About Boss

Adoption Fee: $350

Boss is a one and half year-old Hound mix who had a broken hip but has undergone surgery to repair it. He is almost back to being a normal, active, four legged dog. He is being fostered and has started therapy in Bethlehem, PA.

Boss is good with other dogs, cats and older kids (little chldren make him a bit nervous). He is also house trained and well mannered.

Boss is a great companion, watching all that goes on and dilligently supervising all activities around him. He still has pup energy and will play as long as you will. When you are done, he goes to sleep.  He has been identified as part coonhound by a number of venues, He resembles an American Fox Hound. He is about twice to three times the size of a beagle with relatively long legs. He is a handsome tri-color fellow.

Update 9/23/2019:  Boss has completed many weeks of therapy and exercise (starting in July). He has been examined by an orthopedic surgeon who has not recommended any additional invasive treatment and has stated that the only thing to be done is exercise directed towards increased muscle mass on the right leg. He is good to go!

Boss has been involved in additional weeks of therapy for improving muscle mass in the repaired leg (and becasue he likes the therapists at the Animal Therapy Center :)  His foster dad is training Boss in basic behavior commands. Like most pups, Boss can get rambunctious from time to time, however he is a well behaved pooch.  He does try and hog the bed however,

This 3-year-old Brown Beauty is Belle. The petite pittie pooch is 50 pounds and is an absolute dream. She looks to her people for love and reassurance because Belle is a bit shy. This may explain why she is a cuddler extraordinaire! There is one thing Belle likes as much as hugs - toys! She loves toys. She loves to chase a toy or ball thrown for her but has not quite mastered the ‘return’ of fetch yet. So cute! Belle is comfortable both inside and outside. She walks well on a leash and loves to greet people in her neighborhood, though she is still very shy when initially meeting them. Her confidence has been building while in her new foster home. In fact, Belle has been attending outdoor martial arts classes with her foster mom. It is really helping her learn to trust people. It does take a bit longer with the men. While in foster, Belle has begun to learn about stairs, and she is really starting to get the hang of them. Occasionally, this little darling will nibble on a pillow or blanket near her face but her foster redirects the behavior, working to help Belle learn what is off limits. She enjoys leaning against her peeps, and likes a good belly rub. Belle is just such a love. She is a terrific dog and she is ready to be a part of YOUR family. Do you have a soft spot in your heart and your home for Belle? You can apply to adopt Belle at  Additional adoption criteria:  Any children in the home must be 12 years of age or older. show less
