About Scooby - adoption pending

Adoption Fee: $225.00

WOW!  Thats all we can say about Scooby.  He is a hunk of a hound.  He is the class clown, friendly, flappy, and sweet, and a whole lotta fun!  He is a 3 yr old , 55 lb hound with a zest for life.  Found out wondering in Iowa a kind human picked him up, brought him to BBRH, where we got him all vetted, neutered and HW tested and now he’s ready for a forever family!  Since he’s lived outside most of his young life, we are stunned he is adapting to home life VERY well.  NO accidents in his foster home!  He LOVES to watch TV, no lie.  A few times he wanted to lift his leg, but took direction VERY well when told NO.  And doing his busines outside awesomely!  He is a very smart guy.   He is on the shy side, and needs time to connect with you.  A large fenced in back yard where he has room to run and sniff sniff sniff would be most ideal for him.   He also wants to remind you he is extremely handsome too...    In the manners department he is doing very well.  He's a quick learner!   Life sometimes frightens him and things are big a scary.  He is a very strong guy, and on a leash he can be a lot to handle so needs proper, continued leash training.   He would enjoys calmer doggies to play with, with proper intros, as sometimes he meets dominant rowdy doggos who turn him off.  Are you looking for a sweet young gent to spend your days and nights with watching movies?   Scooby dooby doo is your guy!   Such a doll!!

His adoption fee is $225, he is hw neg, neutered, has all vaccinations, and is chipped.

What is a puppy but not a puppy?  It is me, Bay-lee!  Are you scratching your head now wondering what I mean?  Let me describe my average day!  I wake up in my kennel in the morning super excited for the day to start, but I am very quiet until my foster mom lets me out!  I hop and jump and run around in circles just to let her know how good I was and how much I missed her.  We then go outside to play and go potty!  I run around the yard playing and chasing my fur siblings.  Ooh, the cat, I HAVE TO spend time chasing and barking at the cat!  It is part of the regal beagle code or something. Once I am done, we go inside for breakfast!  I love breakfast!  Sometimes my foster mom does not make food fast enough so I have to run around and bark to let her know how hungry I am.  Back in kennel for breakfast!  Even though I eat faster than my fur siblings, I wait quietly while everyone finishes their food.  Back outside again!  I love this life!  My foster mom works from home so I get to stay out of my kennel all day long. I play and chew on my toys and nap with my fur siblings.  My foster mom has to make sure not all of my toys are outside or I will try to chew on things I shouldn't.  Uh oh….  If I can not find any toys, I will make my own toys, a shoe here, a sock there, maybe the toilet paper roll!  If I have real toys inside, I won't make my own toys!  So I need a lot of toys.  We go outside again around lunchtime and then again when my foster mom gets done working.  By this time, I know dinner is getting close and even though I get treats when I go outside to potty I am pretty sure I am starving!  Dinner time!  I love dinner as much as breakfast. By now, you think this sounds just like a puppy but this is where things get different!  Once my foster mom sits down to relax, I hop right onto the chair and snuggle up with her.  You see, I am every bit a puppy during the day and an old lady at night.  Snuggling with my fur siblings during the day is great but nothing beats the time I get to snuggle up with my person!  I could spend all night snuggling and getting petted!  Now that you know how my day is spent, these are the facts.  I am between 2-3 years old and weigh a whopping 18 pounds.  I am kennel trained and 90% house trained.  Sometimes when I start running around and playing when I am inside, I forget where I am and just squat and pee. I am getting better every day!  I love other dogs and it would probably be best if there was another young dog around to play with.  I like cats too, but they will not let me catch them.  I would probably be best without a cat because I might make you crazy barking and chasing it.  I am working on my leash training but I haven't figured out what it is all about yet.  If that is not enough, I love people!  I am spayed, up to date on my shots, heartworm negative and microchipped.  I am currently being fostered in the Kansas City area with an adoption fee of $350.  Are you ready to take me home yet?  If interested in adoption please apply at www.bassetandbeagle.org/adoptionapplication/ show less

I'm as pretty as a flower and as sweet as a bowl of ice cream!  I am a 65 lb , 4-5 yr old chubby hound mix and my coat has the most beautiful markings.  I am the best family gal in the world.  I love kids, love to cuddle on the couch or chair with my family.  I had my own person all my life until they passed away, and then ended up in a shelter.  I was not happy there at all...  Thats when the nice people at BBRH rescued me!  One of my favorite things to do is snuggle up close to you and roll around to get belly rubs.  It has been determined that I live my best life if I am an only dog in the house.  I just dont love others doggies as much as I love my humans.  Cat mesmorize me so I need to stay away from those too.  I am a good listener and will follow you from room to room.  I love to feel part of a family and want to protect you. On a leash I can pull and bark at other doggos so need continued work on this, as I love going on walks.  I have never had an accident in the house and will go to the door when I need to go out. If you are not paying attention and I really need to go, I will paw at you.   I love car rides, cool floors, watching TV, and couches. When my foster parents leave, I get a little anxious in a kennel and do not love to be in one, so they leave me out in the house and I am just fine.  After barking for a bit I calm down quickly.    When you get home I talk to you and tell you how much I missed you, and show you my toothy grin, dance around and tell you how much I missed you!   Cutest thing ever.  All around I am the greatest dog ever is what my foster family says. I am  4-5 years old, up to date on all my shots, microchipped and free of heartworms.  Are you my new forever family?   I would love a home, with a fenced in yard and I guarantee many kisses in exchange for belly rubs!   I am being fostered in Omaha.   Applications can be filled out at bassetandbeagle.org ,   Adoption fee $250 . show less

This is Frank.  He is a 2 yr old male beagle weighing in at 26 pounds. He has a lemon beagle color with heavy, think, luxurious fur.  Maybe a little bit of basset in him?  He was surrendered from a hunter, since he didn’t hunt and was scared by gun fire.  He wasn’t treated the best since he didn’t hunt.  He has spend his whole living outdoors and/or in kennels.  While this sounds sad, the flip side is being able to watch him become a loving dog again.  He is very loving and loves attention.   Since he was never an inside dog he will need some work on house breaking and manners.  He seems eager to learn and please.  He will also need leash training, since he is not familiar.  He is being kennel trained and is spending the night there.  He is slowing learning, but will howl and bark a bit before settling down.  Once house trained, he would be great companion on the couch. He does well with other dogs, loves to play with them.  We don’t know about cats.  We expect he would do well with young kids.  Would have to learn not to jump up on them.  We believe he would do well with another dog(s) in a home with a fenced in yard, and someone who will be patient with him.  He is still a little timid and loud noises make him nervous. Frank is neutered, up to date on shots, on heart worm preventative and is microchipped. He is fostered in KC.  His adoption fee is $300.  Apps can be filled out for him at bassetandbeagle.org   show less

Hi. I’m Lucy and I love people! I was left tied to a tree in Arkansas without much attention so I am trying to get all I can now. I love big kids, little kids, and anyone who will pet me. Sometimes I whine if people aren't paying attention to me. I mean, why wouldn't someone want to pet me all the time? It feels so good! I also love snuggling on the couch and in my warm, cozy dog bed. I am 15 pounds of sweet and sassy. The vet thinks I am approximately 3-4 years old. I do great in a crate at night and also settle down to rest in a crate while my humans are gone. My foster family wants you to know that I snore, but I'm sure you won't mind.  I love stuffed toys and treats. Did you say treats? I will gobble up anything you give me! Since I was left chained up I am a little shy around bigger dogs. I have learned how to play with my foster dog sister who is much bigger than me, but I was very scared at first. Sometimes if I am unsure about if the dog will hurt me, I might growl and snap at it until I feel safe. I might do best in a single dog household, or with a dog that is small, like me. I haven’t met any cats yet, so I am not sure if they would scare me or not. I am currently working on house training and I must say, I haven’t done too bad. I have only had a few accidents since my time with my foster family. My foster family also thinks I’m magic. Even though I am tiny, I can climb a 6 foot chain link fence. I would do best at a house with a vinyl or wood fence, or would have to be on a tie out. I am up to date on shots, have been spayed, and finished treatment for hookworms. I am currently fostered in Lincoln, NE.  My adoption fee is $350 and you can apply for me to be your forever snuggl buddy at www.bassetandbeagle.org/adoptionapplication/ show less

Pretty as a daisy is our Maisy!  Maisy is an approximately 2 year old beagle mix that was dumped in the country in Missouri.  Lucky for Maisy she was found by a good Samaritan who helped her get on her feet.  Unfortunately, Maisy is a player and the resident beagle is a fragile small beagle so Maisy finds herself looking for a home that is ready for an energetic, playful 35 lb pup. The perfect home for Maisy would have a 6 ft fence- she’s a jumper!, another dog similar sized doggie friend to play with or an active human, no cats- she likes them a little too much, and a home that will love her.  Maisy is crate trained and working really hard on house breaking and manners.  She is a gentle treat taker and she wants you to know she LOVES treats.  Maisy goes to dog daycare a few times a month and everyone says she is a sweet puppers. Maisy may not have had a great life before she was rescued so she does cower and flatten in new situations.  She is also a little frightened of being picked up.  Maisy just needs love, continued training and a dog friend she can play with. Maisy is fostered in St Joe, MO.  She is spayed, HW negative, up to date on shots and she will be microchipped. Her adoption fee is $300.  You can apply for Maisy at https://www.bassetandbeagle.org/adoptionapplication/ show less

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single beagle in possession of a good temperament, must be in want of a forever home. (Sorry Jane Austen, but his name is Charles Bingley!) Hi, my name is Mr. Charles Bingley but my foster mom calls me Bing. I am a very rambunctious  1- 2 year old beagle mix! I love toys and will chew on just about anything! And I mean anything so you probably should puppy proof the house when you fall in love and adopt me.  My mom says I am a funny boy. I go go go until I can't go anymore!! I am full grown weighing in at 15 lbs and will be a super awesome friend when you get to know me. When tired, I love to snuggle with my foster mom. She lets me sleep in bed with her and I can't get close enough! Foster mom here… Bingley is a great dog. He still has a lot of puppy in him. He craves a lot of attention. I think he would do best with older kids. He loves other dogs and will play with them for as long as they want. It would be best if he has a doggie friend in his new home.  He is learning how to play fetch and does a good job of bringing the ball or toy back which is unusual for a lot of beagles. Bingley is not quite housebroken yet but we are working on it. Bingley is up to date on shots, HW negative, microchipped and neutered. He does need minor surgery on the 12th to remove some dangling dew claws that are floppy and a potential tear risk.  His adoption fee is $300.  You can apply for Mr Bingley at https://www.bassetandbeagle.org/adoptionapplication/ show less

Hi! My name is Rhea and I’m a six-year old beagle mix.  I love people and warm up to them quickly, but I would like a home with no other dogs or cats, please! I just want to find my people that I can hang out with and spoil with kisses. I have lost over 10 pounds since I joined BBRH and would like a person that will keep taking me for daily walks so I can get down to my healthy weight. I really enjoy my walks and walk nicely on the leash, but I do get very excitable if I see other dogs, people and cars. I can be strong, so I will need my new friend to be a strong leader who can help me remember my manners and keep me safe. In return, I just might give them a break when I decide to stop and roll in the grass. Don’t worry, though, I will get back up so we can continue our walk! I am quiet and a good girl in the house. I love to have comfy beds and blankets to sleep in, and toys to play with (but I like to remove the stuffing so please make sure I always have a backup). I always like to keep a toy handy so I can toss it around with joy when my foster mom gets home! I just want to follow her around and observe from a polite distance, to make sure everything is okay. I won’t argue when it’s bedtime, and in the mornings, I like to do a little yoga and stretch out all my muscles. Bet you can’t guess my favorite pose! I also LOVE to lick and take car rides. I am the snuggliest girl you will ever meet! Wanna give this 6-year-old hunk of love a chance? Rhea is up to date on all vaccinations, HW neg, spayed, and $225 is her adoption fee.  She is fostered in Omaha. If interested in adoptiing Rhea, please apply at www.bassetandbeagle.org/adoptionapplication/ show less
