About Seymour

Five things he could never do without: 1. his wifi 2. guitar music 3. his favorite hat 4. the Grand Slam at Denny’s 5. YOU. Meet Seymour. Seymour is a 7-pound, 8-year-old handsome charcoal gray Miniature Poodle boy, looking for his match. His foster mom says he should have been named “Wiggles”.  If he catches your eye, he will just start wiggling with happiness. He is a sweet loving boy but not a big kisser. He’s a pro on a leash and loves to go for walks around the neighborhood. Seymour has never met a stranger. He gets along with everyone he meets. He’s very happy to sleep in the people bed with you but is also quite content to sleep in his crate.  He will go in his crate during the day to take his naps unless you sit down and then it’s all about your lap and a good snuggle. Seymour is a great traveling buddy.  He loves to go for car rides and quietly sits and waits until you get to your destination.

Overall, Seymour is a quiet boy but does let you know when someone is at the door. He loves, loves, loves his people and would like to find a home where his family is home most of the time. Seymour gets along with other dogs and wouldn’t mind sharing his home with another pup. He is fully housebroken. If this little stud muffin would look good next to you in your upcoming selfies, we’d love to hear more about you and have you fill out an adoption application. Seymour is heartworm negative, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for his forever home. His adoption donation is $350.

Adoption Fee: $350

Stevie Wonder. Ray Charles. Andrea Bocelli. Bodhi. Meet Bodhi, an 8-year-old, 15-lb Maltese and Shih Tzu blend boy, who is such a cool dog he only needs one name. We could all learn life lessons from Bodhi. His vision loss hasn’t altered his happy spirit one bit. He’s a handsome, super snuggler who gets along with everybody: people, dogs and cats. Bodhi loves to go on car rides and is always up for an outing with his person. He does well on leash walks and is a big fan of playing with doggy toys. Bodhi is happy all the time and he gets so excited when his person comes home that he does a special dance. Bodhi is the perfect companion for someone who wants a sweet, friendly dog that’s loving his life. His eye condition doesn't stop him one bit from enjoying his days outside soaking up the sun, or being next to you as you go about your day...he needs his medicated eye drops every day, which he takes with no issues, and a family to call his own. Also, a one level home without stairs would be best suited for him so he can maneuver around safely. Bodhi is crate trained. If this super cool snugglebug sounds like someone you’d like to come home to every day, we’d love to hear more about you and have you fill out an adoption application. Bodhi is heartworm negative, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for his forever home. His adoption donation is $200. show less

Checkers is a 7-year-old, 69-pound Hound and Saint Bernard blend boy. With his markings, Checkers is one handsome guy! Not only does he impress you with his good looks, Checkers is super sweet and loving, too! Checkers is shy initially, but allow him some time to warm up to you and you will see he is ready to be your new best friend. Checkers simply adores his person. Do not be fooled by his age, Checkers is still full of energy and just tons of fun to be around! He likes to run around the yard or chase the ball, so he would be excited to find a forever family that can provide him with daily walks or exercise in the backyard. Checkers gets along with other dogs, but he can be a bit selective about his doggie friends. He would be fine sharing his forever home with another dog or two, preferably a female dog or a laid-back pooch. Alternatively, Checkers would also be content as your only pooch. While not a must-have, Checkers would love to find a forever home with a securely fenced-in yard, where he can stretch those long legs of his. This big guy can’t wait to find his very own forever family! Checkers is housetrained, heartworm negative, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for his forever home. His adoption donation is $250. As part of our "big dogs, big love" adoption program, Checker's adoption fee includes three in home training session with a force-free, professional dog trainer. show less

Cotton is a 1 year old, 60-pound American bulldog and Labrador Retriever blend boy. This young boy is as sweet as can be! Cotton has never met a stranger – he is super friendly and greets everyone he meets like a long lost friend. You won’t want to miss out on one of Cotton’s famous doggie kisses – this gentleman just has so much love to give! Cotton enjoys spending time outdoors: going for a walk, playing in the backyard, or simply laying on the porch and soaking up the sun. Cotton is still a young boy so loves playtime and has plenty of energy for long walks. After a good play session, Cotton turns into quite the snuggle bug – he loves to cuddle up beside you on the couch, or bury himself in a cozy blanket on a comfy dog bed. Cotton gets along well with other dogs, big or small. Therefore, he would be happy to share her forever home with another dog or two. However, Cotton prefers to be fed seperately from his doggie friends so no one can steal his food. If you don’t have any other dogs, Cotton would also be very content as your one and only. Cotton is deaf, but he is very attentive to his people and is learning to respond to hand signals, so his hearing deficit does not slow him down one bit. Sweet and gentle Cotton would make a wonderful addition to any family! He loves his people so much, he is hoping to find a family that can be home more often than not. Cotton is housetrained, heartworm negative, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for his forever home. His adoption donation is $250. show less

**Bonded: Must be adopted with her brother Duke** Consider yourself warned. They are thick as thieves and are planning their next big heist: stealing your heart. Meet Daisy and Duke. Daisy and Duke are a bonded pair of Yorkie-Poos who are sister and brother searching for a special kind of home that can accommodate a dynamic duo. Daisy, a 9-year-old, 10-lb black & brown female, and Duke, a 10-year-old, 12-lb gray male, are a bonded pair that love to cuddle, take naps together and just be with each other and their person. They’re very sweet, super affectionate, love walks and love treats even more. If you’re in the kitchen cooking, they’ll be more than happy to be your taste testers. Like little shadows, they will be right at your feet if you are going anywhere near the fridge, stove or pantry. They pop up out of nowhere because they don’t want to miss out on treats that might be coming their way. Daisy and Duke are always ready to be your snuggle buddies and are oh-so-soft like plush teddy bear toys. Daisy is a very sweet and gentle soul who is mostly quiet, until someone knocks on the door. She’s also a big fan of belly rubs. Fully housetrained, they are both great little companions who will bring lots of love and happiness to their new home. By adopting a bonded pair, your two pups will already have a companion to keep them company when their human family isn't around. If double the love sounds like the perfect gift to give yourself, we’d love to find out more about you and have you fill out an adoption application. Dolly is a 4-year-old, 48-pound Labrador Retriever and Bulldog blend girl. This gorgeous gal is a total sweetheart! Darling Dolly LOVES people! Dolly is very friendly and readily gives the sweetest bulldog kisses to everyone she meets. Her silly smile and gentle nature will win you over in an instant! Dolly is a polite girl, who already knows several common commands such as sit, wait, and leave it. Dolly does not jump up on people when greeting them, and rides politely in the car, but she is still refining her leash walking skills. Dolly is the perfect mix between a young exercise buddy and a laid-back, relaxed companion. She very much enjoys playtime in the yard or going for long walks, yet she is also content relaxing on a lazy afternoon. With proper introductions, Dolly gets along nicely with other dogs, so she would be content as your only pooch, or she would be fine sharing her forever home with another calm, mellow dog. Dolly is not a big fan of meeting other dogs on leash - she gets a bit nervous and overexcited, but she is making good progress with positive-reinforcement based training. Dolly is housetrained, heartworm negative, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for her forever home. Her adoption donation is $250. As part of our "big dogs, big love" adoption program, Dolly's adoption fee includes three in home training session with a force-free, professional dog trainer. show less

When you wake up in the morning you are beautiful to me, even before your first cup of coffee. Why? Because I see you with my heart, instead of my eyes. Meet Gabby. Gabby is a 12-pound senior Miniature Poodle blend who is a sweet little lady just wanting to be loved. She didn’t have the easiest life prior to coming to PPR, and despite having lost her vision, she’s done nothing but blossom both physically and emotionally since being with her foster family. Gabby loves being petted and loved on, wagging her tail and even rolling over for belly rubs. She gets along well with other dogs and children as well. Gabby navigates the house and yard well and is very good at following by sound. She may walk into things but she bounces right off them and keeps going. This little sweetheart is happy just to be by your side and on her special blanket that she settles down on when she’s relaxing. Gabby is housetrained and stays in her kennel quietly when her foster goes out for awhile. She loves to eat and is still learning that not all food is hers, so she eats in the privacy of her own area when it’s dinnertime. Not any different from any of us getting older and needing help, Gabby will need to be on her daily medicated eye drops for life. Also, a one level home without stairs would be best suited for her so she can maneuver around safely. If this loving sweetie sounds like someone who belongs right by your side, we’d love to hear more about you and have you fill out an adoption application. Ten is the new seven! And while Gizmo, a 10-year-old, 11-lb Miniature Poodle may be a mature little gent, don’t let that fool you. He still has pep in his step and likes going on walks and spending time outside in the fresh air. Gizmo is a quiet friendly boy that likes to play with soft toys and carry them around. He has a special thing for the squeaky ones. He may have worked at Wal Mart in his past because he’s got skills….he’s a professional greeter in his foster home, greeting everyone at the front door with a wag of his little tail. Gizmo gets along well with other dogs, and travels really great in the car. A perfect and easy little companion, he likes to follow his foster mom around the house and snuggle up next to her on the sofa or in bed. Gizmo enjoys going on walks and is a perfect gentleman on the leash. The simple pleasure of being right by your side is enough for him. He’s also fully housebroken. Not any different from any of us getting older, Gizmo has a couple of medications he needs to be on for life. Jasmine is a 6-year-old, 40-pound Hound and Shepherd blend girl. This sweet and lovable girl would love nothing more than to be your new sidekick! Jasmine is a shy girl, who needs time to warm up to new people and environments, but as soon as she knows you are her friend, she will be your most loyal companion. Once comfortable, Jasmine will show you her cuddly side. She enjoys sitting beside you and is a big fan of a good belly rub! Jasmine is a smart girl, who responds well to training and is quick to learn. She walks politely on a leash and travels well in the car. Jasmine has a wonderful energy level; she is the perfect combination between laid-back and active. SweetJasmine likes to spend her time enjoying the outdoors: sunbathing and taking in a nice breeze, chasing lizards, or fetching the ball are some of Jasmine’s favorite things. Therefore, she would be excited to find a forever home with a fenced-in yard. Jasmine is fearful and nervous around other dogs, so she would prefer to be the only pooch in her new forever home. Cats are probably a no go too, since Jasmine is a big fan of chasing things like birds and squirrels. One thing is certain, nothing would make this sweet girl happier than to find her very own forever family — could you be the one? Jasmine is housetrained, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for her foster or forever home. Her adoption donation is $225. Lily, a 10-year-old, 12-lb Yorkie blend female and Razzy, a 10-year-old, 10-lb Papillon blend male, are truly inseparable BFFs that love to snuggle together and walk together. Don’t you worry though, there’s enough room for a human heart or two in this lovefest as they get very attached to their person and are ready to steal your heart. Lily loves to be with you but is not a hugger like her brother. She does welcome belly rubs though. She is not fond of cats or other dogs (except Razzy). Lily loves long walks and does very well on the leash. She likes to sleep with her human, preferably under the covers. Razzy is a snuggle buddy. Maxwell is a 6-year-old, 42-pound Chesapeake Retriever and Beagle blend boy. Maxwell is a guy who likes to take it slow. It takes a little bit of time for him to form relationships with people and he can be shy. He is still working on meeting and bonding with people, but has made remarkable progress since being in our care. So much progress he has stunned us all! Once you've earned Maxwell's trust, the rewards are great. He's a very gentle, quiet, and attentive dog, who absolutely adores the one he's deemed to be his person. Maxwell's favorite thing in the whole wide world - beside food and yummy treats of course - is playing with his dog buddies. He loves the company of other large, playful dogs - especially females. Together with his dog buddies, Maxwell loves to fetch, role in the grass and play tag. Maxwell comes to us from a hoarding situation, where he was not given much exposure to the outside world so most experiences are new and scary to Maxwell. He is working on gaining confidence in the world and has spent several months in a board-and-train program with a professional, positive-reinforcement based dog trainer. Maxwell has made great strides, but because he is still a bit insecure, he will need to find a home with someone who can continue to help him build his confidence, keep up his training, and meet him with lots of love and patience. We know this all may sound like a lot, but Maxwell promises he is worth it! Maxwell is housetrained, heartworm negative, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He is ready for his forever home and hoping that his perfect forever family is out there! Maxwell is free to adopt or eligible for our Furever Foster program. His adoption will include a training package with a qualified force-free trainer in the adopter's area. Maxwell may also be adopted outside the state of Florida. show less

Meet Muffet. Former Pickleball champion. Talks about going mall walking but never does. Will not switch from AOL to Gmail. Keeps the thermostat set to menopause. Miss Muffet is a 10-year-old, 20-pound Bichon Frise blend who is taking life easy these days. She is a gentle and calm soul that is into chilling out, belly rubs and hanging out with her person. Muffet gets along with other dogs and likes to go on walks, but takes her time and prefers a ‘stroll’ speed. She always wants to be right by her person’s side and that includes nighttime, as she doesn’t like to sleep alone. Muffet doesn’t have the best eyesight and does walk into things but would remind you that vision is not the primary sense in dogs. She really likes hanging out in the yard and sniffing around. She sleeps a lot but when she’s awake you do have to keep an eye on her to keep her safe. Muffet likes looking for food and will find it, even if that means in garbage cans. She’s housebroken and is an easy companion that is as pleasant as can be. Muffet needs to lose some weight and would love your help in trimming down. She can be your only pooch or live with another dog. Sight impaired dogs benefit a lot from living with other dogs that have great vision - they use their partner as a guide to find their way around and strong bonds develop between them. Also, a one level home without stairs would be best suited for her so she can maneuver around safely. If this relaxed, chilled out little lady sounds like someone you’d like to snuggle with on your couch, we’d love to hear more about you and have you fill out an adoption application. His favorite quote is “I’m listening”. No, it’s not Dr. Frasier Crane or even Dr. Phil, but a handsome boy named Rex who has the cutest perky ears and is ready to hear all about what makes you happy. Meet Rex: an 8-year-old, 10-pound Maltese blend looking for the sun to his moon. Rex is a snuggler with a capital s and he is ready to give as many cuddles as you can take….anywhere, anytime. He’s an active and playful boy but not overly hyper and would probably be good at the dog park. He loves to run and play outside and he comes right back when he’s called. Rex gets along with men, women, older children and other dogs. He’d love to be your one and only but wouldn’t mind having a brother or sister if you’ve already got a canine companion at home. He travels nice in the car, is crazy about his bully sticks and loves to burrow down in a cozy blanket. Rex likes to sleep in the people bed but wants to have his own space too so he prefers to sleep at the foot of the bed. He’s content having a place of his own to curl up in. Rex gets nervous sometimes when he’s being picked up, but he’s doing well at learning to trust people again. Because of this, as well as his small stature, Rex is best in a home without small children. Noise and commotion are two of his least favorite things - they make him nervous and a bit fearful. He’ll need someone that can be patient with him as he rebuilds his confidence and gets more comfortable in his new surroundings. Rex is also housetrained. If this handsome boy would look good right by your side as you both navigate through your days, we’d love to hear from you. Rex is fully vaccinated, neutered, heartworm negative, microchipped and ready for his forever home. His adoption donation is $325. show less

Squeak! Squeak squeak squeak squeak, squeak squeak. Meet Starr, squeaky toy aficionado. You may have to meet her in person to decode what she just said, but in the meantime we can tell you the important stuff. Starr is a 6-month-old, 30-lb and growing Terrier and Labrador Retriever blend puppy girl. Not only is Starr as loving as can be, she also has the most beautiful markings. Just look at that adorable eye patch! Starr is 100% puppy. Curious, sweet, lots of energy and oh so excited to see you when you get home: “Hey! What’s up? Where ya been? Who’d ya see? Can we play now?”. She loves to play in the backyard so a fenced in yard would be amazing for her. Starr is good with other dogs, older children and loves to take walks around the neighborhood and explore. If she’s awake, she’s on the move – so much to discover in life! Once Starr has played to her heart’s content, she loves to snuggle up to you for a good cuddle session. Starr is still a puppy, so she will need an active family to raise her, train her, and love her forever. She is crate trained (for nighttime) and almost housetrained – she will let you know when she needs to go. Just like with any puppy, Starr needs a family who is able to spend play time and training time with her so she learns how to develop good doggie manners. She already has a head start on some things - she’s almost good at fetch so with your help she’ll be able to master that skill and check it off her list! If you can see yourself posting all sorts of pics of this little cutie on your social media, we’d love to find out more about you and have you fill out an adoption application. Tilly is a 9-year-old, 62-pound Blue Tick Coon Hound girl. Our silly Tilly is such a sweetheart! Tilly originally came to us as part of a hoarding case, where she was locked away in a crate for most of her life. Now we are happy to say that Tilly has traded her crate for a cozy spot on the couch. She is loving her new life lounging on the coziest dog beds! Tilly is a happy-go-lucky girl. She enjoys going for leisurely walks, or roaming around the backyard, exploring wherever her hound dog nose takes her. Tilly recently discovered the joy of playing with dog toys. She now cannot get enough of little squeaky toys and it is so cute to see her getting all excited. The way to Tilly’s heart definitely includes food. She recently had a dental cleaning, where we had to extract several of her teeth, but that has not diminished her appetite. Tilly can still eat kibble and you will never hear her say no to any treat you offer her. Bananas are her favorite snack in the world. Tilly gets along very well with other dogs big or small, as long as they respect her space. She is never aggressive, but may get vocal if they come up to her too quickly. Sweet Tilly is mostly housetrained, however she does tend to have to go to the bathroom quickly after eating, so you will just have to make sure mealtime is quickly followed by a pottybreak. Tilly is a mellow, loving lady who is looking for a cozy place to enjoy her golden days. Tilly has completed heartworm treatment, is spayed, up to date on her vaccines, and recently had her teeth polished. Her adoption donation is $250. show less

Tyson is a 10-year-old, 6-pound Chihuahua boy. Quirky little Tyson had a rough past, but has settled into his PPR foster home quite well. He was a terrified, nervous Chihuahua when he came into PPR’s care, but now he’s become a well adjusted, silly, loving little guy, full of personality and “spice” as his foster dad likes to say. Tyson is good with other dogs and cats, but he’d be perfectly content being your one and only, too. He has bonded very closely to his foster dad and has quickly become his loyal companion. He has a cute waddle when he walks and when he wags his tail, his entire chubby rear end wags with it. Tyson is completely house broken and doesn’t get into things around the house. He loves to dig into his blankets and beds and burrow under covers. Tyson also loves being pet, massaged and scratched up and down his back and neck. If Tyson feels threaten by other dogs or scary people, he can react defensively, so he would be best suited for a dog savvy adopter that can further build his confidence. Tyson loves sweet talk, affection and attention and if you’re sitting down and ignoring him, Tyson will see to it that you pick him up by “talking” and making all kinds of funny noises. Tyson would be best suited for a kid-free home. Tyson rides like a perfect gentleman in the car and loves to explore his backyard with his foster siblings, looking for lizards and feeling the sunshine. He’s a good eater and he’s very food motivated so if you’re cooking, don’t you worry, Tyson will be right by your side to make sure the kitchen floor stays clean if you drop anything. Tyson has some skin allergies and takes a daily pill to keep his skin and coat in good shape. Tyson is housetrained, heartworm negative, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and just had his teeth polished. His adoption donation is $200. show less

I was saying to myself just this morning, "Wynwood," I said, "Wynwood, you know what you need? You need a person all your own." Meet Wynwood, a 5-year-old, 28-lb handsome beagle blend looking for the yin to his yang. Wynwood may be shy when you first meet him, but this sweet boy will warm up to you once he knows you’re a-okay. He’s gentle and sweet, and enjoys being in the yard with his other doggy friends as they give him confidence. Wynwood is looking for a caring and compassionate home that will help build that confidence and understand he needs love, patience, and a few cookies to help him come out of his shell. As he gets more comfortable you’ll see a little of the curious beagle come out around the house. Wynwood loves napping in a comfy doggy bed, but he’s also up for a car ride and makes a good co-pilot. Due to his shy nature and the fact that he’s still learning to trust people and his surroundings, Wynwood should be considered a flight risk and will require a home with a secured fenced in yard. He will need to be on a leash, wearing his securely fitted harness when he goes outside and he should always be supervised even when he is within the fenced in yard. A savvy dog family with a doggy brother or sister that can show him the ropes would be ideal for Wynwood. He is fully housetrained. If this sweet face and cute bushy tail melts your heart just thinking about the possibilities, we’d love to hear from you. Wynwood is fully vaccinated, neutered, heartworm negative, microchipped and ready for his forever home. His adoption donation is $250. show less
