About Piper

Adoption Fee: $400

Piper is 1ish-years, 6-pounds female chihuahua/miniature pinscher mix who just arrived to NYC. She was surrendered by a Texas family taking care of her for a homeless family member. Piper is a charming little girl with some puppy energy, but who also loves to cuddle and nap. Piper is still getting used to the NYC noises and needs some encouragement with leash walking and to not be startled by the sights, sounds, stairs, and other dogs everywhere - but she is very friendly. This long-legged kissy girl is doing great with wee wee pad training and going potty outside - once she does her business outside, she's pretty much done with her walk. Those long legs aren't just for looks - she cam jump, too! Another dog ar home is best for Piper to play with to release her energy.

Received rabies, dhppl and bordatella. Microchipped and spayed.

Franz is a 2.5-year-old, 15-pound male terrier mix from the Dallas ACC.  Franz has been returned to us twice for biting his female owners on their hands. He's been training with an experienced foster for a while now and it's time to continue his training in a forever home with no children. We know that times are difficult and many are in need of a therapy dog to cuddle with, but Franz is not the right fit for that role.  Franz is a work in progress and will only thrive in the hands of a firm and reliable leader.  We are looking for a special adopter who will be committed to working very hard on getting this boy to the next level in his progression.  For the safety of his adopter, Franz requires a consistent routine, daily exercise, and strictly enforced rules and boundaries (no human furniture, no laps & limited affection) while he continues practicing the good manners he's learned.  As fluffy and cute as Franz is, he cannot be coddled or treated like a baby- doing so triggers unwanted behaviors.  He is very quiet in the house and sleeps well in his crate alone or when the owner is home.  Franz does well with other small dogs but has expressed interest in chasing cats.   Franz enjoys playing fetch inside and practicing training and engagement games.  Outside, he loves exploring the city on long walks, meeting people, getting pets from everyone he meets, and playing with other dogs in the park. He is house-trained and happy as a clam during groomer and vet visits.  Franz's adopter will need to communicate regularly with us during the first few months to ensure a safe and successful transition. Vaccinated for rabies, DA2PP, and bordetella. Neutered, microchipped, and heartworm negative.  we cannot guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. show less

Jinx is an 8-month-old, 12-pound male jack russell terrier mix. Jinx is still acclimating to life in NYC. He came from a rural shelter in Alabama a month ago and has made a ton of progress in his foster home!  Jinx needs a patient and empathetic owner who can teach him how to be a puppy. He's curious and super sweet and does well with company. Jinx is still a timid little guy, but will come to you when he feels comfortable, especially with treats. He has been receptive to crate training, and loves to sleep and chew on his bone. Once he is comfortable with you, he loves to lay on a bed near you or snuggle up next to you on the couch.  In the mornings, Jinx is a high energy boy, and loves to get his energy out playing! He can be vocal at times when he wants attention or if is having a lot of fun playing. Jinx has only just started to be comfortable outside on a leash. His foster would carry him outside to get him used to the sounds and he is now walking with his foster fur-brother. However, he is easily started by loud noises and will freeze up. He will need continued positive reinforcement on a leash. Jinx was really able to come out of his shell when he moved to a foster with an energetic, playful dog at home. Another companion helped him learn to trust humans and served as a good model for leash walking. Because of this, Jinx must go to a home with another confident, playful dog and without young children.  Jinx will make a great addition to any home with people who have the time and patience to help this pup grow his confidence. Vaccinated for rabies, DA2PP, and bordetella. Neutered and microchipped.  Please contact us DIRECTLY using the instructions below if you are interested in adopting one of our Waggytails! Sunshine is a 4-year-old, 7.5-pound chihuahua mix. She’s loves attention and her happy place is right by your side. Sunshine had a wonderful first 4 years of her life, living in a quiet rural home with her elderly owner. However, she was tragically left alone in her home for about 6 weeks when her owner passed, and she's learning to trust and open up again. Sunshine needs a quiet home where she’s the main attraction and doesn’t have to share you with other pets (or many other people). She is a little nervous at first but really starts to blossom and shine when she gains confidence and feels secure in her surroundings. She is at her best when she knows her boundaries so she requires some patience and training in the beginning. While she has not bitten, when she is pushed past her comfort zone, she can be snappy, so she needs an understanding owner who has experience and patience. Once she bonds with you she will never be far from your side. Her hobbies include napping, eating snacks, and sitting on your lap for head scratches. We are working on getting her weight down so small meals in the morning and evening are her schedule, as well as low-fat snacks. She gets a treat here and there for good behavior but her absolute favorite reward is a nice scratching or lap time with you. Sunshine, while blossoming in her foster home, has not yet been outside on a leash and uses wee pads like a champ. She is a bit nervous at handling, so we need an understanding adopter who will continue to work on her training.  Vaccinated for rabies and DHPP. Spayed. Needs microchip.  Please contact us DIRECTLY using the instructions below if you are interested in adopting one of our Waggytails!
