobbs. I'm a handsome 1 1/2 year old white lab/shepherd mix, weighing 50lb and with a height of 17 inches. Originally rescued from the streets in Kuwait, I was given the chance to come to Canada in order to find my forever home. I'll be honest with you; so far things haven't worked out. It seemed like I'd hit the jackpot with my first home; I had so much fun and got the kind of love and attention I'd always longed for. The thing is, once I recognized it was my home I started to feel a bit possessive of my people and would growl at others to keep away. I became nervous around the teenage boy and it no longer seemed like the right home for me. I was moved to a foster home which I shared with a whole pack of other dogs. At first I didn't like that at all and I had a few scraps with some of the dogs. But my foster dad soon realised that I am actually a fearful dog who suffers from anxiety.  I was started on anti-anxiety medicine and my behaviour rapidly improved. Although I'll probably need to stay on these meds, the good news is that they only cost about $25/month; a small price to pay for the positive change.  Now I play really well with my pack mates and I'm a happy dog who enjoys meeting new people. There are still times when I can get a little growly if I'm scared or startled, but I'm easily comforted by my foster dad. My future guardian needs to be someone I can trust and feel safe with so that he or she can help me in these moments.  Teenagers, especially males, seem to make me feel nervous, so my future home should be adults only. Most importantly, my adopter should be someone calm and confident who has some dog experience. Much as I enjoy playing with other dogs, I can be selective of my dog friends. That's why my second home didn't work out. The dog in that home, a female german shepherd, was also picky about her friends and the two of us just didn't mesh. My best friend at my foster home is a male pit-bull mix, but I'm not fond of hyper dogs. I would love to have a fur sibling in my forever home but he or she should be a calm, well-balanced dog, and the best thing would be for us to meet several times to see if we are compatible. Once I've found a canine friend though, I will happily play with them for hours. If you come and meet me you'll see just how loveable and affectionate I can be. With people I know, and even with some strangers, I will offer my belly and lean against you for some loving.  My foster dad says I am a real cuddle-bug! I'm very good on leash and I have excellent recall, so you if you're looking for a hiking partner I'd be a great match. I have a good amount of energy but I'm also able to settle down for a nap or just chill out once we come back home.  I know I'm not as straightforward as some dogs, but if you're willing to take the time to understand me you will be rewarded with a loyal and very loving companion. Please come and meet me.    Here's a video of me doing some training: https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipMR0ofkeYwCuwg3QNXDS2ZIHn3QecncOORVZdChrCXu0jptMFsDvU6rDSpQ4cj-6w?key=VnJPOC1sZjFLMXlRVG1aZzBGV2hPQnhsaGYzeFB3     I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee is $550CAD + applicable taxes.       Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Due to current travel restrictions related to Covid19 there may be a delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are prepared to wait.   Hiya. I am Hoya, a super-friendly and happy 2 year old Jindo mix from S.Korea. I come complete with a gorgeous brindle-coloured coat on my 35lb frame and I'm just the right height at 19 inches tall. Like many others here, I was a stray who was taken to the pound. I would not have lasted long there if I hadn't been spotted by a private rescue group and taken to safety. In January I was lucky enough to go to a special board and train facility where they help prepare rescue dogs for our future lives as part of a human family. Cool huh? Guess what? I quickly learned my basic manners and now I am helping socialize other dogs here. You could say I'm kind of an ambassador dog.  I am very comfortable around dogs of all sizes and I know how to read their signals. If they want to play with me, then I'm all for it; but if they'd prefer to be left alone I have no problem with that at all.  If you're looking for a companion for your current dog then I'd be a good pick.   Here I am with some other dogs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCDxCX_Rh3Y&list=PL3UlJJYID8eE_UBhXL_TmF5kNPDiWEovE&index=5 On the other hand, if I'm to be an only dog,  I would also be very happy because I adore people. It would be awesome to find a human who shared my enthusiasm for walks as well as one who would indulge my love of belly rubs. Whenever the leash appears I get pretty excited at the prospect of going out for a walk.  Does anyone out there feel the same way? This is my happy walk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YpwL4wOtfIs&list=PL3UlJJYID8eE_UBhXL_TmF5kNPDiWEovE&index=8 And here I am greeting a child: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2YtG-xn_sA&list=PL3UlJJYID8eE_UBhXL_TmF5kNPDiWEovE&index=3 If you already have a cat and you're wondering if the two of us would get along, then I can tell you that although I am quite curious about felines, I don't feel any aggression toward them at all so I believe we could peacefull co-exist.  Meeting a cat:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RP7BFy3gQAw&list=PL3UlJJYID8eE_UBhXL_TmF5kNPDiWEovE&index=6 Here's what I hope you remember about me before you scroll on to look at other dogs: I get along with everybody.   Remember my name: HOYA. I'll be waiting.     I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 includes my airfare to Canada. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. Hellooo to my future family! My name is Jackie Brown, pleasure to meet you! I’m a 1 year old shepherd saluki mix from Bahrain. I’m an adorable cutie pie and weigh about 35 pounds (perfectly medium, if I do say so myself). Aren’t I a pretty girl? Word on the street is that I’m a total sweetheart too! My rescuers describe me as playful, happy, and easy-going. My past is a bit of a mystery; all I know is that I was rescued off the streets as a wee puppy and have been living at Bahrain Animal Rescue Centre (BARC) ever since. My rescuers have taken such good care of me my whole life… but it’s been a whole year now and all I want is to have a family and a home to call my very own! Growing up surrounded by other dogs at the shelter has made me into quite a sociable pup. Check out the pic of me hangin’ out with my bestie, Dani. We get along great and love to play wrestle and run zoomies together. I’m good with other dogs and I love humans, although I can be shy upon first introductions. I can assure you that I will warm up speedy quick after I realize that you are trustworthy. Throw in a couple of treats and we truly will be best buds (did I mention I love treats? Heheh) I long for a home of my own. I’d love to experience the luxury of belly rubs, treats, and a cozy bed. I’ve heard soooo many good things about the beautiful Pacific North West… I can guarantee that I’ll LOVE going for hikes and walks! I’m still a young and youthful dog, so I have a moderate amount of energy. After a daily walk and maybe a trip to the dog park, I will gladly spend the afternoon snoozing. Do you think you could be my furever family? I’d really like to find them soon! I am spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption fee of $550 includes my airfare to Canada. Judy Breed: Golden Retriever Mix Age: 2.5 years old Wgt/Hgt: 52 lbs/TBD Activity level: Moderate Relations: good with dogs, cats/unknown kids Highlights: Friendly, Energetic, Kind, malformed front paw Hi there. I’m a gorgeous 2.5 year old Golden Retriever mix and I’m ready to fly abroad to meet my new family! https://youtu.be/Wsc6q_8QEvk. I’m coming from the Middle East where I’ve been very scared. I came to the shelter with a deformed paw which will need some TLC from a loving family who could help me find the proper treatment. The vet confirmed I was born like this. I only have one toe on my right paw and so of course that foot is shorter than the others. I do okay walking on carpet and grass, although I can’t walk with this paw in soil or hard areas, as I’m prone to infection. It would be ideal to cover my paw with an outdoor type bootie or prosthetic if I am to be on those surfaces, so my skin will be protected. If an infection breaks out, I need to get on antibiotics right away. It may be good for a vet there to better evaluate the needs for my paw.  I have been doing great for many months now. My rescuers just get me tested with a CBC, if there are any symptoms to see if there is an infection. My caretakers love me very much. They say I’m friendly and love attention from everyone and every dog. I am very energetic and love playing with my dog friends. I am calm riding in a car though. I find myself pretty indifferent to cats, not particularly interesting creatures, so could live with them just fine. https://youtu.be/509L1_xn6sY. I would be a great companion and do great in a home with a very special family that is willing to love me unconditionally and help me with my paw. An active home that likes to play and spend time with me would be wonderful. I’m a great girl looking for a second chance in Canada or America and look forward to meeting my special family! Here's a funny fast forward vid of me: https://youtu.be/NURIUCUvIIc. I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.  My adoption fee is $500.00 CAD + applicable taxes, this includes my airfare to Canada.    Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Thank you. For more information on or to set up a meet and greet with this dog, please email: Jerry at super645@yahoo.com. Available for adoption in South Central Alaska ONLY. Or anyone who can reach the area for a meet and greet. I'm Kiera. I was born August 8, 2013. I am a malamute and everyone who meets me tells me how pretty I am. I weigh about 75 lbs. I didn't have a very good home before I came to live where I am now.. The man wasn't very nice to me and he had to dogs who beat up on me all the time, so I don't get along with other dogs very well, because I am scared of being hurt again. So a one dog home is best. I don't know how I would do with a kitty. I like guys ok, especially the guy I live with, but I especially like women, and older kids. I like younger kids, but I can be over energetic with them and sometimes scare them or bump them over and I don't mean to. I am very well behaved, I have never had an accident in the house no matter how long I have to stay inside. I love treats and if you are eating something, it goes without saying that I should have some of that too. I like snuggling and I have a stuffed Tigger that I like to play with, if you get on the floor with me. I especially like car rides too and will wait patiently while you run into the store. It is not that my man doesn't like me, he loves me and I love him. But he had to move into an apartment and he wants to find a place where I can have more activity and explore in the woods or where ever. When we lived up on the mountain I would go with him on hikes all of the time. I have good recall when called back too. One issue I have is one of my eyes was damaged in a fight before my current owner got me. The vet said it has atrophied. So it is smaller than my good eye. It really hasn't changed much. I would say if anything it may need occasional cleaning to keep out any debris. The vet said it could stay like this or eventually shrink more needing removal at some point. I can probably see some light/shadows with it. I'm a very lovable dog to people, and I would make an excellent companion for someone or a family. I am a very loyal girl.   I am spayed and up to date on immunizations. There will be a small rehoming fee.   COURTESY POST This is NOT a dog belonging to LALDR. This is a courtesy posting only. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. King Arthur Breed: Pitbull terrier mix Age: 5 yrs Gender: M, neutered Wgt/Hgt: 47 lbs / 26 inches tall Energy level: Average. Medium-high (when playing) Relations: Good with dogs after intro/good with teens, kids (see policy)/Not best with cats               Highlights: sweet, smoochy, good walking on leash, rides well in car, loves to play ball and go for walks, house trained Region: Mexico Honoring my name, and as the truthful king of smoochies, I’m looking for my knights to spend the rest of my life with. If you’re up for becoming a part of the Pittie round table, I’m your perfect match! I am a sweet boy who is super handsome, calm and well-adjusted to being around people. Found on the streets of Mexico wandering around; it seemed as if I hadn’t been abandoned for very long. I almost got ran over by a truck, but my rescuer managed to get me out of the avenue, safe and sound. it's unknown how I ended up on the streets. My rescuer and her family took me in, to keep me safe. Apparently, my looks could have put me in danger in my country. Car travel experience must have been in my past, as I had no issues all the way to the vet for a check. The doctor said I was fit as a fiddle, and after a few days, I got neutered, vaccinated and dewormed (not my favorite moment, to be honest). Since then, my rescuer has cared for me, along with an especially sweet 14 year old guy with whom I spend the most time. I can get a little anxious when “my" person leaves and will softly whine. https://youtu.be/939J5WPyZe4. I don’t care much for large crowds though and feel a bit stressed at that time. My caretakers say that I’m the smoochiest dog ever, a good kiss is all it takes for me to be ever affectionate and just overall happy. Listening is one of my strongest suits, so you can always count on me for that. I love sausages, so they’d do the trick if you want to train me. I can be a little stubborn at first (I’m a king) but I learn pretty fast, so I’ll pick up the commands. https://youtu.be/2r8GFznskqo. I always have a great time exercising, but I know how to walk calmly on a leash and pretty well ignore most everything. https://youtu.be/S5p7IPOBrvQ. Of course when I'm with my friend, Jason (the white Pittie), and we see the kids we know coming towards us, well... we get excited and pull to reach them. Ha https://youtu.be/64QNpG2UN8k. I’m smart, obedient, clean, and house trained. Yea. I like other dog’s company, but I think I will do best as the only one in the house. I sometimes move forward and growl at other dogs when they get too close. With a couple meetings though, I usually become friends. I don’t like sharing my toys with other dogs when playing though. https://youtu.be/IxHbYTo5rj0. I have been around a couple of young children and it went well. I just think I might be a little strong to hang out with them often, but I definitely get along with teenagers. They’re my fav!     Not usually many problems with cats, I don't like them too close and can growl when I get stressed. They can make me a bit tense. But you can be sure that my years in this world made me a true gentleman, emphasis on the gentle part! I don’t know why, but recently I’ve started to bark at many things while in my crate. I'm typically not much of a barker. I just want to be part of a family, where I can hang out with you. I enjoy any kinds of activity with my human knights, whether it be relaxing after a long day, or racing around together in the morning. My energy level depends on what I’m doing, so I can be pretty relaxed while watching a movie or pretty energetic while playing ball (I love it!). I’m a very adaptable guy. A back yard with a tall fence (since I know how to jump quite high when playing ball– yes, I am quite athletic) would be nice (I'm not kn ki an to jump unless asked or playing though), but I also like going out for walks to enjoy the air and the view. I look forward to starting a new life in Canada and will be sure to bring lots of love and fun to my new home! I have been neutered and vaccinated. My adoption fee is $500.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. WASSUPPPP future fam?! Kobey here. I'm a 6 month old Shepherd/Saluki mixed pup from Bahrain. I'm currently about 30 pounds and growing fast! I'll be a large pup, that's for sure. I'm a cutie, what can I say!  I was found as a stray pup in a placed called Busaiteen, a small town in Bahrain. For some reason, I was separated from my pack and was all alone. Even though I was an adorable puppy, some cruel teenagers had beaten me. Luckily, I was found by the amazing Board Members of BARC (Bahrain Animal Rescue Centre). They brought me to safety and got me all fixed up. Enough of that sad stuff! On to happier thoughts... I am now a healthy pup with a tummy full of food and a heart full of SO much love to give! Oh and also a body FULL of tail wags and puppy energy, he he he. As you can see from my videos, I'm such a goofball! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-jYaGrJ4mM&feature=youtu.be) As all puppies are, I'm a bit mischevious, but that's what makes me extra cute! I'm learning to be a good boy on a leash (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpFPClW4t_4&feature=youtu.be) and I'm pretty chill with meeting other dogs (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKE4dVv16p4&feature=youtu.be).  Being so young, I have a lot to learn and am basically a blank slate! If you adopt me, we could do lots of training together and make me reaaaalll smart. I bet I could do tricks- I'm pretty clever. If you have treats... I'll pretty much do anything! I'm looking for an active home with hoomans of my own who can take me for lots of walks and adventures! I'm gonna need quite a few walks each day to get all this puppy energy out- but I hear spring and summer is coming soon... so what a grrrreat time to be outside with a puppy! I play hard but I also snooze hard too... and that's when I L.O.V.E. to cuddle. Ahhhh to have hoomans to cuddle me all the time... that's a pups dream come true! I am neutered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped. My adoption fee of $600 includes my airfare to Canada. Calling all canine-lovers! My name is Lainie, pleasure to e-meet you! I am a strikingly pretty shepherd-mix young pooch from Bahrain. I am about 3 years old, 46 pounds, and 26 inches tall.    I grew up living with a lady who didn't treat me very well. I lived with about 20 cats in a horribly-conditioned house. My owner ended up being deported (yikes) and left me and all of my feline-friends behind. Luckily we were rescued and moved to the shelter, which is a HUGE upgrade from our horrible home. I feel like I'm practically living in first-class now, in comparison to what I had before. Despite this major upgrade, I still don't have a "home" to call my own. I would love to have humans to cuddle with me and a cozy bed to snooze on. I hear that long walks and hikes are pretty awesome... boy how I'd love to experience that!    Seeing as I grew up surrounded by 20 cats, I'm very cat friendly. Check out my video; put a kitty next to me and I'm wagging my tail! Pretty chill, right?    If you're looking for a young, four-legged, furry companion... look no further! Please consider becoming my furever family, I'd love that so much!    I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. My adoption fee is $500.00 CAD + applicable tax. This includes my transportation to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website,  http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/  and to read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.  Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. LOGAN (Lucas) Breed: Husky Age: 4 yrs Gender: m, neutered Wgt/Hgt: 66 lbs / 23-1/2 inches Energy level: Moderate to fairly active Relations: good with dogs / unknown kids, cats Highlights: smart, loves playing ball, bit food protective, avoids touch until comfortable then will even sleep with you, bit leery of strange men yet, responsive to training, house trained, good leash walker Region: Middle East Do you like being pampered with softness? Then I'm your fluffy guy. I am a lover of play and have an eager mind to learn. Life is not good for dogs here in my country. A bad owner kept me in a small garden without shelter and not fed often. I was also all alone. That is hard emotionally on a pack animal, especially a husky. They knew nothing about my breed and thought I was a guard dog type. When my rescuer got me, I had wounds on my body and legs and my collar was cutting into my skin.  Now, I am a happy boy. I really enjoy playing with other dogs, but I haven't been around cats or kids. Oh, and ball playing, that is another fun pastime. I am rather possessive of my food and will grumble and bare my teeth to let other dogs know it is mine. My rescuer is working on this and I am improving & eating my food where the other dogs are now. Upon first meeting I tend to jump in your face and bark. Once I get to know who you are, I start smiling at you. During the first couple days, I often won't let someone touch me. But start giving me treats and playing ball with me, then we are best of friends. In fact, I will probably be asking you to touch me and even want to sleep in bed with you. I'm not fond of strange men taking hold of my collar/leash and will show a snarl and maybe bang my mouth on them as a warning. It is not a bite though. It just worries me until I get to know them. Likely this is due to something that happened to me. Once I realize you won't let any harm come to me, that should dissipate with training. If I do something wrong, they just say no bad boy. (In Persian, of course) and I then I will sit and try to shake paws with you. If I am cute and flash my brown eyes at you, how could you get upset with me? I am quite smart, as us Huskies tend to be. My energy is moderate to fairly active, as most Huskies are, so an active to moderately active home would suit me. If you had a yard, that would be great, but if not some hikes would be super too. Just plenty of exercise is needed for the likes of us legendary breeds.  I know to do my business outside and do well with leash walking. I am a perky boy and would love to live with another dog as a playmate.  My rescuer had me fully checked, bloodwork and all and I am fully healthy. I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. My adoption fee is $500.00 CAD + applicable tax. This includes my airfare to Canada. Due to current travel restrictions related to Covid19 there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are prepared to wait.   Hello everyone out there. My name is Lowa. I'm an 8 month old, 29lb  jindo mix from S.Korea who is soooo excited at the prospect of coming to live with you. My mom was pregnant when she was found as a stray and taken to the shelter, where she gave birth to me and my 5 littermates. At ten weeks old we were all put on the euthanasia list after mom got adopted. But thankfully we were saved by a kind-hearted volunteer and taken in by another rescue group.  Several of my siblings have now found homes in Canada and the U.S already. I think it's my turn next! I would describe myself as very sociable. I just like being around people and other dogs. Everyone really! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C61dnucK8Ws&list=PL3UlJJYID8eEKyTVOxMnPDxzN6ZVEoBaI&index=3 Cuddly, is another good word to convey my affectionate nature. I'm just a happy, outgoing dog who would be thrilled to find my human family. If you already have another dog in the home, even better, I know we'll become the best of friends. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4U6dX26lJgI&list=PL3UlJJYID8eEKyTVOxMnPDxzN6ZVEoBaI&index=4 While I'm waiting to come to you I'll be spending time at Welcome Paws Academy where they are going to teach me how to walk nicely on leash. I understand I'll be doing a lot of that with you. Sounds good to me! As long as I get a chance to run around at a dog park too.  I have to go and romp with my pals now, so I'll say goodbye. Hope to meet you in person real soon.   I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 + applicable taxes includes my airfare to Canada. I'm sure to be a head-turner with my charming good looks and adorable face! I have been at the shelter in Bahrain my whole life, so about 2 years now. Needless to say, I'm SO ready for a home to call my own! I wonder what it would be like to have my own humans who love me dearly, feed me lots of yummy treats, and take me for adventures. Being a young lad, I have a good amount of energy (not crazy though... he he he), so I will be a great adventure companion. I'm awesome with other dogs, seeing as I've lived with 10 other dogs my whole life! Check out this video of me surrounded by other pups... pretty tolerant of me, eh? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OG89EzjMTX4&feature=youtu.be) If you happen to have another furry canine companion in your house, I'm sure we'd get along great! If not, I'd love to socialize with other dogg-o friends at the dog park or at daycare. I'm a social butterfly, what can I say! Ooh another bonus... I'm excellent with kitty cats! Check out my video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qd9jJ1-MwNo&feature=youtu.be) If you think you'd like to have me join your family, pleeaaseee fill out an application!
