Brindle, brindle, brindle! Oh, how we love those brindle coats.  Ariel is a 2-year-old Sweetheart with an Amazing Brindle coat and an expressive face to go with it. She weighs a solid but compact 35 pounds and is just an All-Around Terrific dog - a pint-sized pittie! This little Sweetie is house-trained and crate-trained and was the perfect houseguest in her foster home prior to Mostly Muttz. She likes other dogs, but no cats for this girl. Not only is Ariel crate trained, but she enters it on command and even likes to go in there on her own! She likes to eat in her crate and take her toys into it to play with them. Meet Babe!  Babe is an older gal who is 15 years young. Babe's owners became sick with cancer and could no longer care for her. Babe was living outside and the owner was willing to surrender her to rescue. She is safe and in foster care and would love to find a place to live out her days. She has learned how to give kisses.  Babe doesn't need much - just a soft bed, walks in the park, and time in the yard. She loves to be outside and enjoys time spent with her people. She is a sweet old girl that loves car rides, walks, roaming the yard and laying on a soft bed next to her very own person. Babe would most likely do best as the only dog, but a laid back mellow house mate would be okay, too. Babe loves to spend time out in the yard and she also loves walks, she is great on a leash. Babish is a 10-year-old hound mix who came to Pennsylvania from a West Virginia coal mine. She was born at that mine and was the only survivor of her litter. She is a loving dog who craves human attention. Babish is very affectionate toward those she trusts. Babish is housebroken and loves being outside. In an outside environment, she is tolerant of other dogs. Inside the house, she is cautious with other animals. She also needs time to warm up to people. She would need to go to an adult only home. It's important for us to let everyone know about Babish's struggles. It is difficult for a dog as wary as Babish is, to find a good home. 8/6/19 - Outgoing, spunky, sweet, athletic and loveable.... all of these words describe this pup.   He is eagerly awaiting his own home.  Foster homes are fun but forever homes are better.   Recently he got to hang out with one of his litter siblings and they had a blast.    Bagpipe (Dash) is a sweetheart.  He is housetrained, knows many tricks/commands and he's ready to move into your home/hearts.    He's in a home with 7 other dogs of assorted sizes and is a friend to them all.    7/14/2019  Bagpipe (DASH) checking in.    He's been a wonderfully fun boy to foster.  He is sweet, mild mannered and now that he learned that visitors no longer pose a danger to him being abused, he's eager to meet more.    This kid needs plenty of exercise as he's still a puppy in a big boys body.   No felines for him and no small children please.     One of his favorite games is "chase me".   He wants to have a toy and you chase him for it.   He loves to retrieve balls in the yard as well.   He's completely house trained as well as crate trained.         5/30/2019 Through no fault of his own, Bagpipe is back in rescue again.   He's a large boy with a timid nature.  He's great with other dogs and is hoping but it's not a deal breaker - to find a home with another dog in it.    He is crate trained, takes treats very gently from you and he's fun.  He's goofy, loves to give out slobbery kisses and likes to be near his humans when they're home.     He's been meeting all sorts of new people in foster and is becomming eager to meet more = is that you?    This Lil Bruiser is Bagpipe. He and his siblings from the "musical instrument" litter were born on 9/21/18. Applications can be taken for these pups but they will not be available to go to their homes until November 16th. He enjoys being outside, particularly basking in the sun. Banjo is about to strum right into your heart. This Energetic Boy is above all, a Survivor. Banjo is one of those Special dogs who is coming to us and in so doing, he is leaving some tough times behind him. He will be looking for an Adopter who is totally committed to giving him the attention he needs, the structure he needs and the love he needs. Banjo is a 1-and-a-half-year-old Shepherd mix who is quite underweight right now. You see, Banjo almost died from an obstruction that caused him to become septic. It took its toll on his body and his recovery has been lengthy. But now he is getting healthier by the day and we hope a Great Home with good quality food is just around the corner.  Banjo is high energy. There could be many reasons for this, not the least of which is how sick he was at one time. Now that he feels good, he wants to run and be an active dog. Any potential adopter should be prepared for his high energy level. He will need a lot of exercise and simulation and a patient, guiding presence. It would be an asset to have some Shepherd experience. Becks is a pale pooch with a lot of personality. She is a 4-year-old perky Pittie-girl with dalmatian-like spots on her ears (they're so cute!). Her ideal home would be an active one. She would love to be a running/jogging partner or a hiking companion. Some of us think she might be part fish because she loves to swim. But there are few things Becks Loves as much as playing ball. That is her absolute favorite! This beautiful girl is a very people-oriented dog and she loves children. When she finally takes a break from being her usual active self, she becomes a super snuggler. Loving you and having you love her is at the core of Becks. She loves with her whole heart. Having fun and loving you is what Becks is all about. She is housebroken and crate-trained and does well with basic commands. She is smart and food motivated, so a good treat will nudge her to excel at any given command. She is amazingly comfortable in the car and excellent on a leash.  Becks is a terrific best friend. Because she is so into her people, a home where she is the only pet would be ideal. That said, she does like male dogs who are laid back and let her be the boss. A meeting between this beauty and any other dog in the home would necessary. No cats for this girl, though. Boss is a one year old Hound mix who has had a broken hip. He has now had surgery to fix it. He is almost back to being a normal, active, four legged dog. He is being fostered and undergoing therapy in Bethlehem, PA. Boss is good with other dogs, cats and older kids (little kids make him a bit nervous). He is also house trained and well mannered. He is a great companion watching all that goes on and dilligently supervising all activities around him. He still has pup  energy and will play as long as you wil.  When you are done - he goes to sleep.  He has been idenified as part coonhound by a number of venues, I think he resembles an American Fox Hound.  As a rough reference he is about twice to three times the size of a beagle with relative long legs. He is a handsome fellow.  Update:  He finishes his first round of therapy today (8/02/2019) and is doing well.  He will have a second on Monday (8/05) and a future program/course of theraputic activity, if any,  will be determined.  He is a good pal and after Monday we will be working on basic command re-enforcement.  He is a sweet pooch. Update 8/5:  we are embarking on and additional 4 weeks of therapy for improve his muscle mass in the repaired leg and becasue he likes the ladies at the ATC :).  He has progressed nicely, been examined by foster's vet and given a clean bill as well as confirmation that his records are complete. She has a Sleek Black and White coat and weighs about 20 pounds.  Carolina is a typical puppy and loves to play. Some of her Favorite items are balls, ropes and bones. She can get a bit rambunctious when she plays, like all puppies do. She is incredibly smart and learns very quickly. Croissant is a 9-month-old Terrier/Chihuahua mix with a Sweet personality. Look at those Ears! This little girl LOVES to play. She enjoys her trips to the dog park and is always up to fetch her soccer ball.  Croissant is housebroken, with just an accident, here or there and she thinks of her crate as her cave. "Bedtime" is a Favorite for this Sweetheart. She is good in the car and likes rides a bunch.  Croissant had been adopted but when her family moved to another home they discovered she had allergies to something in their neighborhood. It is often difficult to figure out just what is causing the allergic reaction when it is environmental, so her family decided, for her sake, that she might do better in another area. Thankfully, she has had no further reactions at her current foster home. We believe she was living near fields of tall grass and that she was bitten regulalry by flies there. It tuens out, she is allergic to fly bites. Her ideal home would not be near this type of a field or concentration of plants. Delilah is a 10-year-old Terrier mix who weighs about 15 pounds. She is good with other dogs. Delilah is severely vision impaired. Having limited vision doesn't slow her down though, but her arthritis does a bit. She is a sweet, happy little girl who gets around fine once she knows the layout of her surroundings. She does need to be carried at times due to her arthritis and vision impairment. Delilah is doing extremely well in her foster home. Her foster mom says that she believes a home with cats would be okay. Delilah would not be able to see a cat to chase it or cause it harm. She does get "under foot" occasionally, probably because being near a person helps her to feel safer and to navigate better. Because she is so small, her people would have to keep that in mind while walking around. Overall, this Little Lady is quite the Charmer. Dorothy is a love bug with the sweetest hangdog eyes. She wants to be next to you, preferably with her head on your lap or even better, curled up in your lap despite it being a physical impossibility. She loves to chill on the couch or dog bed, excelling at curling into the tiniest little circle imaginable. She also loves to romp in the grass, and she loves a good roll on her back. Dori loves children of all ages and while needing slow intros with other dogs has lived in a house with small dogs happily. She might be happier with a slightly larger dog to play tug with on a more even playing field. She has the cutest butt wiggle and her tail goes all the time. She is a little clumsy in a sweet way but recently learned to use stairs! She does not like to be confined because she wants to be with her people or other dogs as much as possible but is good as gold around the house if left alone. Eda is a 65 pound Boxer/Shepherd mix with a beautiful red fawn coat, white feet and a splash of white on her chest. She is a happy girl and her nub wags at the slightest bit of attention. She loves to be with people and will follow you around the house. Eda loves to snuggle on the couch and will roll over for belly rubs. Eda is energetic, housebroken and does well walking with an Easy Walk Harness. She knows most basic commands (come, sit, lay down, give a paw). Overall, she is a medium energy dog who occasionally gets excited and runs puppy laps around the yard. In the house, Eda loves to play fetch with her toy duckie. Eda is crate trained and is respectful of her foster home when left alone in the house. She loves car rides and is a great traveler. During a ride you might find her napping on a lap or on the back seat.  Eda is cautious with new people and they must be introduced slowly and carefully in order to gain her trust. Once she does trust you though, she will give you ALL of her love. She requires a home with older, considerate children where she can be the only pet in the house. She is not good with other dogs or cats. In a home where she is the only pet, she will love you, cuddle with you and shower you with kisses.  Eda has waited so long to find just the right person, who can love her for all the things she is - someone for whom her limitations are of no concern. Eddie found himself alone at the emergency clinic in WV after being hit by a car. Unfortunately, his pelvis was injured but after spending some time recovering, the break is healed and he is getting around quite well now. He is ready to find his forever home! Now that Eddie is feeling better he's got lots of energy to burn! He might be over year old but he's still very much a puppy and will need help learning some manners. As you would expect from this breed mix, this guy really loves to work! He's mastered sit, and he's working on "stay", "leave it", and "wait".  He's also learned to take his treats "gentle".  He's a quick learner!    Eddie's medium length fur and beautiful coloring will make anyone fall in love with him! He is very sweet natured. He is crate and house trained, good with kids (probably best with older kids) and loves to play with other dogs.  He is just looking for the perfect family to scoop him up and give him all their love! Ernie is a 5-year-old collie mix with a shiny tan and white coat. Such a Looker! This boy is very laid back and sweet. He contents himself easily and doesn't need much stimulation. He'd love a home where he could just hang with his people and chill.   Ernie is definitely a people dog and if you're his person he'll shower you with kisses. He does best with adults although teenagers, 15-years-old and older would be the most likely to bond with Ernie. He does not like anyone or anything to get in his face and he prefers a quiet, non-chaotic environment. A home where Ernie is the only dog would be perfect. He has had dog friends in the past and done fine but because he prefers a calm environment, older, less energetic dogs would be the best companions for him. No large, dominant, loud or high energy dogs for this boy. Ernie is cat-friendly.    When you first meet Ernie he might be a bit timid and hold back some. Give him some time though and his mellow nature will gradually come out. Patience and lots of love and affection will be the keys to unlocking Ernie's true personality. Exxon is a 3-year-old Pibbie Princess who weighs 50 pounds. Her Black and White markings give the salt and pepper appearance of a more mature girl, but don't let that fool you. This Girl is not old. Just look at her impish grin! Exxon's coarse coat almost creates a striped pattern. She is so lovely. Exxon was fortunate to come to Mostly Muttz through the prison system. She was part of a program where she had one-on-one attention from an inmate handler, who was appointed to Exxon as a trainer. The beauty of this program is that Exxon learned commands as her handler built confidence. Helping the dogs from this program find their furever homes is a Privilege Mostly Muttz is Grateful to have. Exxon's adopter will be provided with a complete list of the commands she has learned and additional details from her handler. Exxon is good with other dogs, though she would require slow introductions with a adult female dog. Exxon is crate trained and house trained. Ginjer is a 3-year-old, 58 pound lab mix who is a sweet, but extremely shy girl. She feels most secure in her crate but will stay right by you when she is out and about. She is nervous around all new people but given time she will warm up to her person. She does okay with other dogs but does not like them in her face. She does best with calm, laid back dogs. And on that same note she would do better with older children who would understand her boundaries. She was left at her home when her family moved out and she waited and waited for them to come back but they never did. She was loyal to them even though they abandoned her! Doggie kisses and hugs are Grayson's specialty.  Grayson went through a 6 week professional training class, so she has all the basics down! She is very treat motivated and incredibly smart. An active family would be ideal for Grayson because she simply loves the outdoors and going on walks. Grayson is very people-focused so a home where she is the only pet might be best for her. Gypsy is a very misunderstood girl. She has good reason to be distrustful of people. She was never really showed any kindness or love but she is amazingly a very well behaved and loving girl, at least once she gets to know you. Gypsy is a 8-year-old heartworm positive lab mix who made the long trip with the others from SC. You may remember her puppies, the G litter, who needed to be bottle fed so that she could begin heart worm treatment. Gypsy was spayed and began treatment in her new foster home. Gypsy is a shy but sweet loving girl on the path to be as healthy as she is beautiful. She is less stressed but a little nervous around men - we are working on that with her. She just really wants to sit in your lap and be loved! Gypsy is all done with her heartworm treatment, she is healthy, happy, active and eager to find her forever. She is still a little nervous with anything new and very nervous with men. After all this girl has been through before coming into rescue who could blame her for being nervous. She just needs love and patience and you will not be disappointed with the wonderful dog that is under that shyness. Could you give her a chance? This Bright-Eyed, 6-year-old mix is Jake.  Jake is very loyal to the people he considers his family and would love to be by your side!  Jake is very smart and learns quickly.  He knows basic commands including sit, paw, and down.  He walks very nicely on a leash and rides well in a car. Jake is housebroken & crate trained.  He will walk into his crate and wait for a treat!   Jake is comfortable living in a home and acclimates to new surrounds quickly!  Jake would enjoy an adult family and would make a wonderful companion to do outdoor activities with.  He would also be just as happy to lounge with you watching TV.  He loves toys and will occupy himself or engage in play with you.  Currently, he enjoys playing with his foster dog brothers and sister.  He does not require a fenced yard but is content to use one.  He has energy to be active but also relaxes easily, a great combination! Javanna is a 2-yr old pittie mix who is as sweet as pie! Javanna is loving life in her foster home and loves to play with her foster brother and sister. Javanna does well with dogs of all sizes and doesn't mind cats.  The best home for Javanna would be one that is more laid back. A low energy, low activity environment is where she thrives and is most comfortable. Her new home must be one with persons age 18 or over. Javanna does need some time to get to know new people. We believe that she was not socialized very much as a young dog because she can be quite timid, at times.
